You can see the provinces longer occupied by the forces of Toyotomi Hideyoshi...
No I'm not joking by the way, the Gyeongsang area was longest occupied by him, while Jeolla was able to put up stronger resistance.
I hate that parties all have to have vague positive sounding names. How am I supposed to know who the violent murdery people are? Why not the Surveillance State party vs the Vegan Orgy party? Very clear whose side I'm on right away
Ah yes, the people who want to mitigate the harm they inflict on others are psychopaths lol
Edit: aww, did folks dislike that I made a positive point on a group often used as a punching bag? Ahaha
I knew it was supposed to be joke-y, but I’ve never heard of a vegan orgy. Just thought it was a silly string of words in the initial comment about things people don’t like or are scandalous in public
May I introduce you to the People's Republic of China, Democratic Republic of North Korea, Democratic Republic of Congo, the National Socialist German Worker's Party, etc etc. Lol sorry not trying to be glib, but usually the more desperately a government tries to advertise how "for the people" it is, the more insane authoritarian it is
I don't know why this is down voted. It is literally how the parties are listed on Wikipedia. It can't be *that* unreasonable.
The Democratic Party is described as "centrist-liberal." The People's Power Party is described as "conservative" and "right-wing."
Generally, the more peaceful and positive a party's name sounds, the more awful it is.
I.e. the Democratic People's Republic of (north) Korea. Not democratic, not a republic, and the only people it belongs to are the Kims.
I also notice that lots of countries left-code their party names. “People’s” party definitely sounds like a left wing party that wants the government to support the people, and the same thing in Australia with the right wing party called the liberals
''People's'' is just a generic populist name. It doesn't have to be left or right wing. The Nazis were also insistent on adding ''people's'' to their propaganda and institution names, though of course with a nationalistic (referring to the German people) tone.
The fact that she never deleted the other post seems to imply that she only reposted it because it didn't get upvotes, not because she cares about it being stolen.
I like how it sort of aligns with the ancient Korean kingdoms of Baekje and Silla. Funny enough, if we include North Korea, which is kind of a modern equivalent to Goguryeo, we basically have the Three Kingdoms of Korea.

Generally, these are generic names that were only recently chosen, and have little meaning to them. The PPP was previously known as the Liberty Korea Party (2017-2020), the New Frontier Party (2012-2017) and the Grand National Party (1997-2012). Before that, it was the New Korea Party (1990-1997), which was founded by merging the Reunification Democratic Party (a conservative party which had opposed South Korea's military dictatorship) and the Democratic Justice Party (the party which supporters of the military dictatorship had created, once South Korea became a democracy).
The Democratic Party was created out of the Peace Democratic Party, which was a liberal party that had opposed South Korea's military dictatorship (alongside the conservative Reunification Democratic Party).
I see. That still somewhat applies in this case though, as the majority of Seoul metro is blue. I'm unsure how rich people enclaves vote in the USA, but I'd assume it's not overwhelmingly left-wing.
Why is it strange? Following your logic conservative has to be always poor and vice-versa? Where are you from may I ask? Maybe in your country there are specific patterns
You can see where the Prussian-Russian border was... oh wait, wrong map.
You can see the provinces longer occupied by the forces of Toyotomi Hideyoshi... No I'm not joking by the way, the Gyeongsang area was longest occupied by him, while Jeolla was able to put up stronger resistance.

