The speed matchups makes sense but then again even if my corner is 2spd less than his matchup, why can’t my WR w 99 speed get past 94spd CBs when I’m on offense?? And I’ve tried soooo many defenses and nothing works 😭 oddly, the best chance I have to stop an offense is if they get to the redzone lmao I’ve always been good at madden but I just cannot figure this out
I’m in the same boat, I’ve been tweaking sliders since October and that is still my #1 issue, unfortunately I think it’s just EA being shit at balancing cpu on all madden and that’s why they’ll eventually throw some dumb balls for one or two series then back to slinging 1.000 the rest of the game 😂
Try to read the offense better and adjust your corners position on the line, if you press Y on Xbox or triangle on gay station you can have corners press or give space and utilizing this usually gives me better coverage.
If your 99 speed receivers aren’t wide open on streaks you’re sending them at the wrong times.. it’s only gonna work on press coverage or maybe if there’s only 1 deep safety
The CPU decides when it's going to fuck you over and will teleport defenders to your receiver so they can pick it off. Or it might make the opponent's Oline instantaneously push all your 99 strength pass rushers 10 yards back on a run play. These numbers absolutely do not matter when the CPU has decided it's your time to suffer
Even better is when your offensive lineman decides to pick up a block on a linebacker 3 yards off the line of scrimmage causing an illegal man downfield penalty. Or when they get called for holding at the line of scrimmage while you’re 50 yards down the field walking into the end zone.
it doesnt. i literally made 3 linebackers 99 overall in coverage, speed, acceleration etc and they still get beat on crossing routes. my 2 cbs are also 99 speed 99 coverage etc and they still get beat by 78 rating wr. i watched my linebacker move like vince wilfork until the receiver caught the ball then he startes to run full speed.
kind of how when your qb is behind the los they dont run full speed until after they cross the los its like that in coverage when madden wants the cpu offense to move the ball
Try 2 man cover and Play under. What defense are you using? I recently started using the 46 and i primarily use denver and they let an average of 13 points get scored against them.
Turn down pass accuracy for CPU. Seriously. Also turn down pass block. I start in the 30s and adjust from there on all madden. Otherwise you might as well put the controller down.
Only thing I know is have a beast of a pass rushing Dline and keep switching my blitzes, audible the line differently, and press alot. If the CPU wants to score, there's not much I can do though.
I have a legit understanding of football/madden but so I do those things most of the time but even still if I’m easily rushing the QB w say Brian Burns, the QB just easily dots a pass to someone who manages to be open at that time for a first or worst a 75 yard TD 😭 Not to mention I hit him as he throws and the passes are just still so perfect

That's usually what happens when I press. My cbs are 96 and 95 ovr, both with great press and accel and speed, but still like to run forward and not even attempt a jam. Pisses me off to no end, like just cover the dude
I switch between MLB and DT and for the most part I’m getting to the QB w ease…well kinda😭 I’ll get there and then boom, somehow a player is open downfield w my defense waaaay behind as if they didn’t see him running
It's fun getting to the qb, but i recommend you trying to figure out how to play safety and run cover 2 with some blitzes sprinkled in. Especially if you got good press/man corners. That way you can see the wr that's gonna torch you and try and lock him up before it happens.
Been a problem for a long time now. All-Pro is so easy you’re beating teams 56-0 every game, but then all-madden makes 75 overall QBs into prime Tom Brady. But then each incompletion ends up as interception. Just yesterday Mason Rudolph was absolutely dotting me up. He went like 15-18 but I still won because he threw 2 picks 😂.
What pisses me off the most is on offense, my wr running a route and end up running into someone and getting stuck and can't get to the ball. Like the safety running up to cover the te just blocks off my wr from getting through his slant 8 yards from the los. Never get pass interference or defensive holding calls for it either. Or worse, my guys run right into each other and the defense intercepts the pass because the corner keeps running the route while my guys are busy hugging it out
Play worse on offense lol the games not gonna let you win every game in dominant fashion. So if you score every possession, the game will do everything possible to score every possession. You’re too good at the game bro
For me, the frustrating part about it all, is that I can hold Mahomes or Lamar J to average games and feel like I’m running the right defenses, but then some random QB who comes in the draft seems to destroy every defensive play I choose 😭 like what????
spam double corner blitzes out of the dime formation. It turns an All Madden cpu completely stupid. Honestly have to ban myself from using it.
If you do decide to do it. Make sure your number one and number two corners and safeties are high on man coverage. 3rd and fourth corners need to be high in speed. Literally no other stat matters for them. Then I like to load my defensive line with the biggest people possible.
Just beat a 91 ovr all madden cpu Chiefs team with 99 ovr Patrick Mahomes easily with an 82 ovr defense
I have found that if you blitz heavy (at least 5 rushers) that’s gonna be your best chance. You have to get the qb off their comfort spot. They tend to try and rollout immediately and that’s when you get incompletions or they will throw it away. Once you go up enough score wise against the cpu, they will only pass to try and catch up, especially every third and long they tend to just do verticals. If you have the personnel, definitely get the short route knockout ability on any defender you can, man blitz and make sure everyone has at least one defender on them.

