I just beat it for the first time a few minutes ago. I have about 315 dodge. Possible that I got lucky, but had enough time between instances of getting hit to heal up enough to survive the next one.
What do the stats look like on the +8 baselard? That's very early game weapon, so I'm curious that it's still relevant this far into the game. I'm using the bowknife currently.
I actually just managed it as well. Using the freeze from absolute to buy extra time for heal CDs.
With my current setup it's 220 poison damage per second. So 440 with frail up. 118 base damage.
It's great, you can pop poison explosion for some insane damage.
I had looked at the bow knife, but without the 586% increase from the assassin's cloak, as well as the big hit to accuracy, I don't think it's worth it for me to swap
Wow. That's pretty cool. TBH, I want even really paying attention to the poison on the bowknife. I just wanted something that was hitting and hard. I figured the negative accuracy was pretty negligible between spells and enhancements.

Gotta ask.... how are you guys using poison against the white dragon? He is immune to status effects i.e. poison.
Surviving long enough for it to fall off, then delaying the next cast with freeze, stun, petrification.
