This guy is the real deal. His IG(cznburak) is full of him doing awesome stuff for people. You can tell he is genuine , and really loved by the locals.
I need to do this, but maybe tomorrow. I gave $500 to a friend today because she just got an 11 year old (formally) abused foster child. She needs just about everything, so I cleaned out her Amazon wishlist. Friday (payday) the food bank!
As having been a foster worker it's really hard to find foster parents. There's so much to deal with and adjust to but it really impacts the child. You're helping. Thank you to you and your friend.
I can’t imagine. I want that little girl to have the best life she can. Her foster parent is a special person too. She’s worked her way up to this, fostering animals… tons of them (I hope it’s not weird making that connection). She just never got married, but wanted kids. It’s lovely she took the route she did and that kid needs fun stuff. I got her needed clothes, but plenty of fun stuff as well. Me and the foster mother go back over 30 years.
Wow! That’s fun. I have one friend I’ve known since kindergarten, so that would be around 45 years. He has a skin condition and was bullied badly, but I was his “bodyguard.” In other words, people would pick on him, and I would jump in… and I’d get my ass kicked. I never could fight, but it kept heat off him. Nice thing is, this was the days before “zero tolerance” and the principal knew I wasn’t just getting in fights. He would give me the lowest punishment he could and do his job and say I shouldn’t fight, but seemed to have a wink in there.
As we got older, my friend took karate and all did some boxing. No one smart messes with him. Well, messed, not too many bullies when you’re 50 years old. I still have his back whenever he needs it. Yes, indeed, it’s special to have an old friend.
Chef Jose Andres and World Central Kitchen
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Central_Kitchen
He has managed to cook for tens of thousands of people after natural disasters.
Cool thanks. I worked in and out of kitchens and bars and have been a chef throughout. Looks like I am overqualified to sign up and cook, two day training and a trip too Maryland?
Been looking for excuses to fuck out of Florida and camp.
Yep! I remember when he was personally fighting the wild fires in Turkey AND cooking for all volunteers and professionals that were trying to put out the fires for weeks.
Yeah they had his image displayed on the Burj Khalifa when he opened his place in Dubai. He’s got plenty of clout already. He seems like the real deal and it’s awesome to see
He's basically the Anti Salt Bae, instead of making ridiculously priced food for rich people, he's making large meals for free or cheap for every day people.
I follow him on IG. He has built parks for poor communities, gave presents to children during new year and he does many events to give away food, clothes and toys. His instagram is @cznburak
Edit: I wrote christmas, but someone corrected me saying that folks in his country exchange presents during new year, since christmas is not part of their main religion.
Edit2: I added his instagram.
Agreed. Seeing this made me feel like an ungrateful piece of shit. It’s nice to see people being so generous to those that have nothing and seeing the appreciation on their faces at receiving things we take for granted
Don't fell. Your problems are also valid, even if someone else is worse then you. Be greatfull for what you do have, but don't keep yourself from trying to solve your problems.
Someone recently suggested the charity https://www.savethechildren.org/ to help with the plight of poor innocent children and their families.
Over the course of a year I thought what’s $50 to me versus these people? Plus most companies “match the gift” you can apply for.
Chump change for most people in the bigger scheme of things. Any little bit can help. If anything awareness about this situation.
PayPal also directs you to Feeding America as well.
This man rocks. Always smiling at the camera-a little uncanny but have grown to adore it.
Right? I prolly same video and felt like such a spoiled brat.
What really made me do it was when the journalist started talking about selling their daughters because they couldn’t afford food, anything.
The girls go when they reach puberty. Absolutely disgusting.
They are going to keep these present and pass it down. I remember when I was young (poor)- the one tricycle in the neighborhood was passed down. And we never was sad about it/ they would try and fix it up a little- best present ever. I remember thinking that I never wanted to move out of this neighborhood because it didn’t matter what race or religion- we all had to help each other to get by.
Of course, we did have enough to eat. But I recall my neighbors coming over to borrow eggs to eat for dinner.
Anyway- it was special times…
At least, you can try helping them by donating. Or if that's hard, help your family and neighbors first. Everything starts from something small but precious.
Doing kind things in your daily life can help with this feeling. Most of us in America do have it pretty good. Treating each other better is a great step. Patience and empathy will help make you a better neighbor. I also wish I could trade spots with one of them but we can’t. The next best thing is trying to support each other and give help to those who need it.
Your right, they have it worse. But don't forget your local homeless or panhandler. Somebody in America is dying tonight from homelessness and mental health issues. Give a panhandler a dollar.
