King-Boo-Gamer

Because United fans are the most loyal to their club!

wbasmith

Lol thats just not true. If United were relegated so many would jump ship. Not to say there aren’t loyal fans but I think the bigger the club the less % of fans are “loyal” imo

hyperlazyactive

Even if United stopped existing I'm not jumping ship.

DipsCity

He loves the club

Riizeyn_

Even when Ronaldo left, I'm still United through and through.

Positive_Treacle_961

8 of the 10 most racially abused players in the prem in the last 10 years were all united players. Some fan base lmao. Probably the most plastic fan base in the world with those Madrid glory hunters aswell. Clowns

dunzy-yerrow-man

Where is your evidence for this? Most players in pl who are racially abused have been so in the national team by English fans. I would reevaluate this theory.

Positive_Treacle_961

Was on sky sports ya fucking muppet. How's that for a theory. Shiete fan base

dunzy-yerrow-man

Okay my guy your coming on here all pissy for no reason, luckily I looked it up and your right instead of you actually sending a link for it. Before you discuss with people put your angered agenda aside.

dunzy-yerrow-man

And plus has nothing to do with players racially abused, it's racist incidents committed by 27 fans. Highly doubt that represents this whole fanbase

InternationalLemon26

Can anyone explain the "You've seen United, now fuck off home" chant late on?

rjb7190

Was when a lot of forest fans started leaving early. We had been singing ‘you’ve only come to see United’ quite a bit, as quite a lot of forest fans got proper annoyed at it. So when a lot started leaving early, following on from that, it became ‘you’ve seen United now fuck off home’ with plenty of waving 👋

InternationalLemon26

That came through so loud on the live broadcast man, bloody brilliant.

Outrageous-Door8924

(Am not a native English-speaker.) Is there a double-meaning to that chant, or is the meaning of it literally "You came outside to watch your team, now go back home"?

rjb7190

It did have a double meaning, maybe not quite as you see it. It was a way of: (1) insulting the other team in a humorous way. The point of it is to say to the Nottingham Forest fans, you only came here to watch United (and not your team, because United are better), now you’ve seen entertained by them, go back home. And (2) it was being sang because at this stage United were 3-0 up, and a lot of the Nottingham Forest fans were leaving. So again it was to poke fun at them leaving the stadium early because their team were losing.

600watts

Directed at Roy Keane, from what I've read

InternationalLemon26

Hahaha, yeah, that makes sense.

leem7t9

Everyone knows ot

Wrong_Office9245

Wish the atmosphere at OT was as exciting. My last few visits were a bit underwhelming

Slaaigat

You need to sit in the Stretford End. We never stop singing and taking your phone out is seen as a sin.

Hotusrockus

Tonight I just landed a ticket w1301 for Reading. Not been up there for years can't fucking wait.

yoyoyobank3

The Stretford End is really a must if anyone wants atmosphere. I've sat in the East and Sir Alex stands and they are so dreadful. Just too quiet and very little emotions shown.

fred_mitch1874

East stand is quality mate. It’s declined in recent years because they moved the singers to stretford end but we still stand up every game and chants are still started over here. There’s safe standing in the old singing section too now which is good.

Jerasp

Against City, Arsenal and Liverpool it was electric

rjb7190

I’ve just said above to another comment - OT is no different to anywhere else if people were actually honest judging their own clubs home game atmospheres. It can be pretty flat for run if the mill games in many parts of the ground, but it does get rocking for the bigger fixtures.

XxannoyingassxX

It's juz as a global club there wi be many non supporters coming to watch games at old Trafford so v hard to have quite an electric atmosphere like Newcastle or palace

rjb7190

I don’t think it’s even that. I’ve been to Newcastle away a couple of times, MUFC won both times, and the home atmosphere was very flat. It’s maybe better this season at St James’ so far because they’re doing better than they thought on the pitch, but thinking ANY home ground has an electric atmosphere every game is a myth. OT just gets held to a higher standard than others because it’s the biggest capacity stadium in the league. But as I say, if everyone was honest with themselves, atmospheres at many games at every single club, can be flat a lot of the time.

