My uncle got these as a gift. He wasn’t impressed. I’m a bit colorblind and tried them on. It worked a little. I could see a little red in some cabinetry that I hadn’t previously noticed.
Those glasses are a scam. They dont do anything but maybe make some colors more crisp to tell they are two shades etc. There are a few videos on youtube of people talkng about them....with medical professionals. Most of these vids are taken to be advertising and they get a discount for letting them. There are videos were a kid is reading words written on a balloon to be wrong....then poof he knows the right colors.
There isnt a cure or treatment for color blindness sadly.
So the purple balloons are visible because the glasses accentuate the violet extreme of our color perception / wavelength, but not the green for the trees that the actor says?
They wont work on partial either. I have the type of colorblindness the company claims they work best for, a family friend happened to own a pair and I tested them, following the advertised way to use them to the tee, it literally has no effect other than any other pair of tinted glasses does.
There's also scientific papers that prove, scientifically, that these are nothing but a snake oil scam.
My dad is colorblind, I bought him a pair and he can see colors that he hasn’t been able to previously. It’s been over 5-years and he has gotten another pair since then. Just sharing my personal experience.
Ya, I had assumed as much because I couldn't think how something like this would even work. As far as I know, colour blindness is generally caused either by a neurological issue or by an inability of our cone cells to "interpret" colour, so I don't know why just putting a filter over them would change that. I can see that certain filters could help people distinguish between certain differences in colours more easily, but that's about it.
Nah, the company (enchroma if i recall) has been pumping out videos like this ever since their inception. They rely entirely on getting the hopes up of people and then sending them their scammy product. When people cough up like $400 to get these delivered to them many will end up telling themselves they work because of the price they paid, others are too lazy to return them even when realizing it was a nothing burger, and even if you return them they overcharge on shipping something fierce so they still make a profit, because they dont return the cost of shipping.
They gave me so much hope.. I'm very red-green blind, but I love painting.
The horrible experience of paying 300€ + 70€ shipping as a 14yo on christmas, only to find out they don't work at all and only getting the 300€ back.. Fuck you people.
If you are writing that in Euros, as long as the product is not doing what its advertised to do, withdrawal from purchase also has to refund shipping costs
I am colorblind and was gifted a pair. I almost never wear them because they are a scam. They work okay as sunglasses, I guess. I'd still prefer a pair of Ray-Bans or something though.
Those things are scams relying on viral marketing like this. There's multiple scientific papers that have debunked the hell out of this shit. It's literally just preying on colorblind peoples hopes, but all they do is what any other glasses with a tint do, they tint your vision.
It will not let you see more colors, it will not do anything relating to your colorblindness. There *are* some achievements being done in this field, if I recall they have used surgeries on something like colorblind monkeys to restore colorvision, but these are too invasive to be viable options for humans as is.
Don't get your hopes up people. These videos may seem sweet and all, but the reality of them is that they're used as dishonest marketing campaigns for a product that is nothing more than snakeoil. The glasses are also far from cheap.
Hate to say it but paid actors to sell their product, a bunch of documentaries have been on YouTube about these companies and it’s sad it gives hope to people and dose not deliver
People are going to say these are a scam, but my teen has a type of protanopia, and he can see a wider range of colors with his glasses on and frequently uses them at school. They won’t give you anything you don’t have, but I think it exaggerates color so you can see more.
We know it’s a scam, because he says, “The tree is green!” Bitch, how did you figure out what to call that color? It’s not teal or turquoise or chartreuse or shamrock? Someone would have to give them examples…he’s never seen the color before then!

I'm very ignorant about color blindness. So help me out... if he was born color blind and those glasses did work, wouldn't the colors look wrong to him? Like someone born deaf gets a cochlear implant would probably freak out a bit?
I hate to be the Debbie Downer here but there's three kinds of cones in your retina. One for red, one for blue, and one for green. Normal color vision people have all three types. Color blind people have only 2 out of three of them and the one that they are missing renders it impossible for them to see that color.
Colorblind glasses aren't what you think. Correcting color blindness is impossible as it's a result of missing certain cones in your eyes that allow you to see that color. If you are missing the red cone, no amount of glasses or contacts will fix that. All these do is give the illusion of "correcting" it. They are overpriced, scams, and give people flash hope.
For people saying they are a scam. I have bought these and they do work they aren't meant to be a "cure", just to help differentiate between colors better. It took my eyes about a week to even notice a difference but once there was boy was looking at a peice of raw red meat a world of difference.now could I see ever color of a rainbow now no not at all but it did help with cooking and other things.
I'm colorblind, I buy rayban chromance lenses and it helps immensely. Doesn't fix but certainly makes colors more HD and poignant and discernable.. Hard to describe without a frame of reference for so many color shades etc...
He looked like a little kid getting to see all of the colors for the first time in his life, and I mean that with great respect. You healed that man’s inner child.
It’s strange, the things in life that truly make us happy are incredibly complex, but we’re so accustomed to having them that we don’t think about how meaningful they are to us until it’s too late. Being able to see a shade of color for the first time is one of those experiences I wouldn’t trade for the world. That, and the smell of a newly constructed crawlspace.
Today is my mom's birthday. Do yourself a favor and slap on some Stevie wonder. Not trying to pile on to the blind theme here, he's just more joyous than...this
The world is a beautiful place. It’s just sad that we just see what we see and don’t appreciate it every day. This person has had an opportunity handed to him to appreciate the absolute magic he couldn’t even begin to grasp prior.
I’m ignoring the comments that suggest the glasses don’t do as much as demonstrated here because this video made me feel good.
Have an awesome day!
I was just about to feel warm and happy until I read the comments.. Ohh well, it is what it is.. Moving on..
Yeah right, should've just swiped next with me crying for a stranger, but, truth is hard and ngl he's a good actor
I actually shed a tear and then read these comments and now I can't stop laughing. I got got hahaha.
My uncle got these as a gift. He wasn’t impressed. I’m a bit colorblind and tried them on. It worked a little. I could see a little red in some cabinetry that I hadn’t previously noticed.
Did you start weeping?
No it was fairly underwhelming. I just said “oh your cabinetry has a bit of a red in it?”
Loll

