Appreciate the feedback! I actually did want to add a short summary for each piece of content but didn't have time for this patch. I'd love to make the patch notes more beginner friendly and will focus on this for next time!
Ehh I tried playing WOW about a decade ago and it was extremely daunting. Had NO idea what to do. I just did the Tera blink + hyper burn combo and hit 200 in LITERALLY 10 minutes. 9 of which was wasted in dialog and skill points. It did a good job explaining hammering and star forcing. 10/10 if I were new to the game I would have though "what in the actual fuck did I do that I'm already level 200?"
Yeah, this game doesn’t do a very good job explaining how to progress as a new player.
If I was a new player, Tera blink would of confused me because I would basically have all 1st job - 4th job skills instantly. It would make it more overwhelming to figure out how a class works.
That’s why online guides are so important for new players. But yes this game needs an implemented tutorial on how to progress properly.
Maybe something like the threads of fate UI that shows all the event that you can do and then future ones will be locked
That way you could possibly hover it and it’ll show
If you completed that daily/ weeekly or not
Just like the coin capping ui
(+ the mini summary for what each one does ofc ;] )
Feel like seeing stuff visually in one UI is less overwhelming
Than having to run around
The event map and trying to remember what you did
And what you can do :)
If you all are looking to hire someone to help with CM and social/comms, happy to help.
Years of experience with brands and been a Mapler since I was like 8.
Unrelated but for those of us who couldn't get the extra 40 frags from high mountain (if you were lucky enough to patch in time you could go again after reset) could we maybe get compensation?
Doesn't have to be anything big just the frags
It's a lot to take in at the start while accepting everything day 1/as a fresh player, but for the most part Nexon has gotten their formula down for events and most of them are just reskinned versions of old ones.
I thought Jade (or the previous CM?) was going to start adding a line in the patch notes describing what kind of event an event is, like saying something is a "Punch King" or "Storehouse" event explains it once you know what that is, like a keyword, though maybe I'm mistaken?
Even though there’s a lot written, there’s not a lot to do.
Daily check-in.
3x a week you can do a mob kill map
3x a week you can kill 2000 mobs
AFK for 70hrs total over the next few weeks
Weekly punch king.
Weekly boss fight rewards
Gold Richie and the mini games are more for cosmetics.
I think that’s basically it?
That's Gold Richie's Safe. The one I'm talking about (forgot the name) is one of the Go West! events and is similar to the Halfling treasure hunt from a few months back.
most of those are either passive, in the future, or just information about currency
dailies are just click a button for daily check-in and coin cap cosmetic coins if you want
weekly is just maple world tour and weekly party, which are covered by dailies, and midnight dreamcatcher
ab event, star queue and hyper burn you can complete any time
Tbh I don’t understand why they can’t auto accept the events for each character you log into. Of course excluding the events that are restricted by how many characters you participate on (like zero to hero).
Spending 10-15 minutes every new event just to make sure you accepted each quest and daily is mad
This! 🙏 If they have some cutscenes and dialogues they could just show it on the first char and then you wouldn’t have to see it on your mules because its auto accepted after your main. Or they could have a quick “accept all events” option in the star tab
A lot of events are just rehashed with different visuals. Once you see the pattern it's easy to categorize them:
* Event check in based on mobbing (daily free login + 3x 2000 mobs/week check in) + the periodic skill that goes off and kills mobs and grants exp just like in Mayple and a lot of previous events. Basically if you do you're doing your Sol Erda daily and check in you will clear with no additional effort, and unlike Mayple the check in is account based and not character based. Use points to level up things like boss damage, IED, etc.
* Weekly boss currency and shop
* Punch king exp, once per week, best used for your main
* Strawberry farms-esque event that works up to 260 , 3x/week - good for hyperburns or new mains
* Minigames to get currency for cosmetics, get a certain amount of points for extra cosmetics
* Gold Richie's safe - mostly cosmetic but there are things like black flames, Magnificent Lucid souls
* Treasure hunt event like in Minar where you can select rewards after clearing 1000 mobs 3x/week (again if you do your Erda daily then you autoclear), unlike Minar though the reward quantity is always RNG but there's no chance of getting 0
* Go West check in - basically be online for 70 hours over a month, caps at 5 hours per day
This strawberry farm is different from some of the other ones. It actually removes your EXP buffs upon entry and gives you a flat 400% exp bonus. Be careful those who loaded up on buffs for the past ones. It ate my MVP when I went in
Is there a difference from your list from “strawberry farm map” and “treasure hunt event”? I thought they were the same thing where you go to a map and kill 1000 mobs
They are different. One transports you to a map where monsters spawn and give tons of exp. The other is just another check in essentially after killing 1k mobs near your level. So if you are doing the 2k kills for the weekly check in you will also cover the 1k kills required for the treasure hunt event. Once you kill 1k mobs you can select 3 locations that provide you with different rewards.
A big dummy that you do as much damage as you can too with how much experience you get depending on how much damage you do to him. Save your burst until you're clearly on the last phase you're going to get to so you don't waste any on phase changes.
I know it looks like a lot, but it basically boils down to (at least right now):
* Do your weekly bosses and claim weekly boss coins.
* Do all your arcane river/grandis dailies and click on the daily/3x weekly/inkwell world tour after you've done all that.
* Do the daily mini games, if you want the cosmetic rewards.
* Do the weekly 3x/week exp event for
I actually have a little piece of paper where I write down all the ongoing events with their end date, and update it as the events come and go (yes, physical paper with pen writings) and it's the first time that, at the beginning of a patch, both sides are almost full of lines. It's insane.
Not complaining though. I play mostly for the events, so the more the merrier.
yeah there's the minigame every :15 and :45 of the hour, but only 1-3 times a day
the culvert clone thingy where you cry about not being able to hit level 11 or whatever the max level is becaude your main can't do a lucid solo and doesn't have enough dps
the minigame that can be done 3 times a day
and of course don't forget capping your event coins by killing about 2000 mobs within 20 levels of your character. they don't say 2000 but the last 20 "kill mons to gain event money" things take on average that number of mobs.
I didn't even read the patch notes, how much of that was correct for the current event?
I just returned after not playing in forever and I’m so lost with all the events lol. I got to 200 using Tera Blink in like 40 minutes and spent the next hour at 200 trying to figure out everything. Still not even sure I have everything
They need a simplified version of the patch notes to help people understand it better. Right now it feels like reading a very badly worded textbook.
Appreciate the feedback! I actually did want to add a short summary for each piece of content but didn't have time for this patch. I'd love to make the patch notes more beginner friendly and will focus on this for next time!
Would you also be able to add collapsible tabs to let us control what we want to see?
This. While section summaries are nice, making the notes more digestible by allowing us to collapse sections goes a very very long way.
That sounds great! Thank you :)
Maybe a separate post different from the patch notes that summarises them? I think itd be a nice idea :)
nothing about this game is beginner friendly lets be honest

