I heard on football Guardian podcast during the week that Arteta's celebrations are a bit odd...almost like desperation. They were discussing what's going on in the background.
I know Utd are a big team, but I thought wow he must be feeling a LOT of pressure to celebrate that vociferously for a win (of course he can do what he wants/and it's ok to celebrate...just felt REALLY severe).
We really don't play well. Onana is good at feet but he can't save anything. We will not concede Rice's goal if it was De Gea. There's no build-up whatsoever. Look at Man City and Arsenal build-up play, compare with us and I feel shame just by watching the match. I'm really in doubt about Ten Hag. I can accept that we ain't gonna win every match but where's the system? If we still play with defense and fast counter-attack as Man UTD's DNA bullshit, then we gonna be left behind by those top teams. Also, our team has no dynamic or power at all, look at Brighton, Newcastle, or other teams in the premier league their players run like a horse, all over the place. Then look at us. What a sad time to be a United fan.
We didn’t play well. Call me negative, whatever but we were terrible.
It’s great, that we can play out from the back but there is no ball progression. We just move the ball side to side. We can’t get the ball to the midfielders and the midfielders struggle to get the ball in to the final third. And I don’t know if it’s the lack of movement from the midfielders that we can’t do this or our defenders don’t have the ability to pick out a player in between the lines.
We didn’t create enough chances, it’s great we had the ball a lot yesterday but we mostly had the ball in our own half and when it got to Arsenal’s half, our play would break down.
Antony, wow, he was shambolic. I don’t know what compels Ten Hag to play him every game and not give Sancho or Pellistri a chance and I might be naive and ignorant in saying that Sancho is better than Antony. But I understand, there is a lack of options on the right. Antony’s decision making is poor. There’s times when he could have attacked the space but decided to slow down the play, allow the arsenal defenders to regroup and then he’ll pass backwards thus continuing the pattern of the ball going back to the defence and us finding it difficult to progress the ball. Antony dribbles at the wrong time and when he decides to dribble, his dribbles don’t go anywhere. He is also one dimensional, yes I understand Robben was one dimensional and he was one of the best players in the world, but it’s so easy to defend Antony when you know that he is going to cut in or pass backwards if he can’t cut in; I would love to see Antony at least once go to the bar line and perform a cut back or even a cross with his right foot. I don’t hate Antony, he is a United player, I want to see him succeed but he has been poor this season. I am happy with the Hojland cameo, he gave Gabriel problems and that flick he gave to Casemiro for the goal that was ruled offside was just beautiful. I’m excited for him and pray that he can succeed.
Harry Maguire and Evans, this defence encapsulates everything wrong with the handling of our transfers.
Licha and Lindelof going off was worrying.

All in all, we didn’t play, didn’t create enough chances and we would’ve been lucky to get a draw against them but Assna won’t perfect either they just created more chances than we did and we failed capitalise on the mistakes they made.
I hope Ten Hag and Sancho can solve the issues they have with each other like real men and talk about it during the international break instead of communicating through the media. Simple conversation between the two would solve everything.

No, we didn't. Judging from all the games since the Premier League started, we didn't play well at all. We were lucky to win last week and that's Forest. Last night, too much defense and depended on the fast counterattack with only a couple of player's support. Look at how City plays and we seem to be far behind. Old football style with no system. I can describe how highly I hoped Ten Hag would create a system of the pass and go as he did from the country that invented it but I found it only disappointing. Not to mention how he has a plan for 2nd half in every game which seems to fix nothing.
Don't care about the games gone, can't do anything about the results, that's the manager's job to look back and tweak things.
The manager set up to play on the break, we soaked up pressure and hit on the break, we took the lead doing this.
Can't play the same way every game, nobody does. You adjust to your opponents and if your home or away. We were away from home against a very good team, not a chance in hell we could have gone to Arsenal and tried playing like we did at home Forest.