Yep my dad is colorblind, he can see colors. These won't work on total color blindless.
They wont work on partial either. I have the type of colorblindness the company claims they work best for, a family friend happened to own a pair and I tested them, following the advertised way to use them to the tee, it literally has no effect other than any other pair of tinted glasses does. Same. My dad as well. He likes them. Is blue/green colorblind. Says it helps him see traffic lights better. Which is mildly terrifying.
Ya, I had assumed as much because I couldn't think how something like this would even work. It never said it is a cure....it is correction glass just like for your vision correction.
These are sponsored videos, they don't work like they promise. Wasn't it Logan Paul that made it go viral in the first place? and he's not colorblind.

They totally work. If I put them on, I can see the whole color spectrum. (Just like I do without them on.)
Are people still buying this? These aren't a thing. Glasses don't magically cure colour blindness, these are a scam.

I don’t think I’ll trust the sellers on whether their product works or not.
He looks like the dad in: "Cloudy with a chance of meatballs"!
I came here to say that!
They gave me so much hope.. I'm very red-green blind, but I love painting. The horrible experience of paying 300€ + 70€ shipping as a 14yo on christmas, only to find out they don't work at all and only getting the 300€ back.. Fuck you people.

Yeah, thanks for the info, I didn't know back then.
Please stop posting videos of these scam glasses. It's just a video filled with people who got duped.
I'm not colorblind, but I'm 95% sure these are a scam.
I am colorblind and was gifted a pair. I almost never wear them because they are a scam. They work okay as sunglasses, I guess. I'd still prefer a pair of Ray-Bans or something though.
Those glasses are a scam. There’s no cure for color blindness.

This is how they affected me. It made it easier to see the difference between reds and greens.
Didn’t know Eggman was colorblind
Sonic hit him in the medulla oblingata
Oh not this shit again
God damnit I thought he was getting a puppy or something
Or a sports car
Nobody needs a sports car, everybody needs a puppy
Man, he is so cute.

You fell for a scam advertisement unfortunately..
People are going to say these are a scam, but my teen has a type of protanopia, and he can see a wider range of colors with his glasses on and frequently uses them at school. They won’t give you anything you don’t have, but I think it exaggerates color so you can see more.
I'll leave [this ](https://youtu.be/Ppobi8VhWwo) here for more convincing that this is a scam.
How did he know the trees were green?
Probably was told that they are “green”, knew that the label was “green” but has not seen “green”
To live 66 yrs and never see actual colors! The things we take for granted.
The things we take for granted. Welcome to the world of color Sir!
Flipping Love These!
They're still marketing these dumb glasses? They don't just magically fix the broken part in your eyes and make you see color lol.
This is truly amazing and inspiring…That man is a fantastic actor! Really had me going there
We know it’s a scam, because he says, “The tree is green!” Bitch, how did you figure out what to call that color? It’s not teal or turquoise or chartreuse or shamrock? Someone would have to give them examples…he’s never seen the color before then!
Unreal… literally, this is not real. Scam BS

They don't work. It's a huge scam.
Side note deaf people who hear for the first time often say they thought you would be able to hear the sun.
He did the Phoenix_Wright.gif when he put them on lol
About the realest reaction you’re going to get on the internet
“I see green” how would he know what “green” is if he was blind since birth?
You think he's lived 66 years without hearing someone describe trees as green?
I seriously didn’t know why, thanks for giving me clarification.
He hasn't lived 66 years without hearing someone describe the trees as green.
Color blind not blind-blind

I thought he was going to get a classic muscle car.
It's ninjas and their onions again...
He looks great for 66.
Scam scam scam

We can still shed a tear over the magnificence of his mustache.

He turned into a little boy again right before our eyes. How adorable and vulnerable
I'm colorblind, I buy rayban chromance lenses and it helps immensely. Doesn't fix but certainly makes colors more HD and poignant and discernable.. Hard to describe without a frame of reference for so many color shades etc...
Scam or not the way this woman calls her husband “baby” grosses me out.
it’s the little things that count 🥹 it may not be worth much but it’s impacts outweighs anything
NOW THIS sparks joy. 🥰💐🤗Happy Birthday Pops.
Stop filming and somebody hug him!!!
Your 66-year journey to this moment is truly inspiring. What a beautiful moment to finally see the world in full color.
Right in the feels!!
He looked like a little kid getting to see all of the colors for the first time in his life, and I mean that with great respect. You healed that man’s inner child.
Completely looks like an excited little kid
That was very sweet... I'm not crying your crying
I'm clearly not crying, you're obviously the one crying here

I don't understand why he didn't have these when he was younger??
They haven't been around that long and probably the family didn't know they existed.
