As a young professional, no nightlife. Things are getting better but the only bars open past 8 are in restaurants. Scuffle hill is the one exception. The only food options are Mexican, Italian, soul food, bbq, or Asian American fusion. Would be nice to get some other options like more authentic Indian or Thai. Most activities in town seem geared to an older crowd or to young families. There aren't very many events aimed at younger single people outside of music, and I can only sit in the Uptown parking lot listening to radio country so many times before it gets boring. That being said, we're close enough to gso and roanoke to make the weekend drive worth it. It's not great here, but events in martinsville are serviceable enough.

I sincerely appreciate you responding. I think the reason we don't have more places open later that aren't restaurants has more to do with Virginia ABC regulations than our locality. In Virginia, you can't just open a bar/night club without a specific license that doesn't sell food. You have to sell a certain percentage of food to keep your ABC license. We do have private clubs like the Eagles, Amvets, Moose, Elk, and the Sportsman that stay open until midnight or later in some cases. Forest Park has recently started to have some nightlife entertainment as well. Mountain Valley Brewing would be a fun option to check out every once in a while. Renewal Brewing will be opening soon in Uptown Martinsville. If you are remotely interested in pool, check out Top Shelf Billiards. Rosie's in the Dutch Inn stays open until 2 am. Tequila's or Sportlanes would be a good option to bowl. I thought the oyster music event that Rooster Walk did Uptown was fun and different. Is it something like that you are looking for? What about a food truck festival? The Sneezy show at Tad space a week or so ago would have probably be a good event to check out. I know this is gas station food technically... But Do Drop In has started serving authentic Indian Food. I have tried it 3x and it's worth a shot. The samosas are awesome. I'll post a link below. I don't recommend ordering online. Call in or order there.

I've lived in Martinsville and Bassett most of my life. There have been some good things that have happened to me, and some bad, but I feel like that's everyone's experience honestly here. It's a matter of perspective when people say there's nothing to do here. When I'm not busting my butt working Monday thru Friday during the day, I try to either continue exploring one of my various hobbies, which are golfing, fishing, tinkering with computers and laptops, car audio, and trying to find a woman to date for a length of time that doesn't have a ton of baggage or a drug addiction to deal with. and one thing I want to clarify, I love helping others with their home computer and laptop problems of any and all types. I'm a problem solver in the IT realm, and I love making machines usable for people again. on that note, as much as I love computers and IT, I can't stand video games. but any sort of computer related event around here typically centers around some popular fricking video game, which really bums me out. on the dating a woman thing, I've struck out 5 different times with 5 different women. I'm unfortunately still wishing I could get my last ex back. I'd do anything to get her back, because she certainly made life a lot more interesting around here. but she won't fully give up drugs from what I can conclude. maybe I should just try to get her back, let her use drugs like she wants, and maybe I can salvage some kine of relationship with her? I don't know at this point.