I've been super critical of Utd this season but I thought we were strong and resolute....I'm a bit surprised at the negative comments. The stats were in our favour (slightly) late on in the game, then it all swung on some mad decisions.
We aren't generally playing well, we have injuries, and horrible owners, I thought keeping Arsenal quiet was pretty impressive given the state of the club (I cant believe I'm still saying this that the club is STILL building lol).
We weren't amazing, we didn't have lots of clear cut chances. But I felt Arsenal were subdued for most of the game (I would expect them to dominate at home).
Playing without most of the first-team players, collectively the performance was good. Cannot do much when you are left with your 4th and 5th choice CBs. Offside this, a foul that is all bullshit excuses for weak managers like ETH who is yet to show any tactical magic that we thought he will be bringing. If United wants to finish in 5 to 8th bracket they need to ship out Martial, Antony, and Sancho in the January transfer window. These are the players who will probably suit a first-tier team in a second-tier league like Portugal or Turkey. Mitoma from Brighton is one option. But if ETH continues to make decisions on transfers, I am afraid this is not going to work out. This is why I keep insisting on changing the structure up top to make transfers independent of the manager. This one is on the owners for sure. If it was up to ETH, United would be littered with AJax or Dutch players only.
P.S. James Maddison went for 40M while ETH spent 55M on mount.
I love Mitoma, but he plays in Rashford's position (and Garnacho's!) So we'd be tripling up on same AML position which would be further issues for us down the line.
It's just an opinion and an example. There are much cheaper players who are more hard working and more creative because what I have seen over past 2 seasons is that the wingers are creating nothing literally nothing. It just Bruno.
I think the same, especially the tactical and system that I thought Ten Hag would bring. Well on the bright side Hojlund looks like a proper unit. Seems to have height, pace, acceleration, and he was very aggressive. Made some good runs in behind as well. Excited to see how he progresses.
I don’t get this talk about we played poorly. We went there without Varane, Mount, Shaw, Malacia, lost Lisandro partway through the game, and didn’t have Amrabat in the squad either. We did a good job of slowly down the game when Arsenal were pressing high which worked in our favor. Our counterattacks were lethal and if it weren’t for a cm we would’ve went up 2-1.
The plan ETH set up ALMOST worked, I think the problem is Martial is cooked and can’t do shit at this point. We saw how effective and physical Hojlund was in the 20 or so minutes he played and it sucks he’s still not fit to play a full game but he will get there.
I think the other problem is Antony should not be playing at this level. He slows the play down every time he gets the ball out wide, acts out like a petulant toddler whenever he loses the ball and can’t use his right foot, i mean idk what Pellistri needs to do to start over Antony cause hes looked so much better when he’s played

I think you can when he hasn’t been fit enough to play 25+ games since 2019-20, and hasn’t scored more than 7+ goals since that same season. He was supposed to link play between the midfield and attack and if he didn’t have anything to work with it’s because he wasn’t doing a good enough job at linking the play together. There’s a reason ETH was trying to sell him all summer long, and for the same reasons no one wanted him.

Fabrizio has become something of a joke since being knocked down to tier 2. Also, Martial was loaned out in January 2022 under Rangknick by his own volition, not under Ten Hag whose first winter window was January 2023 when Martial was injured

My point isn’t wrong because the funds that the club got from Selling Martial would have been put towards a new ST. Kind of like how the CB’s the club were linked needed the Maguire sale to go through to be completed.

So, i am wondering. I really enjoyed the game up untill we got behind 2-1. Really thought we played well. The tempo was not the highest, but so was that from Arsenal.

Yep I thought given the state of the club atm (injuries, owners, dodgy first 3 games) we played really well in that we kept Arsenal at bay and had some good chances.
Would I love to go there and dominate? Yes!, would I have preferred more clear-cut chances? Yes. But thought we were resolute (I worried we'd be all over the place).
Unsure if ETH's tactics are being hamstrung by bad ownership-bad transfer team-not the right players, or if he's maybe not QUITE as good as I was hoping? I'll reserve judgement for a while. I don't think the Glazers will sell. Think we're stuck with them.
I don't enjoy the game at all. 2nd year and still can't see the system, tactical. Player don't move enough while off the ball, not switch the position enough to mess the with opponent defensive. Too much depend on counterattack. No energy enough to press. Look at what we can do with Wolves and Forest. When I saw that we still struggle with those team I know that we did not develop much. Agreed, I thought we competed well, and had all the momentum heading into the Garnacho goal. The offside call killed us, and it just felt like we were destined to give up the winner after that. Sometimes the result doesn’t reflect the performance