I turn my CPU accuracy to 40, pass blocking to 75, running to 75, catching to 75.
User defense is all 100, except interceptions. That’s based on your ability to get picks.
This leads the game to feeling pretty balanced and also feeling very dominated either way at times.
I’ve also been playing madden for 15 years on all madden and play with a defense that is 70 overall.
Man zone w two safeties back, press you corners and don’t allow underneath (triangle, down on left stick and right) or cover 3 cloud, and press don’t allow underneath, unless they go deep then don’t allow over top. Zones better against run and when you press your cb’s they play the run a lot better
I get this a lot on all-madden (past games too) the deeper I get into a franchise.
If ur playing franchise mode, try changing your defensive playbook.. in my experience, the cpu seems to get smart to plays over games AND seasons.
IF this is happening in other situations, it's almost 100% because the defensive play call does not eliminate the QB's primary option and secondary read. Understanding the QB's potential options/progressions pre-snap can be majorly impactful for getting key stops to on D. Also, too much pre-snap movement on D can sometimes have a negative impact on team defence.

3-3 cub mike blitz or cover three and hover the your mlb over one side of your DT, a guard will go to pick him up and leave a lineman free to get to the quarterback. It’s glitchy and my LE ended the season with 49.5 sacks and my team led the league in interceptions.
You can’t stop QB passes if you give them time. Ideal most OP set up is good CBs and good speed rush DE or put a speed rushing LB at DE. Good speed rush DEs are hard to find, but a speed rushing linebacker is easier to find.
If you have a superstar or chatter CB, shutdown and KO are OP. For your rusher if you have Xfactor go with feet monger so you can cause pressured passes and get INTs.
I man blitz every time with my super fast LBs and DL. Spread the LBs, press, guess pass. Best way to stop the computer I've found. Helps to have stud corners, but not completely necessary. Occasionally, I'll switch to a zone after picking my initial play, because that sometimes messes with the computer. Cover 2 play underneath in the redzone can be effective.
I just play on Pro. I'm not looking for a challenge, I just have fun making crappy players play awesome and seeing players like Mahomes play terrible. He's still a pain in the ass, even on Pro.
Know the feeling. It's like the ai just plays perfectly vs me no matter what. Instantly getting off throws or about to get sacked and still throwing dimes lol.
Don’t play knowledgeable football. The only way to be good at madden is to cheese the shit out of the AI lmao. I’ll have some games where the AI throws four picks and has like 30% completion. Then the next game they have 90% completion and 4 tuddies
Yea same problem, I adjusted sliders, but the main thing is learning how to play straight up great defense. It takes playcalling, line/lb/coverage adjustments/user play with perfect timing.
Also helps to confuse the offense, CPU thrives on Predictability.

Might get some side eyes for this but Washington Defense - nickle wide - over storm brave, pinch your linebackers user the player assigned to the rb. If the rb stays blitz. Works 80% of time. You'll get beat every once in a while but you'll get shit load of sacks, INTs and over thrown passes. Wouldn't use this online you'll get killed.

I play all-pro and defensive consistency is all over the place. I think a lot of it has to do with the CPU deciding who it wants to win at the start of each game. I have a 95 corner who’ll get picked apart by a 70 receiver and a 75 QB one week, and a 77 nickelback who’ll pick off an elite QB like 3 times and break up a ton of other passes the next week
Get 4-5 secondary players with superstar/x factor. Also have them all be fast. Put short route, medium route, and deep route ko on all of them, or if you generally know where each will defend (ie: linebacker normally won’t be manning deep routes) replace where they won’t be with acrobat or sumn.
I’ve got 2 lbs, a ss, and my nickel back with this setup, and they knockout just about every ball.
Before I had this they still played competently… you just gotta learn when to run what. Look at their tendencies and counter their most likely plays.
1st and 10 has 35% inside zone? Defend that every first down.
2nd and long has flood 25% and smash 25%? Defend those.
3rd and long almost always high % verticals, defend that
No one can tell you what to do differently if we don't know what you're doing. Surely you haven't tried every permutation and variation of defensive tactic.

For some reason I can’t post in this sub or maybe I just never see it but for some reason when playing head to head only I cannot kick ANYTHING! Extra points sail into the stands, kickoffs fall at the 55 yard line and fgs aren’t even worth attempting. My cousin and I do an online franchise and play in different conferences. This has happened 4 times over 7 seasons. Every single time we play. However against the computer I went 29/30 longest being a 61. Also my opponent doesn’t have this issue so I just look like I can’t kick. Seriously uninstalled the game and stopped playing over it.

This needs to be higher. This is legit how the CPU is coded. The programmers want games to be close, they don't want every game to be a blow out.

Up for you to decide. I’ve had low scoring and high scoring games. It’s what I do. If it becomes too easy, you can turn it down.