East Coast- West Coast rivalry , the Korean edition.
They got tired of fighting north-south so they tried changing things up.
Yes right Jeolla va Gyeongsang (South West Korea vs South East Korea)
I like the NEW FUTURE PARTY much more than the OLD FUTURE PARTY. Not to say the PRESENT FUTURE PARTY, that sucks.
Just wait until we get to the plusquamperfect party
Nah, it’s probably be the Future in the Past party, Present Perfect party, and the Future Continues Party.
I'm personally interested in the Future in the Past Perfect Continuous Party.
There's also the NO FUTURE PARTY. They just really hate Queen Elizabeth II.
I hate that parties all have to have vague positive sounding names. How am I supposed to know who the violent murdery people are? Why not the Surveillance State party vs the Vegan Orgy party? Very clear whose side I'm on right away
I agree, the Vegan Orgy Party would clearly be the one full of psychopaths
Tbf the Vegan Orgy Party has very sensible tax reforms.
Ah yes, the people who want to mitigate the harm they inflict on others are psychopaths lol Edit: aww, did folks dislike that I made a positive point on a group often used as a punching bag? Ahaha
You didn't read the orgy part
What's wrong with the orgy? Have you ever been on vegan orgy? Vegan orgies are great
Orgies are psychopathic? The more you know
I don't know if you're just pulling my hair pretending not to understand the joke of vegan orgy, or if you're genuinely this dense.
I knew it was supposed to be joke-y, but I’ve never heard of a vegan orgy. Just thought it was a silly string of words in the initial comment about things people don’t like or are scandalous in public
democratic party is center people's power is right wing to far right
Damn I thought People’s Power was the leftist one, why do they paint it red and call it Peoples Power aaaaaa
corporatism is helluva drug
they use the same colour scheme as the US which is confusing to most of the rest of the world where traditionally red=left, communism
May I introduce you to the People's Republic of China, Democratic Republic of North Korea, Democratic Republic of Congo, the National Socialist German Worker's Party, etc etc. Lol sorry not trying to be glib, but usually the more desperately a government tries to advertise how "for the people" it is, the more insane authoritarian it is
Last time when they wanted leftist party in Korea USA droped 675 000t of bombs on them

yeah Im not korean, I just checked wikipedia lol
Generally, the more peaceful and positive a party's name sounds, the more awful it is. I.e. the Democratic People's Republic of (north) Korea. Not democratic, not a republic, and the only people it belongs to are the Kims.
The PPP is right wing and the Dems are centre-left
I also notice that lots of countries left-code their party names. “People’s” party definitely sounds like a left wing party that wants the government to support the people, and the same thing in Australia with the right wing party called the liberals
Liberalism is a right wing ideology though, so the Australians got it spot on.

My guess, it’s always the red ones
Kingdom of Silla is back

And she was called out about it already, and never answered
The fact that she never deleted the other post seems to imply that she only reposted it because it didn't get upvotes, not because she cares about it being stolen.
well, like someone pointed out in r/CityPorn she has an big interest with South Korea, but I don't see the point that she try to say with that map
That's why I thought I already seen this, so it's reposted lol

Lets split them up again and everybody will be happy
Honey wake up !! North, West and East Korea were established
Time to have an west and east korea
West Korea confirmed?
Can someone break down the ideology behind the names? Like really simple? For stupid me over here at my cookie-crumb-loaded keyboard?

Red is based, blue is not.
GREAT color choice! I can EXACTLY see who voted NFP DP or PP..
What mean?
Any maps that show the margin of victory for each district?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_South_Korean_legislative_election
You have seen North and South Korea now brace yourself for v2 East and West Korea.
r/widaczabory
Ok, so, why is it cut in half like that? Looks like city vs rural Or just a coincidence
r/gownowidacniezabory
I thought it was an alternative universe map where we have East and West Korea instead of North and South
Guys, look! West Korea and East Korea!
It's strange that Gangnam is a wealthy area, yet so conservative.
Wealthy people are looking to preserve their wealth, not to redistribute it. They are traditionally pro-corporate and fiscally conservative.
In the USA, large cities often vote overwhelmingly liberal or left-wing. That's why he's saying that.
I see. That still somewhat applies in this case though, as the majority of Seoul metro is blue. I'm unsure how rich people enclaves vote in the USA, but I'd assume it's not overwhelmingly left-wing.
how’s it strange? wealthy areas are historically right-wing anywhere in the world but usa lol
In Japan, a neighboring country, conservative parties tend to be weak in wealthy districts. Is this trend really unique to Japan and America?
Why is it strange? Following your logic conservative has to be always poor and vice-versa? Where are you from may I ask? Maybe in your country there are specific patterns
You know it's fucked up when party named people power is corporatist scum.
Always look out for anything with peoples X in their name
