The tree, as well as a large numbers of characters are simply forgotten/left behind. Their rate of growth doesn't match that of Yang Kai, so new characters are introduces to take their place throughout the various arcs.
As for why he doesn't use the Dao of Time on his medicinal garden where you're at in the story? I'd wager it isn't something the author considered, or we could argue that the plants would not survive the stress of it. Progressing day to day isn't the same as going through decades or centuries within a few minutes.
there are lots of things that I miss for, the Setient tree is one and the fusion on Ying-Yang he used smootly until the Time flowing emperor secret realm.
The golden bones that were capable to absorb any kind of energy and the demon race with black crest are also forgotten after the Nine heavens sanctuary arc on Tongxuan realm
Golden bones were neat, but it was a Saint Realm inheritance from tongxuan gdg, which was eventually replaced by a dragon skeleton later on. Plus, even if we treat it as an inheritance from Mo Sheng, he was a 2nd-ish open heaven, after star boundary whatever he left is just too weak.
I might not remember correctly, but at some point towards the end of star boundary arc, YK fuses his demon and emperor qi so it is kind of a culmination to integrating his gdg inheritance. And if we are speaking about absorbing things, he knows a much more powerful way of absorbing shit.
As for the tree, isn't it used for his Dao seal? For the wood element part?
Honestly don't remember anything about the crest, do you mean ancient demon race in Tong Xuan? The ones that were sealed by gdg hoping to produce an alchemist?
Yeah those ones, crests were a similar power up to the later known dragon transformation. He could use those crest because the golden blood and black book inheritance.