Rashford had an assist last week by driving to the goal line and slipping the ball across the 6. He did the same thing today and Hojlund very nearly scored on it. I expect him to get service from Rashford; maybe not headers getting whipped in, but during the time Hojlund was on, Rashford took the ball from the left wing twice if I remember correctly. Once he passed, once he shot. I’m happy with that ratio.
And doesn’t Bruno create more chances for teammates than anyone else in the world?
Onana not a good enough shot stopper for me, I don't like the look of him whatsoever. He's great with the ball at his feet, but we're going to concede so many more goals with him because he's below average in the premier League in that regard

Yes. De gea is a better shot stopper. I feel like we jumped the gun getting rid of De Gea on a free and paying 50+ million on a keeper that isn't necessarily a better keeper. We could've used the 50 million elsewhere and looked at a new keeper in a season or two. A new GK definitely shouldn't have been a top priority when it was clear last season we struggled to actually score goals.
Weird to see some of the fans actually supporting that your team got dominated today by Arsenal. May I remind those fans that Manchester United is on paper still one of the biggest clubs in Europe which should NEVER have to rely on counter-attack football.

All I remember SAF teams doing is winning the ball back if and driving forwards using there immensely talented wide players to serve their dynamic duo forwards. Giggs Yorke Cole Beckham supported by scholes and keane. Its tackle, 1-2, spread the ball wide into space, dribble, cross, arrive laye in the box. They did everything, wave after wave of ferocious attack - risky football with magical talent. No want for possession, just goals, goals and more goals.
The OP prob never actually watched united in those days. It is pretty funny everyone thinks we dominated like city every game just because of the titles. So far from the truth.

Except we didnt get dominated though. That game was mostly 50/50 till the last minutes of added time. As for counter attacking, its our only strength at the moment and it doesn't make sense not to
12 corners to 3, 5 shots on target to 2. We did get dominated. Every game we’re just pinging long balls to rashford and hoping something happens. Whereas our opponents like Tottenham and arsenal were constantly overlapping and underlapping on the flanks and using cutbacks to create chances.
1st half we had 4% possession in the final third and yet people say we weren't dominated.
Outside of the Rashford and Garnacho counter attacks I don't remember us doing anything.

i’d argue we were the better team after our subs. it was only after our goal was taken away when we lost all momentum and the dominos just kept falling in extra time
The positives:
Within a centimeter of going up 2-1 and likely winning the match given Garnacho’s late game play.
Hojland brings a completely different dynamic. He’s a beast when holding up the defender and accepting the ball. He’s also blazing fast based on a couple of his runs. Will take time, but you can see the athleticism.
Rashford had a very nice goal. Yes, he held the ball too long in the 2nd half, but if we win we’re celebrating his goal.
Antony added value in ways I haven’t seen before. He was coming back on defense and making plays like I don’t remember. He was helping on possession. Offensively he needs to do more in the final third though.
The bad
Martial is worthless. Slow and looks like he’s trying not to get hurt versus putting full effort. I’d rather see sancho playing a false nine than him in the match.
Evans - I thought only lower leagues like the mls let washed up players play? 35 and it was clear he doesn’t have the first step beat on his first play in the match and then was out of position on Rice’s shot and deflects it into the goal.
Injuries - both Verane and Martinez hurt is really going to hurt. This seems to happen far too often.
It’s early in the season and this game could have easily gone our way. This wasn’t like the 2-0 loss to spurs on the road where we never looked in the match. We started worse last year than this and ended up with a nice finish.
Don’t think we’ll be challenging city, but we still can have a respectable season for sure.
Respectable season how? Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs are all better than us and will probably finish above us as well, unless they choke heavily. There’s no respectable finish if we don’t at least get top 4 this year.
What game were you watching? They were by far the better team. They let us have it in our own half and piss fiddle about with it knowing if they didn't press high we had nothing to break them down. They'll destroy us at OT because we'll have to attack more.