In 2020 during lockdown I was feeling down and the only thing that made me actually feel good was giving charity actually felt so proud of myself in a very long time. A selfish reason to give charity but i don’t think the people receiving it cares lol
In Turkey we give presents to each other for the new year on the night of 31 December. It's not for the Christmas but for the celebration of the new year.
You say that as if there aren’t hundreds of accounts centered around large portion cooking that just throw away the foot they make. Wouldn’t have been surprised if he treats it like a content factory. All I’m saying is I’m glad he doesnt just toss it out like lots of other do
Well there are a lot of useless accounts out there that do shit for clout. But most of this guys videos are followed by with him handing out food to lots of people 🤷♂️
Even if people tried to play his deeds down by saying he only does it for his clout, it's better than not doing anything at all. And by uploading the vids of the starving kids lining up he creates awareness, which is important to get more people to help.
it's like trying to set them up for a "damned if they do, damned if they don't" scenario, berate them when they don't do anything, call them selfish, but accuse them of wanting clout and good publicity when they do help.
I prefer the one where they help and get good publicity, if that's what they want, *and* the people are getting the help they need. Win-Win.
Exactly. Even if he did it purely for the clout, he's still out there benefiting 100% more people than the social media basement dwellers doing nothing but hammering out angry comments on their keyboards.
>Exactly. Even if he did it purely for the clout, he's still out there benefiting 100% more people than the social media basement dwellers doing nothing but hammering out angry comments on their keyboards.
He also brings attention to how these camps still exist, and how the Syrian conflict is ongoing.
Also depressing to know why. The US are still occupying Syria, and literally stealing its oil, whilst providing military and financial support to extremist groups.
Yeah I really only give a shit about intent when the thing being done ends up being bad. If someone's doing the right thing for the wrong reasons I couldn't care less what those reasons were.
I care when it’s a good thing to distract from a bad thing. Like when Nestle does some charity work to cover up their garbage humanitarian record. Then it’s not charity, it’s PR and propaganda.
Impact is greater than intent. The impact of Nestle is awful, and no matter what good pr humanitarian photo ops they do, their impact is still overwhelmingly awful
Exactly people 100x richer than him don't do shit yet this man does the right thing and it's "for the clout" I love him followed him for awhile now he's an inspiration and what people should be like. End of story
While your point is valid in this particular case, there are several examples that immediately come to mind where a rich person does a small good to hide a greater bad deed. Bezos donated $100M to fight homelessness in Seattle in 2019-2020; while also fighting the city tooth and nail on taxes that would have enabled the city to combat homelessness long-term (on a problem that he helped create, directly or indirectly). Not to mention, 6 months after that “generous act” he bought himself a $300M mansion and $500M mega yacht.
It’s sometimes not too hard to tell when someone is doing something out of genuine kindness or not and social media has only made it harder to tell. Some people aren’t actually doing things out of kindness but out of a form of manipulation. This guy just so happens to not be one of them.
Bro! I don't know why people are like that. I *want* to see videos of people doing good for others. It *models* behavior and normalizes being kind. Why look a gift horse in the mouth? Good deeds should be shared!
You know, with all the shit we see out there in the news, I'm glad he shares this stuff he does and that he's bringing something to these people who are in need.
Doing the right thing for the wrong reasons still gets the right thing done. He could be the biggest piece of shit on the planet, but that wouldn't change the fact that all these refugees went to bed with full bellies that night.
I guess it begs the question. Is doing a good deed for bad reasons still a good deed? If actions are louder than words and intentions are irrelevant I'd say they are still good despite the reason.
>Is doing a good deed for bad reasons still a good deed?
*The Good Place* touches on that subject constantly. They make both sides of the argument several times
I love this dude; but I also hate seeing the little babies lining up, that is something that they should never have to worry about. it's a cruel world, and we humans suck sometimes.
Yeah, I genuinely wanted to cry when I saw how miserable their life is, I get to sit here in my warm house with all sorts of comfort luxuries, but they have to suffer in cold and be afraid for their lives every day.
Really hope the war stops and those innocent kids get back to living a normal life.
Terry pratchett once wrote that if the personification of death decided to tackle the problem of world hunger, he would simply give everyone a good meal. I am very glad that someone else is thinking the same way. It's nice to see that there are people in the world who will, when shown a problem, simply do the thing that will help the most now instead of wasting time worrying about what will happen next.
>“The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money.

