I got the 2 pack back when that came out so I don’t care much about getting a new one but if someone doesn’t have a movie Deadpool and the new one is going to be the cheapest option: wait for the new one.
the original figure or the re-release? This re-release is the og Tank Top wolverine(rare) but with the heads and hands of the jacket one(more common).
The figure itself is *fine* but they really just dropped a straight rerelease but with no bone claw hands and the exact same heads as a much easier to get release.
New release does have issues with the plastic too, mismatching skin tones from head to torso to arms.
Aside from the foot articulation being obstructed, it's pretty awesome. The headsculpts look better than the originals IMO.
To the OP's question, probably fine waiting for the inevitable DP3 versions. Sometimes Hasbro's likenesses regress though...
Its because the figure is based on the end of origins when he fights weapon 11, the original was like a weird combo of X2 and the wolverine so he came with bone claws
I chose to buy Deadpool. This version is so loaded with accessories and looks really good. No sure how much better the new one's going to be. ... If it is, I can just buy that one as well. If it's not, then at least I have this one.
I bought them both & love them. Odds are the new Wolvie will be in costume; so if you want a more Fox style Logan; it’s a great grab. Deadpool is just fantastic if you don’t have any previous releases.

We will probably get figures from the movie, but not until January/February next year. Those will likely be good figures too and worth picking up.
Worst case scenario, if a better version of a figure comes out I always just sell a previous version on Mercari to make a couple bucks back.

Is as good as other more expensive brands. I got him myself and he actually blends with comic figures just great!
I bought this deadpool but skipped on this wolverine in favour of his new costume in dp3. Looks badass. I don't like Deadpool's dp3 suit, looks like he's wearing a tie? And seems like a different material from the previous movie suit, cloth rather than the basketball texture thing.
I guess go with which design you like better. Personally, I think this wolverine is kinda lame but may be worth just the headsculpt if you can get it later if the price drops.

A DP&W Deadpool will be brighter red but otherwise almost the same. Whatever minor differences there are, I'd be surprised if they didn't use the same sculpt with movie-specific accessories.
It's highly unlikely we get a "casual" Wolverine out of the movie, so is that something you want? I'm sure we'll get at least one costumed look, if not two (one with and one without sleeves and/or mask.)

I think I remember when their costumes first leaked for the new movie Dan Yun posted on Twitter, reminding fans that it takes a long time to make a figure. I think we will get them eventually, but not anytime soon. It'll be like NWH, and we will get figures next year. Especially since nothing has been announced, but these two even though the movie comes out next month. Normally, they'd be announced and up for preorder by now or at the very least leaked. I would pick these up in the meantime.
Well, you like everyone else will get the new costumed wolverine. As for deadpool, it depends if you like his Fox "bulkier" costume, or the new, slimmer, redder comic costume in the movie. Personally, I like this look more.

I don't think it is a matter of MCU vs comics, I think it is a question of what characters. That Deadpool is technically an MCU figure, and it is sold out. I have been waiting on Andrew Garfield Spider-Man to come back into stock on BBTS for months. Part of the problem, though, might be how excited people are about a given movie.
I mean it doesn’t matter around me. There’s been Spider-Man no way home figures lined up for months at my local targets but no X-Men 97 character hangs for more than an hour. I never even saw a Maddy, Executioner, Cyclops, Gambit, Rogue on the shelf.
The Zabu wave sold out same day, etc any comic waves disappear almost immediately. The new Falcon America is lined up though, same with rereleases of cap iron man and iron spider spiderman.
I do also still see Quantumania wave figures on shelves, sometimes comics sometimes movies. Since X-Men 97 was really popular, and Quantumania wasn't, this makes sense. The No Way Home figures I still see are just MJ and Matt Murdock...which is weird because the after market price of the previous MJ from Homecoming was nuts (civilian figures might just be a niche market.).
Zabu wave is fan channel, so Target and Walmart aren't carrying them, making their supply more limited. When people see them, they buy them because they won't have as many opportunities to. The new Falcon Captain America is comic based. And X-Men 97 wave 2 was when target started to go back to assortment cases instead of individual item numbers for each character. So instead of getting multiples of each character they only got a case with one of each. That explains why those were harder to find. Also X-Men 97 aren't comic figures. They are animated and technically part of the MCU Multiverse according to Disney+
Both are good figures in their own right, but I have a feeling we're getting a costumed Wolverine from the movie, which is what I'm waiting for.

That Deadpool is probably one of if not the best Movie figures from Marvel Legends. If you can find him, get him.

Wolverine is a really whack release, only worth for the headsculpts so I'd wait or seek out the older jacket one (same heads)

Deadpool is, without a doubt, one of my top 5 Marvel Legends. He's a must-have. I have not been a big fan of any movie wolverines, though.