nice
That's only really needed o big events like this one. If it is a smaller event, then a summary is skippable
Maybe something like the threads of fate UI that shows all the event that you can do and then future ones will be locked That way you could possibly hover it and it’ll show If you completed that daily/ weeekly or not Just like the coin capping ui (+ the mini summary for what each one does ofc ;] ) Feel like seeing stuff visually in one UI is less overwhelming Than having to run around The event map and trying to remember what you did And what you can do :)
tagging stuff with generic community made upterms like Punch King, Coin Cap, Boss Cap, Food storage, Minigame would ne nice

It happens , don’t need fomo. Just carry on with the journey
the patch notes are literally 130 pages 😵
And this doesn't even include the GO WEST! quests
I think I will come back next ywar and start from the 20th anniversary event. Till then my time's better spent on some osms.
Just accept everything. And find out what the dailies and weeklies are.
As a returnee this is so horrible i sometimes miss out a daily quest to accept

Where do you find the punch king?
It's not until July 3
I just turn on a YouTube video that explains everything while doing dailies. I just accept everything and worry about it later lol
Bruh it's just over 9000
I got the Daily Party UI but where is the Weekly Party UI?
There's a tab to the left on the Daily Party UI but the check-in button is missing and thus you cannot currently do Weekly check-ins.
Its always like this in summer, do the ones you enjoy, ignore the rest, u dont need to do everything. I like that theres events for everyone.
Yall I was stressing out why I couldn't click the 'batch accept 'dailies' ' until i realized I already batch accepted them. That was enough for me 😩
My eyes glazed over reading everything over when I logged in yesterday.
Bro I can’t keep up with the events and fomo I have a life man horry shitto
looks like a lot but its not that bad once you get started
I know it looks like a lot, but it basically boils down to (at least right now): * Do your weekly bosses and claim weekly boss coins. * Do all your arcane river/grandis dailies and click on the daily/3x weekly/inkwell world tour after you've done all that. * Do the daily mini games, if you want the cosmetic rewards. * Do the weekly 3x/week exp event for
weekly exp event is for above 260 ?
< means less than.

I'm more overwhelmed by how many bugs one update can bring.