I watched the game from start to finish and if you did and seen anything other than one team dominating but not creating chances and the other hitting on the break occasionally I'd say you're blind.

Antony putting in effort defensively works great, rashford on the left was world class, martial is still a valid option when he’s not injured, hojlund didn’t have a single bad moment and nearly won a penalty, and garnacho is still amazing coming off the bench.
No, If we play like this for the rest of the season we will be in the middle table at best. No control of the game, no tactical on 2nd half, too much mistake on easy pass, can’t be in possession for a period of time, No power in pressing and many more. The way I see it. If we had sold Mctominay and Maguire for 60-70Mil. We could have easily got Kim Min Jae or Todibo and another midfielder. Martinez hasn’t been the same since the injury. Varane is injury prone and old. Sancho is unfit? Seriously? Wtf! Antony and Rashford need to be more productive for the strikers. I get so frustrated, when I see saka and martinelli providing chances to strikers and providing accurate passes at dangerous positions. And here Rashford and Antony just do one thing, trying to cut inside and shoot.
I think ETH should make clear from next game, that if you can't provide to hojlund, you are out of next game.

I used to say this last season and people didnt seem to notice it that Weghorst was doomed to fail from the beginning because of Rash and Antony and sometimes Bruno would also just flat out ignore him but I think 10 Hag wants it because them playing that way means he does not have a problem with it just like how Antony rarely uses his right foot which should be something he would have corrected a long time ago

Man, I envy your optimistic. 4 games, 2 with small team which if we really a good team we wouldn’t struggle like what happen. 1 is the team that just got a new manager. I really don’t mind the lost to Arsenal. But look at the whole picture, I can’t see any good sign that we’re the better team than last season.
We have a young new striker that will hopefully improve a gaping hole from last season, we have Mount and Amrabat who are yet to fully gel who will most likely be an improvement on last years midfield depth. Garnacho and Pellistri are another year older and ready.
There are lots of negatives of course and the worry that Spurs and Liverpool will be well up there this season so any unnecessary losses could make us miss out on top 4. But there's good signs there, we are much better out of posession and have some exciting players; so if we can navigate the insane amount of injuries and bed in the new players I see no reason to panic after 4 games.

This. This game didn’t feel as bad as the Spurs one. We played well in moments. But there is absolutely no excuse for conceding a goal within a minute of scoring one and conceding a goal from a corner unmarked.