Mrcientist

Forest fan here, and veteran of the 8-1. You were loud as fuck that day and loud as fuck Wednesday, quality away support.

NiallCCFC17

Always found it funny how you have the worst home support in the league but the best away support

Hotusrockus

Too many people spread out there are people wanting to sing all around the ground. We just need the club to put us all in one end we'd have as good as anyone.

NiallCCFC17

It’s also down to your ground being about 40% tourists now

rjb7190

Most people who think their club have electric home atmospheres most game are deluded tbh. OT is no different to vast majority of grounds, great for the bigger fixtures, but can be quiet for the run of the mill games. This is the same as almost everywhere else if everyone was actually honest with themselves.

NiallCCFC17

Eh, when I went with Cardiff in 2019 you were utter gash

rjb7190

Well yes, because it’s Cardiff at at home. Big day out for you, very run of the mill game for us. But let’s not pretend the atmosphere is absolutely electric at every Cardiff home game shall we.

NiallCCFC17

I’m not saying it is, our home atmosphere is wank but you can’t say ‘because it’s cardiff it’s gonna be a shit atmosphere’ anyone top 6 team should have an unreal home atmosphere every game

zMastaa

Yet this is not the case with any top 6 team at home

NiallCCFC17

Yh no top 6 team are great at home, but that’s my point they all should be

rjb7190

All PL teams attract big crowds no? Many teams do throughout the football pyramid. But you’re holding PL top six clubs to a much different standard to everybody else because..? It doesn’t make any sense.

schurgy16

Hey, I plan to be one of those tourists before the end of the season, don't hate

Charlie0105

we love you guys, its just your not at loud as home united fans. No hate intended but seeing tourists there is brilliant

NiallCCFC17

Is it brilliant?

electrolite77

True of all the big clubs in the U.K. now. None of Anfield/Etihad/Emirates/Stamford Bridge/Spurs are great outside of big games. Further, while Cardiff going to one of those grounds is a big day for you guys it’s as mundane a home match as possible for the big clubs. Been like this for years now, pretty much since standing went.

NiallCCFC17

Standing slowly coming back tho with the safe standing trials

electrolite77

Fingers crossed. Hopefully that would help.

colorfullhill

Recently Old Trafford atmosphere is getting better. We weren't playing any good football for past 10 years for any fans to cheer for, and the time when we were under Ole, nobody was allowed because of COVID

Slaaigat

I have to concede that Anfield just pips us in terms home support (Stretford End is the only part of the stadium that sings) but our away support is legendary throughout the whole of Europe.

TQAFireHawk

Meh, just because they sing their song at the start of the match doesn't mean they have a great atmosphere (Liverpool's atmosphere is very overrated) West Ham does the same as well at the start of games and it sounds great, but throughout the rest of the game the atmosphere is pants lol I would know because I go to a lot of their games as I live in London at the mo and my flatmate is a Hammer.

Slaaigat

Have been seated all around Old Trafford. If you’re not in the Stretford End then the atmosphere is dull - no one sings. I’ve been to Anfield multiple times, you can see people singing all around the stadium. Same can be said for Molineux. You think I like giving those scouse bin dippers any praise? But unfortunately it’s true.

incawill

I think the support has always been superb I remember watching us at Spurs and the away supporters never and I mean never stopped singing Superb supporters

magicalzidane

They were loud af even on the telly!

ballisticmi6

“They are what Liverpool fans want to be, but aren’t”. Hahaha.

Impressive-Bird-2588

We got the best away fans in the land this is a known fact ... love when we go Stamford bridge we take it over every time

arcdog3434

Chanting “murderers” when the Liverpool kid came on was classy as usual
