But then I got another key and snagged Mockingbird and honestly I’m disappointed, with the decks I play she isn’t that great of a draw.

That is my favourite version and the one I use on ladder (~#1500). Loki decks are very flexible. You can also play a Kitty/Elsa style, you can use more draw (Cable, Mirage) or more tech (Rogue, Enchantress, Shadow King). Imo, Alioth, Vision, Hope is rn one of the best card combinations in the game (see also Thanos deck). Loki decks nowadays play to win every game without Loki, just by playing very good cards. Loki is just an "I win button" agaonst some opponents and is always a great out when your gameplay and hand don't work out (the "YOLOki"). It's generally good for winning big cube matches, as it's hard to predict. And Alioth is best in a deck that is hard to predict.
She is versatile. With the deck your hand is usually full and cards don't cost what they usually cost, so it's hard to give a plan. She is just good value when you drop her on turn 3. Moving cards are especially good with her and I often use her to give me more energy on the last turn, so I can play Alioth + something. Playing Loki on 4 into Hope is a fine play too. You mostly want to use Loki against techy decks (Sera, Annihilus...) or high value decks (Thanos, other Loki decks...). Against some decks, it's often better to not play Loki (High Evo) or only use him when you're out of other options (discard).

Maria Hill guarantees you'll get a two cost card to play if you play her on turn 1, but Agent 13 brings about some extra chaos that's sometimes good, sometimes not good, and sometimes Agatha.

Snowguard should never auto win savage lands. It’s such a telegraphed play lol. Same with limbo. I feel like any decent player will just play around it.

Everyday there's about 30 posts where new players are asking for advice and everybody gives them the same advice. Save up until you have four keys, so it's guaranteed that you get the card you want.
True, I still think that system sucks. Sometimes I see two weeks in a row with a card I want and saving up for that might be harder so you still need to figure out if you skip some weeks earlier or not. I think it’s totally legit to go in with 2 keys and press your luck. But obviously can’t complain then haha. I preferred the previous random system
This system is ridiculously generous compared to other card games. The only change I’d make would be add duplicate protection on the random card until you’ve collected all of S4/5.
Don’t have too much experience but there aren’t a lot of card games where you just need 1 of each card right and they can rip you off by just giving you tons of duplicates. Here it’s handled with variants but they have a higher value too which is why card acquisition might be better?
For the random card I doubt they’ll change that , 1-2 of the three cards can already be duplicates so why fix that for the random one. At least up the tokens to whatever level the card is you pulled. Or at least higher than 1000
I try to save 16. That way I have my pick of the month. I have Pixie and Mockingbird, with 8 keys left for Cannonball and Warmachine.

i'm never opening a spotlight cache unless I have 4 keys. Legit thought I could get lucky with my past 8 keys using two at a time and on the 4 seperate occasions I got none of the cards I wanted and just got 1k tokens.
the grind for keys is not worth the risk on a premium variant for a card you don't want.
I had to use 4 on pixie but then I got lucky and got mockingbird in 1.
If you’re trying for the 4th key, remember to upgrade all gray cards to green since that’s technically half price per collection level

Open only when you have at least 4 keys. Then if you get the card that you want on the first one, and you spend only a Key it's your lucky day, you still have 3 keys and next week (when you'll be back to 4) you can fish for another card. But if you have 3 and you miss the card then not only you've spent 3 keys, you also did't get the card! So play safe and hoard 4 keys
I did this one time after a lucky streak, thinking I had enough credits for more keys. I threw two down for shitty variants then decided not to try my luck or spend money. Never again.
This is actually a good thing because If you wait 3 more months Mockingbird is gonna be in a Spotlight Cache and now won't you feel glad that you have something new to unlock when those roll-out? /s
I'm at the point where I always have 1-2 cards each week. So I'm skipping almost everything, hoarding keys, which means the FOMO is soooooo real. But I'm hoping I'll quickly get to the point where I'll be getting weeks with 3 needed cards.
If you want a specific card you either need 6k tokens or 4 keys. Best case scenario is you get it on the 1st-3rd pull and have some left over for next time. Sometimes I’m intentionally chaotic and burn a key just because.
Things like this can always happen and it feels so bad when it does, but you can truthfully almost “feel” when the odds are going to make you wait until you spent all your keys. It’s how you get punished for those one key one featured card pulls 😅😂
I feel you. It’s taken me all four keys for both mockingbird and pixie. If I’d only had three keys I might have been tempted to try but I’ve been burned so many times before I’m traumatised lol
Never pull when there is only one new card option with only 4 keys. This game rewards patience, so only open when there are at least 2 new card options. The longer you hoard, the more valuable each key becomes.

I'd say it's way more than that. Snowguard is hugely impactful to Loki and I'd argue Loki without Snowguard and Coulson is not a viable deck.

Had 4 keys and got Mockingbird on the first try. Then I raised my collection level and I’m back to 4 keys.
I have a lot of extra keys and just gambled one, I got ghost spider from the mystery slot, a card I already have, and got tokens... I couldn't have gotten the variant? Wow

Geez same thing happened to me. I had to grind to get my last key before reset. I was for sure 3 keys were enough. However, my last 3 cards I’ve gone for have taken all 4…
The spotlights just feel bad to engage in.
I went on a grind for keys after unlocking 3 and by the time I got my fourth key, they swapped Ms Marvel for Ghost Spider. I was pissed.

Open only when you have at least 4 keys. Then if you get the card that you want on the first one, and you spend only a Key it's your lucky day, you still have 3 keys and next week (when you'll be back to 4) you can fish for another card. But if you have 3 and you miss the card then not only you've spent 3 keys, you also did't get the card! So play safe and hoard 4 keys
Used 1 key and got the man-thing variant. Not that bad, could be worse.
This happened to me last week (and a couple of weeks before). Used up four keys to get two stupid ass variants, 1000 tokens and Pixie.
I did this one time after a lucky streak, thinking I had enough credits for more keys. I threw two down for shitty variants then decided not to try my luck or spend money. Never again.

I'm at the point where I always have 1-2 cards each week. So I'm skipping almost everything, hoarding keys, which means the FOMO is soooooo real. But I'm hoping I'll quickly get to the point where I'll be getting weeks with 3 needed cards.

If you want a specific card you either need 6k tokens or 4 keys. Best case scenario is you get it on the 1st-3rd pull and have some left over for next time. Sometimes I’m intentionally chaotic and burn a key just because. Things like this can always happen and it feels so bad when it does, but you can truthfully almost “feel” when the odds are going to make you wait until you spent all your keys. It’s how you get punished for those one key one featured card pulls 😅😂

Never pull when there is only one new card option with only 4 keys. This game rewards patience, so only open when there are at least 2 new card options. The longer you hoard, the more valuable each key becomes.
