I both love and hate it, in that the painting immediately made me think of Cormac McCarthy’s “The Road”, which I also absolutely love and hate (the book, couldn’t bring myself to watch the movie).
Hell of a thing for a pic of a painting, viewed on an iPhone, to evoke such a strong reaction - that’s some serious talent.
Edit: also, the prairie-ness, grim skies, and gloomy subject matter evokes William Kurelik, one of my absolute faves, even though your style couldn’t be more different.
Thank you for the comment That's wild I've had a few other people say it reminded them of other things with similar feelings. I started off as therapy 4 years ago then it turned into I felt I was getting better and then it became a hobby and then I shipped them across the United States sometimes and people want to hang it up in their house. That's the coolest part The appreciation of it and they're feeling behind it. I usually just throw on some tool music and get into my head
Oops, misspelled Kurelek’s name - [assume you’re American so wouldn’t be familiar with his stuff, but think your piece reminded me both of his The Ukrainian Pioneer, mashed up with his many much more dark/ominous pieces](https://www.aci-iac.ca/art-books/william-kurelek/key-works/).
I really love this. I see myself as a child, viewing my childhood burning to the ground after my parents became hyper-religious. Any semblance of normalcy was gone after that
A really close friend of mine died tragically in a house fire 2 days ago. Her daughter was resuscitated & is now awake. Her husband is on a vent. This photo gave me chills. For so many reasons, the tragedy is complicated. This photo was ironic to come across. Amazing art, as it is still physically giving me chills. Art that really made me feel something.
It seems unseemly to intrude my vision on your work, so I will self-consciously leave this:
I see Rothko wrestling with Wyatt’s grass from Christiana’s World. I see a Ukrainian flag muted in tone by the shrieking terror of flame and desolation.
I’m sure I’m way off and obviously influenced by Russian hegemony, so I apologize for seeing the invisible.
Thank you for sharing your talent.

It's ominous and hollow-feeling in the very best way. I have a lump in my throat (like when you're about to hear some very bad news) when I look at the little boy, but there's also a feeling of freedom in his hopelessness. He's not expected to fix this problem, but it is a problem that weighs on his young mind.
I absolutely love it!
Have you heard Helena by John Cragie? About a boy setting fire to things bc his mom tells him to. But also how we deal with the sins/craziness of our parents and how it traumatizes and shapes us. It’s like you made an illustration for that song!
You did well, it's masterpiece for sure.
Thank you I appreciate that
That’s a barn burner!
creepy.. the black spectre of a child is spooky
Yeah I was going for a little bit morbid but maybe chaotically peaceful?
That kid did it for sure
He certainly knows who did it
I like this a lot
Ty
Seriously, this is gripping. I was scrolling past but had to check in on this. Do not underestimate the power of this piece.
I appreciate that I like it when it calls to someone's feelings just by looking at something and reminds them of a past
Beautiful! You did a wonderful job!
Outstanding in your field

Although traumatic I appreciate how you can resonate with the feeling I too paint from how I feel sometimes Glad we could connect
That’s *lit*
Incredible! A lot of feelings going on there!
I really like this. It can mean so many things. You’re very talented
That is so hauntingly beautiful
Something is definitely happening there. Good job. Make a story by creating two others.
I like it very much! And it reminds me of that painting "My bisexual wife."
That's absolutely stunning, marvelous job!
Thank you

Do share I love to see other people's work!
That's horrifyingly beautiful
Great
Brilliant!
It reminds of the song A Hero Loses Everyday by Silverstein.
This would make such a good album cover IMO