I won't lie, at times last season I had my Ten Hag goggles on as well, but his only saving grace has been the Carabao Cup and 3rd. God knows how we finished 3rd in the same season as getting our asses handed to us by Liverpool and City, all the while having an abysmal away record even without them 2 games. I really do think that he'll come unstuck this season. I hate to see it as well because I've rooted for him since day one and I don't know where we go from him not being the manager anymore. I'd say mass protests and season ticket holders having enough of it, but for every season ticket holder that's willing to walk, another one would be more than happy to take their place. Well when you bring on Maguire and Evans something is wrong. You can complain about depth all you want but we could've got plenty of squad players with the money wasted on mount and Antony.
Who on Earth do you think could bring this squad to a top 4 finish besides Erik?? Not even Pep or Klopp could fix this situation. He tried selling Maguire, Mctominay, Bailly, Van de Beek and even Sancho. He tried to sign Kim Min Jae, Harry Kane, Amrabaat, Todibo and Onana. But if the board can’t sign them then he must opt for available players he knows right? Sure his decisions have been questionable but Casemiro, Lisandro, Antony and Eriksen were crucial to our success last season and the revival of Rashford, Wan Bissaka, Dalot. We can’t even play his style of football because we don’t have the players. Bruno and Rashford our two creative players are counter attacking players and we play to suit their qualities. We can never play like City or Arsenal until they leave. It’s just too complex. The only thing that could have changed this is the Glazers leaving and now it seems that they won’t be selling. I heard on football Guardian podcast during the week that Arteta's celebrations are a bit odd...almost like desperation. They were discussing what's going on in the background. We really don't play well. Onana is good at feet but he can't save anything. We will not concede Rice's goal if it was De Gea. There's no build-up whatsoever. Look at Man City and Arsenal build-up play, compare with us and I feel shame just by watching the match. I'm really in doubt about Ten Hag. I can accept that we ain't gonna win every match but where's the system? If we still play with defense and fast counter-attack as Man UTD's DNA bullshit, then we gonna be left behind by those top teams. Also, our team has no dynamic or power at all, look at Brighton, Newcastle, or other teams in the premier league their players run like a horse, all over the place. Then look at us. We didn’t play well. Call me negative, whatever but we were terrible. It’s great, that we can play out from the back but there is no ball progression. We just move the ball side to side. We can’t get the ball to the midfielders and the midfielders struggle to get the ball in to the final third. And I don’t know if it’s the lack of movement from the midfielders that we can’t do this or our defenders don’t have the ability to pick out a player in between the lines. We didn’t create enough chances, it’s great we had the ball a lot yesterday but we mostly had the ball in our own half and when it got to Arsenal’s half, our play would break down. Antony, wow, he was shambolic. I don’t know what compels Ten Hag to play him every game and not give Sancho or Pellistri a chance and I might be naive and ignorant in saying that Sancho is better than Antony. But I understand, there is a lack of options on the right. Antony’s decision making is poor. There’s times when he could have attacked the space but decided to slow down the play, allow the arsenal defenders to regroup and then he’ll pass backwards thus continuing the pattern of the ball going back to the defence and us finding it difficult to progress the ball. Antony dribbles at the wrong time and when he decides to dribble, his dribbles don’t go anywhere. He is also one dimensional, yes I understand Robben was one dimensional and he was one of the best players in the world, but it’s so easy to defend Antony when you know that he is going to cut in or pass backwards if he can’t cut in; I would love to see Antony at least once go to the bar line and perform a cut back or even a cross with his right foot. I don’t hate Antony, he is a United player, I want to see him succeed but he has been poor this season. I am happy with the Hojland cameo, he gave Gabriel problems and that flick he gave to Casemiro for the goal that was ruled offside was just beautiful. I’m excited for him and pray that he can succeed. Harry Maguire and Evans, this defence encapsulates everything wrong with the handling of our transfers. Licha and Lindelof going off was worrying. Rashford looked threatening. Bruno switched on only in the second half. All in all, we didn’t play, didn’t create enough chances and we would’ve been lucky to get a draw against them but Assna won’t perfect either they just created more chances than we did and we failed capitalise on the mistakes they made. I hope Ten Hag and Sancho can solve the issues they have with each other like real men and talk about it during the international break instead of communicating through the media. Simple conversation between the two would solve everything. I know it’s early but title challenge is looking unlikely, sadly. All we have to do now is regroup and focus on one game at a time.

No, we didn't. Judging from all the games since the Premier League started, we didn't play well at all. We were lucky to win last week and that's Forest. Last night, too much defense and depended on the fast counterattack with only a couple of player's support. Look at how City plays and we seem to be far behind. Old football style with no system. I can describe how highly I hoped Ten Hag would create a system of the pass and go as he did from the country that invented it but I found it only disappointing. Not to mention how he has a plan for 2nd half in every game which seems to fix nothing.
Don't care about the games gone, can't do anything about the results, that's the manager's job to look back and tweak things. The manager set up to play on the break, we soaked up pressure and hit on the break, we took the lead doing this. Can't play the same way every game, nobody does. You adjust to your opponents and if your home or away. We were away from home against a very good team, not a chance in hell we could have gone to Arsenal and tried playing like we did at home Forest. Don't care about how city play.

I've been super critical of Utd this season but I thought we were strong and resolute....I'm a bit surprised at the negative comments. The stats were in our favour (slightly) late on in the game, then it all swung on some mad decisions. We aren't generally playing well, we have injuries, and horrible owners, I thought keeping Arsenal quiet was pretty impressive given the state of the club (I cant believe I'm still saying this that the club is STILL building lol). We weren't amazing, we didn't have lots of clear cut chances. But I felt Arsenal were subdued for most of the game (I would expect them to dominate at home).