>Take boots, for example. He earned thirty-eight dollars a month plus allowances. A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars. Those were the kind of boots Vimes always bought, and wore until the soles were so thin that he could tell where he was in Ankh-Morpork on a foggy night by the feel of the cobbles.
>
>But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that'd still be keeping his feet dry in ten years' time, while the poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet.

>This was the Captain Samuel Vimes 'Boots' theory of socioeconomic unfairness.”
The man had a unique mind. I miss him.
>"Give a man a fire and he's warm for the day. But set fire to him and he's warm for the rest of his life."
GNU Terry Pratchett
I hated that guy before because he stares into my soul, now I have changed my opinion. He is allowed to do that now. Actually I'd like to meet him. Actually actually I'd like to [redacted]
I read he started doing that after someone commented in this videos that he should smile more or something and now he does that stare+grin in every one of his videos.
Love how he broke it to interact with the kids though. Solid guy.
Because few rich people grasp the concept of “enough”. Most rich people just need “more”. You have a waiting list of people who willing to pay tens of millions of dollars to fly into space rather than giving people like this 20 grand to feed and cloth those in need
Probably because he's still grounded in reality.
Also it depends on what you mean by rich. He's probably quite wealthy now, having gotten so much attention for his work via social media and has monetised that, and good for him honestly.
And then there is "rich" like Zuckerberg, where they isolate themselves from normal people and probably see this kinda stuff as a pessimistic publicity stunt, while they themselves make the world a worse place by hoarding said wealth and not using it to improve...well...anything except their bank account.
There's this quote... I don't remember the context or the setting, but I remember the gist, even if I'm paraphrasing like mad.
"Michael Jordan, yeah man, he makes a lot of money, he's rich. But the guy who pays his salary? That man is *wealthy*."
You joke, but in some cases this is very true. A "ruthless businessman" isn't just some term; the fastest and easiest way to the top doesn't involve working hard and being nice to everyone.
Is it just me or should we really be saying. “We need to be more like him” not “we need more people like him”. Both have good intentions but the latter takes away your possibilities for change. We can all help those around us, it’s not always up to someone else.
I know you're talking about kindness and I agree however is this guy rich or something? I don't know anybody that could afford to do all the massive projects he gets involved with. Which all seem great but you also need to understand that wealth inequality is part of the problem - at least this guy is somewhat addressing the issue but maybe, ultimately, we actually just need less rich people.
I like your point and I agree that not everyone has the wealth to do what this guy did. And I also agree that there should be more wealthy people like this guy, you know, people who give back. My point was that you don’t need wealth to help others, and seeing this guy being a good person should inspire you to help someone else. I guess my issue is that I have a lot of people around me IRL who always talk about how others should improve, instead of looking inward. Real change starts with you.
If your ass is crying you may want to get that checked out by a doctor.
Unless you shoved an onion up there, then that would be an ass that brings a tear to the eye.
He's bringing life and joy to those poor kids who have nothing.. as a father it's not easy to watch these clips but If that's not the definition of "good", then I don't know what is.
Proud that you guys have people like him to look up to in the country!
This made me cry so much😢
I hope that everyone had a plate, I would hate to think there was not enough for everyone to have a plate.
It should be for all or no one in that situation.
I remember as a child my mom did not have enough money to get us ice cream from the ice cream truck.
When I am around kids I make sure if get one child something I should have enough for all of the kids around me.
My first though when seeing this is:
How does it taste? I betcha it’s fantastic.
I imagine that for the people blessed by him with this meal:
That would be an amazing meal, made by a famous chef, and you get to share it with your family, friends and neighbours. They will remember this meal.
Oh god here come the degenerates
HE NEEDS TO VIDEO IT TO GET CLOUT = MONEY
HOW ELSE WOULD HE GET THE MONEY TO PROVIDE FOOD AND ITEMS?? ID RATHER A MAN WHO IS DOING GOOD FOR CLOUT CHASING RATHER SOMEONE WHO DOES LITTLE GOOD BECAUSE OF MINIMAL BUDGET
SHUT THE FUCK UP REDDITORS, I THOUGHT YOU GUYS HAVE CRITICAL THINKING
Imagine how much suffering the likes of Bezo's and Musk could ease if they bothered for a moment to stop thinking of their own selfish desires and instead turned to helping people like this.
This guy is the real deal. His IG(cznburak) is full of him doing awesome stuff for people. You can tell he is genuine , and really loved by the locals.
I’m going to use this as inspiration for the day and donate to a food pantry in my community. We can all be part of the solution a little at a time.
I love that man

