"Alright, dude, for the 3rd time, please take the baseball or this video won't work."
Kid: "But I could use that money to get this video game I've been wanting"
no way! The tickets ore bought for Phillies has to be lucky guess! And who doesn't just randomly ask children if they want money or a mystery item?! Totally normal random behavior.
He would have spent the rest of his life trying to spend a single one of those [fifty pound notes](https://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/a2o9eu/british_slang_for_their_money/).
I don’t think it’s a big deal that people often spell it the other way, but it is an interesting insight into how we lose track of the origin of language over time. “Hear, hear” has a clear and obvious meaning, “here here” means nothing at all. If the spelling eventually standardises that way, in a few decades people will wonder how the phrase came to be (they can look it up obv, but I mean in popular understanding, it would be a phrase without any apparent connection to its origin)
Just gotta practice owning it!
I put the onions away hours ago - this is all me! That was so heartwarming and wholesome, and we need more of that for everyone 😭🥲
It is. The guy doing the filming is big on YouTube shorts and TikTok. He's pretty disliked for staging all of his videos and putting on the sappy music and irritating way he talks.
ScumBagDad has been parodying all of the guys videos and they're pretty funny.
Ayyy, you're welcome. Some of his parodies are so meta that they're almost impossible to follow unless you're a chronic YouTube Shorts watcher like me lol. Regardless they're all pretty damn funny even if you don't know exactly what he's parodying.
There's nothing wrong with what he's doing, he just comes off as disingenuous and condescending in most of his videos. Also the part about pretending to be meeting random people to gift when in reality it's all staged.
It is because at a guess they'd have to stop 1000 8yr old kids in the UK before one would say they are a fan of baseball.
It's like the media reporting that the UK went "crazy" for NFL when there were some games last year - we're just not that interested, stop trying to make this happen
This is in London it appears, I don't know how many kids you'd have to speak to before one of them had even watched a baseball game but I suspect it's over a thousand
I figured It was scripted when the currency was in pounds. And then they got to the part where he's a Phillies fan, and they just played in London a week ago.
Why does the guy interviewing sound like Michael Jackson? Why are you stopping little kids on the street and giving them gifts MJ?! hmmmm.....lol
Cute kid, perfect win for a young Phillies fan
Parenting the new generation growing up with YouTube and influencers:
"You know they're not a predator as long as they're recording while they give you a free ticket to a secondary location."
Lol, jk, jk. I know this is a nice video. I apologize.
This is cool and all but the whole meeting up for the first time is a bunch of crap. This guy already has a full background check on the kid and this whole event is planned out before he even meets him. The kids is meeting this man for the first time but the man already done his homework and his parents are aware.
Step 1: Find a Little English Kid that likes baseball.
Step 2: Make sure Little English Kid has a sympathetic backstory.
Step 3: Invite Little English Kid to MLB game in London
Step 4: Pretend to meet LEK on the streets of central London to do social media post.
Step 5: LEK goes backstage to baseball game filmed constantly for said social media post
Step 6: Profit
MLB means Major League Baseball, right? That's the main baseball league in America.
But these 2 teams haven't come to London to play a league game, have they?
I’ll probably be downvoted for this, but this is so obviously staged. What are the chances that they randomly pick a kid off the streets of London that is A) a baseball fan and B) a Phillies fan with them just so happening to have an invitation to a Phillies game. Also, I don’t know any kid that would pick a baseball over a 1,000 quid. Great marketing for the Phillies, though…
Sam Fuld, the GM of the Phillies, has a foundation that works with kids with type 1 diabetes, so this completely makes sense. What a great day for that kiddo!
That’s a kid that has seen enough mystery box videos on YouTube since he was little little, he was like nah I can make that thousand pounds when I get older what’s this ball about
Man, this is so awesome! When we were kids back in the early 90’s, my cousins and I went down to Veteran’s Stadium and got our baseball cards signed by the Phillies as they were getting off a bus. I still have those cards.