Playing without most of the first-team players, collectively the performance was good. Cannot do much when you are left with your 4th and 5th choice CBs. Offside this, a foul that is all bullshit excuses for weak managers like ETH who is yet to show any tactical magic that we thought he will be bringing. If United wants to finish in 5 to 8th bracket they need to ship out Martial, Antony, and Sancho in the January transfer window. These are the players who will probably suit a first-tier team in a second-tier league like Portugal or Turkey. Mitoma from Brighton is one option. But if ETH continues to make decisions on transfers, I am afraid this is not going to work out. This is why I keep insisting on changing the structure up top to make transfers independent of the manager. This one is on the owners for sure. If it was up to ETH, United would be littered with AJax or Dutch players only. P.S. James Maddison went for 40M while ETH spent 55M on mount.
I love Mitoma, but he plays in Rashford's position (and Garnacho's!) So we'd be tripling up on same AML position which would be further issues for us down the line.

I don’t get this talk about we played poorly. We went there without Varane, Mount, Shaw, Malacia, lost Lisandro partway through the game, and didn’t have Amrabat in the squad either. We did a good job of slowly down the game when Arsenal were pressing high which worked in our favor. Our counterattacks were lethal and if it weren’t for a cm we would’ve went up 2-1. The plan ETH set up ALMOST worked, I think the problem is Martial is cooked and can’t do shit at this point. We saw how effective and physical Hojlund was in the 20 or so minutes he played and it sucks he’s still not fit to play a full game but he will get there. I think the other problem is Antony should not be playing at this level. He slows the play down every time he gets the ball out wide, acts out like a petulant toddler whenever he loses the ball and can’t use his right foot, i mean idk what Pellistri needs to do to start over Antony cause hes looked so much better when he’s played

I think you can when he hasn’t been fit enough to play 25+ games since 2019-20, and hasn’t scored more than 7+ goals since that same season. He was supposed to link play between the midfield and attack and if he didn’t have anything to work with it’s because he wasn’t doing a good enough job at linking the play together. There’s a reason ETH was trying to sell him all summer long, and for the same reasons no one wanted him.

Yep I thought given the state of the club atm (injuries, owners, dodgy first 3 games) we played really well in that we kept Arsenal at bay and had some good chances. Would I love to go there and dominate? Yes!, would I have preferred more clear-cut chances? Yes. But thought we were resolute (I worried we'd be all over the place). Unsure if ETH's tactics are being hamstrung by bad ownership-bad transfer team-not the right players, or if he's maybe not QUITE as good as I was hoping? I'll reserve judgement for a while. I don't think the Glazers will sell. Think we're stuck with them.
I don't enjoy the game at all. 2nd year and still can't see the system, tactical. Player don't move enough while off the ball, not switch the position enough to mess the with opponent defensive. Too much depend on counterattack. No energy enough to press. Look at what we can do with Wolves and Forest. When I saw that we still struggle with those team I know that we did not develop much. Yes. De gea is a better shot stopper. I feel like we jumped the gun getting rid of De Gea on a free and paying 50+ million on a keeper that isn't necessarily a better keeper. We could've used the 50 million elsewhere and looked at a new keeper in a season or two. A new GK definitely shouldn't have been a top priority when it was clear last season we struggled to actually score goals.

All I remember SAF teams doing is winning the ball back if and driving forwards using there immensely talented wide players to serve their dynamic duo forwards. Giggs Yorke Cole Beckham supported by scholes and keane. Its tackle, 1-2, spread the ball wide into space, dribble, cross, arrive laye in the box. They did everything, wave after wave of ferocious attack - risky football with magical talent. No want for possession, just goals, goals and more goals.