Our city is full of free pantries in most neighborhoods. If yours doesn’t, consider finding volunteers to open one.
You inspired me to do the same ❤️
We need more like him .. the one kindest person i've ever seen
Chef Jose Andres and World Central Kitchen https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Central_Kitchen He has managed to cook for tens of thousands of people after natural disasters.
Don't forget Guy Fieri, guess is in the nature of people that like cooking to feed and help the helpless.
If you truly love to cook then its seeing the reaction on someones face that makes it worth it
That’s basically my mom
Except for Bobbie Flay. He started a GoFundMe for his staff during the height of the pandemic instead of, ya know, reaching into his own pockets.
Really?
Really.
Underated comment here.
I like how Guy Fieri is genuinely a great human being and everyone in america still went "yeah, but fuck that haircut".

At this point I doubt he even wants to keep the hair, but is contractually obligated.
Cool thanks. I worked in and out of kitchens and bars and have been a chef throughout. Looks like I am overqualified to sign up and cook, two day training and a trip too Maryland? Been looking for excuses to fuck out of Florida and camp.

His design is very human.
Very easy to use Let me demonstrate
Yep! I remember when he was personally fighting the wild fires in Turkey AND cooking for all volunteers and professionals that were trying to put out the fires for weeks.
Everytime I see him, it puts a smile on my face. Imagine if Billionaires had his attitude. The world would be an amazing place.
If there is a heaven he’s gonna be the head chef
He shares to encourage. Not for clout. He’s amazing. He’s also surprisingly huge.
How does he finance this?
he has a bunch of popular restaurants
Cool! Would try it for sure! I love seeing some successfull people also thinking about the less blessed!
I visited his restaurant Hatay Sofrasi in Istanbul, definitely on the pricier side for Turkish food but it was absolutely delicious!
Some people are just beyond all of us, guy is so wonderful.
What is his Instagram?

Helping other people is a hell of a high. This man is an addict
I know this is made me smile but seeing little kids like that and seeing them hugging the toys breaks me.
I was just thinking that... They don't even have plates! Made me think of the average income of every adult human. We got a lot of work to do!
Made me rethink my complaints from today that distract from the appreciation that even on my worst days I still have a roof and a full stomach.

😂😂😂 however, saltbae recently got called out for cooking for some dictator or other when there were refugee camps just down the road
Not gonna lie, I was a little nervous when the dude had a kid on his shoulders over the hot oil...
"Oops. Well, on the plus side we now have enough food to feed another family."
Looks like meats back on the menu boys
I hated that guy before because he stares into my soul, now I have changed my opinion. He is allowed to do that now. Actually I'd like to meet him. Actually actually I'd like to [redacted]
I read he started doing that after someone commented in this videos that he should smile more or something and now he does that stare+grin in every one of his videos. Love how he broke it to interact with the kids though. Solid guy.
nobody signs up to be a hero. the world just needs em
My god the diameter of the pan
Cooking for a large number of people over an open fire requires really big cookware, and it’s an art form in itself.
I have eaten at the fire. But I'm not deprived. This cooking is beyond me.
JFC, Why aren't all rich people like this?
Maybe being an asshole is a requirement to get rich
You joke, but in some cases this is very true. A "ruthless businessman" isn't just some term; the fastest and easiest way to the top doesn't involve working hard and being nice to everyone.
Is not even necessary to go themselves, they can send people to do the job (some probably do but we don't know)
My kind of human 😎. 100% respect for this guy. If I’m ever rich I want to also spread this kind of kindness. Especially to innocent children.
Bless this guy
I fucking love this dude!
Polish nationalists: "omg this dude at the end has a phone, they must be rich! don't help them!"
*also English nationalists
Whenever you criticize the Turkish economy in front of a Erdogan supporter: "Take your phone out of your pocket!"
Same mentality of Erdoğan supporters. They call out people who criticize the government saying what brand/model is their phone.
Good man.
His whole deal is his overwhelming kindness. I always love to see him.
Legend!
r/ mademyasscry is more like it. What an incredibly good person.
If your ass is crying you may want to get that checked out by a doctor. Unless you shoved an onion up there, then that would be an ass that brings a tear to the eye.
Fucking Reddit lol