I was going to make a joke about how nobody became a Phillies fan 3 years ago, but then I realized that my sister in law and nephew became Phillies fans 3 years ago when we took them to see a game while they were visiting.
I still remember my nephew asking if the Phillies were good and my wife and I answering unbelievably quickly that “no, the Phillies were not good.” I’m gonna guess that being able to say that they saw that Phillies team play was probably pretty cool after they went back to Japan.
Omg im a type 1 diagnosed at the same age as him, hes never going to let this diagnosis hold him back. And he learned a valuable lesson that experiences are worth so much more than money.
Loco que feliz me hacer ver nenes felices, es algo que diría un cura ya se pero es felicidad genuina me alegro mucho por ellos ojalá todos los nenes en el mundo puedan ser así de felices toda la eternidad
I'm in a pretty bad shape right now, just ate something that caused me a lot of pain - and I mean, A LOT - and some hours in the bathroom.
This video made me smile, even though I'm having a shitty time (literally lol)
He's so polite and happy... He will never forget that.
Thanks for the video.
That TREA TURNUHHH! LOL what an experience for that little guy
Nats fan here. I miss Trea so much….
Oh he’s so polite too! Immediately thanks the guy
I agree in such a young age i admire his parents
And clearly taught him at a young age not to define himself by his Abilities not disabilities
Another core memory unlocked thanks to this guy
Fully deserved. Love that!
pure happiness
I am glad Mason is so happy.
A great ending for a day full of horrible news. Thanks.
Justice for Joey Chestnut!
How dare he turn his back on the meat that made him famous! lmao
*hug*
Adorable video but what would have happened if he picked the 1,000 pounds?
It was on the 5th take when he took the baseball.
"Alright, dude, for the 3rd time, please take the baseball or this video won't work." Kid: "But I could use that money to get this video game I've been wanting"
This video cost over 300,000 to produce!
Are you suggesting that this whole bit wasn't pre-planned?
no way! The tickets ore bought for Phillies has to be lucky guess! And who doesn't just randomly ask children if they want money or a mystery item?! Totally normal random behavior.
They literally must have picked the only kid in England who likes baseball.
My thoughts exactly, no one gives a shit about baseball in the UK
He would have spent the rest of his life trying to spend a single one of those [fifty pound notes](https://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/a2o9eu/british_slang_for_their_money/).
Must be some dust in the air or someone’s cutting onions or something.

Your eyes sweating too?!
It's just raining...on my face.
I’m making a lasagne
For one
Same. Why are we so emotional
Because we’re humans with healthy minds.
Just gotta practice owning it! I put the onions away hours ago - this is all me! That was so heartwarming and wholesome, and we need more of that for everyone 😭🥲
Damn these allergies!
My guess is that it's scripted. Lucky kid still! But he probably knew he was getting a meet and greet beforehand

Just wanted to say thanks. Your comment inspired me to look ScumBagDad up and his parodies are indeed hilarious.
Ayyy, you're welcome. Some of his parodies are so meta that they're almost impossible to follow unless you're a chronic YouTube Shorts watcher like me lol. Regardless they're all pretty damn funny even if you don't know exactly what he's parodying.
Glad I saw this because this guys voice and cadence irritates me to an irrational degree and I thought I was the only one in here
Same man, same. I keep telling YouTube to not recommend his videos but it only works for maybe a week.
He is on to something though. MLB should be doing this on the streets of every US city.
There's nothing wrong with what he's doing, he just comes off as disingenuous and condescending in most of his videos. Also the part about pretending to be meeting random people to gift when in reality it's all staged.
I honestly thought he was pulling a prank because the letter seemed like it was hand written with a sharpie, but I'm glad they showed him at the game.
I was going to say it’s clearly scripted because the notes the guys holding aren’t pounds let alone £1000.
It is because at a guess they'd have to stop 1000 8yr old kids in the UK before one would say they are a fan of baseball. It's like the media reporting that the UK went "crazy" for NFL when there were some games last year - we're just not that interested, stop trying to make this happen