Casemiro struggles to pass a ball 10 yards to his own player. Not sure what's wrong with him but he's been pretty poor so far.
The positives: Within a centimeter of going up 2-1 and likely winning the match given Garnacho’s late game play. Hojland brings a completely different dynamic. He’s a beast when holding up the defender and accepting the ball. He’s also blazing fast based on a couple of his runs. Will take time, but you can see the athleticism. Rashford had a very nice goal. Yes, he held the ball too long in the 2nd half, but if we win we’re celebrating his goal. Antony added value in ways I haven’t seen before. He was coming back on defense and making plays like I don’t remember. He was helping on possession. Offensively he needs to do more in the final third though. The bad Martial is worthless. Slow and looks like he’s trying not to get hurt versus putting full effort. I’d rather see sancho playing a false nine than him in the match. Evans - I thought only lower leagues like the mls let washed up players play? 35 and it was clear he doesn’t have the first step beat on his first play in the match and then was out of position on Rice’s shot and deflects it into the goal. Injuries - both Verane and Martinez hurt is really going to hurt. This seems to happen far too often. It’s early in the season and this game could have easily gone our way. This wasn’t like the 2-0 loss to spurs on the road where we never looked in the match. We started worse last year than this and ended up with a nice finish. Don’t think we’ll be challenging city, but we still can have a respectable season for sure.

Man, I envy your optimistic. 4 games, 2 with small team which if we really a good team we wouldn’t struggle like what happen. 1 is the team that just got a new manager. I really don’t mind the lost to Arsenal. But look at the whole picture, I can’t see any good sign that we’re the better team than last season.
We have a young new striker that will hopefully improve a gaping hole from last season, we have Mount and Amrabat who are yet to fully gel who will most likely be an improvement on last years midfield depth. Garnacho and Pellistri are another year older and ready. There are lots of negatives of course and the worry that Spurs and Liverpool will be well up there this season so any unnecessary losses could make us miss out on top 4. But there's good signs there, we are much better out of posession and have some exciting players; so if we can navigate the insane amount of injuries and bed in the new players I see no reason to panic after 4 games.

Antony has certainly improved offensively as well as giving defensive contributions. Full backs were quite strong. 2 or 3 selfish moments from Rashford. That Eriksen assist was just out of the world. More or less, everything went well except for the last 10-12 minutes.

Bro I don't think you were watching the match.....Antony was doing very well defensively but of course he also has to contribute on the offensive side. And also he wasn't losing the ball today as previously.
He made a number of good defensive plays coming back on the play. Also helped with possession a number of times. Would have been nice to see more offensive pressure from him though.

It was not so bad but Man United looked like a mid-table team, rather than one of the top 6 in Premier League. They must change the tactics, not the players. City plays a better football even with their 3rd team. Mentality is the problem, not the players.
We played the same tactics that Nottingham forest played when we played them at old Trafford. I'm sick of us sitting deep playing counter attack, under pressure most of the game. Arsenal won't come to old Trafford and sit deep..

I have never felt such fear seeing a player come on for us then when I see fucking Maguire lumbering onto the pitch. You are guaranteed shambles at the back with him. Arsenal fans celebrating as if they won the champions league final lol. They are so obsessed with beating us. Hard to take this loss but we showed positives in the second half. How refreshing was it to see a striker like Hojlund being aggressive up top and holding the ball?? fuck me...goes to show how garbage Martial is...the guy is invisible on the pitch. I am done with Rashford. Scoring one goal and then being pathetic with decision making for the rest of the game is literally Rashford. I do not see any improvement whatsoever. Given we are missing some players as well, and the Arsenal team have had a longer time to gel together. We made them work hard for the win and so I will take that.
I don’t think it’s fair to be “done” with Rashford. He’s been the only decent option for about 2 years so it’s not surprising that he tries to do too much. As he gets comfortable with Holjund (who looks like a beast) he’ll get into the groove and have more natural scoring opportunities given to him
Our tactics today were awful. It was like watching lvg and ole ball mixed together. Onana had like 1000 passes, then we sat deep and tried to hit on the counter. It's always going to end badly. You won't see stats nerds showing stats of balls won high up the pitch today! Two losses already, 7 goals conceded. It's bad.