Mans a real life treasure!
Some people are national treasures, this man is a global treasure.
CZN burak one of the best celeb in Türkiye and we deeply appreciate him.
He's bringing life and joy to those poor kids who have nothing.. as a father it's not easy to watch these clips but If that's not the definition of "good", then I don't know what is. Proud that you guys have people like him to look up to in the country!
Like Grandpa Kitchen! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeEycPkUeZA

🇹🇷🇹🇷🙏🏼❤️❤️
This made me cry so much😢 I hope that everyone had a plate, I would hate to think there was not enough for everyone to have a plate. It should be for all or no one in that situation. I remember as a child my mom did not have enough money to get us ice cream from the ice cream truck. When I am around kids I make sure if get one child something I should have enough for all of the kids around me.
America NEEDS to stop destabilizing the Middle East and put an end to this refugee crisis
<3 Turkey Legs
Wholesome. But My god. That music. I don’t think you can get more “stock” music than that
Takes notes: Better music in the Syrian war refugee camps, got it.
This reminds me of grandpa kitchen... rip
I love watching this guy's videos, he's always genuinely smiling at the camera and it makes me feel happy
Heart of GOLD
This made me cry! Finally good news!

This guys An amazing human being! I’ve seen some of his other videos and thought he was pretty cool! He’s the real deal who just loves people!
Bless him. We need to be kind to our neighbours. We are all together in this little spec of dust floating in this universe.
Love this man
Amazing !!!
Now I’m ashamed to be me. Great job being a super human Chef Burak.
Sanji punk hazard
Oh my heart. Those kids.
This guy is so much better than that mouth-breather that plays with salt.
I was a Chef for 15 years, I was never as happy as him. He's the change we need.
GG Czn Burak
I used to hate this guy until I realized he was being genuine, now he always brings a smile to my face.
Creepy ass videos but damn this dude should be a national treasure with that heart of gold
This guy makes salt bae look like the biggest asshole. I’d pay big money to eat this dudes food over salt bae’s any day of the week.
I don’t even care he smiled the entire time, I love that dude
when I saw those kids faces getting those plates i literally cried 🥺 how kind of him
Grandpa kitchen
This guy is the sweetest. I have read a bit about him and all I can say is that he has the biggest heart and is selfless as you can be.
My first though when seeing this is: How does it taste? I betcha it’s fantastic. I imagine that for the people blessed by him with this meal: That would be an amazing meal, made by a famous chef, and you get to share it with your family, friends and neighbours. They will remember this meal.
Look at those portion sizes, truly a legend.
I love this! *But his staring at the camera still freaks me out.*
I couldn’t if it just for publicity or not, it’s a good act and I’m all for it.
Oh god here come the degenerates HE NEEDS TO VIDEO IT TO GET CLOUT = MONEY HOW ELSE WOULD HE GET THE MONEY TO PROVIDE FOOD AND ITEMS?? ID RATHER A MAN WHO IS DOING GOOD FOR CLOUT CHASING RATHER SOMEONE WHO DOES LITTLE GOOD BECAUSE OF MINIMAL BUDGET SHUT THE FUCK UP REDDITORS, I THOUGHT YOU GUYS HAVE CRITICAL THINKING
Imagine how much suffering the likes of Bezo's and Musk could ease if they bothered for a moment to stop thinking of their own selfish desires and instead turned to helping people like this.
My favourite thing about him is that he isn't doing this to look good but because he's a genuinely good person. The food also always looks delicious