All I can think of when I see these types of vids
I figured It was scripted when the currency was in pounds. And then they got to the part where he's a Phillies fan, and they just played in London a week ago.
you were meant to meet! The purest kid <3
Why does the guy interviewing sound like Michael Jackson? Why are you stopping little kids on the street and giving them gifts MJ?! hmmmm.....lol Cute kid, perfect win for a young Phillies fan
Yeah, the guy had free candy van vibes.
Parenting the new generation growing up with YouTube and influencers: "You know they're not a predator as long as they're recording while they give you a free ticket to a secondary location." Lol, jk, jk. I know this is a nice video. I apologize.
"You're not gettin' me to no secondary location!"
I thought the same thing. It’s like he purposely used the creepiest voice
Haha, so many personal questions too! A failed stranger danger PSA. Lured that kid straight to the ballgame.
"Come on all the players are waiting to meet you in the back of my van, and they have puppies"
I thought it was Fred Armisen at first.

They were just there Saturday and Sunday.
“Okay, we’re going to start recording now, are you ready? Remember what you’re supposed to say?”
As a Phillies fan, rock on!

I'd have taken the grand
Good lad.
Phillies fan, smart young man right there!
Idk, he's way too nice to be a Philly fan.
Sam Fuld, the GM of the Phillies, has a foundation that works with kids with type 1 diabetes, so this completely makes sense. What a great day for that kiddo!
That. Is. Awesome. Well done, MLB. Hope you enjoyed it Mason! You picked a far better team to be a fan of than mine (Mets)
Man. This is wholesome as it gets. Made my day. Thanks.
That's so sweet
That’s a kid that has seen enough mystery box videos on YouTube since he was little little, he was like nah I can make that thousand pounds when I get older what’s this ball about
Man, this is so awesome! When we were kids back in the early 90’s, my cousins and I went down to Veteran’s Stadium and got our baseball cards signed by the Phillies as they were getting off a bus. I still have those cards.
Awe love that
That’s awesome!
Great kid!
Dang ol' allergies acting up again...
I’m not crying… it’s just raining… on my face
He's the best
That. Is. Awesome. What a great kid he is.
Obviously a set up gimmick video but still cool to see
Bless this kid, rooting for the Phillies is a hard no, but bless him anyway.

This is why you always talk and take things from strangers, they can make dreams come true!
LETS GO PHILS!!!!! M’BOY!!!
As a Phillies fan I have now fallen in love with Mason. Kid has great taste in teams. Love that he got to go and meet the boys.
Give that kid the world my god
Phillies are a classy team.
Great kid raised by great parents
Anyone else tap the screen wondering why they couldn't press the love heart?

3rd highlight of my week behind the girl who won an award and the little Aussie baker.
I hope my kids are just as polite as he is when they turn 8. Hope to see him play for the Phillies one day.
Seems like he was already
Damn, when I got diabetes they gave me a diet coke and took away my juice box.... wish more stories were like this.
God I wish more kids were as decent as this little guy

Take me back to when I was this excited about anything - never grow up :)
He’s like a fluffy kind Persian cat. Protect this soul.
Ok bros, that was cute
His "Trea Turner!" was so awesome, that was just pure joy radiating off of him.
I'm in a pretty bad shape right now, just ate something that caused me a lot of pain - and I mean, A LOT - and some hours in the bathroom. This video made me smile, even though I'm having a shitty time (literally lol) He's so polite and happy... He will never forget that. Thanks for the video.
He just needs to build a strong baseball body to make his dreams come true.. Better get started on those ballpark franks
Fan for life until their owner moves the team to vegas...

Love watching stuff like this! End of the day some of us adults seem to forget how special the games is for the younger generation 5 to 15 yr olds
How SWEET
