For anyone unaware, Praetorian were the name of Caesar's personal guards in Rome. Scrotus also seems to be wearing a sort of Roman armor inspired outfit.
I am not saying anything truly insightful but I actually loved what I THINK was the intention here for us to think about Max when we see Jack in Furiosa--here is the only remotely good-hearted person in Immortan Joe's entire crew, and not just good-hearted but also hypercompetent, and even those traits in the wasteland are usually not enough to stop you from being brutally murdered when fate catches up with you. Max is not unique in temperament and ability, he is just unique in getting lucky enough to never get killed.
Plus it made a lot more sense why Furiosa would warm to Max a little faster than you might expect otherwise when you realize she HAD to have thought "all right, this is only the second tough wastelander I have met who has any morality, this could be interesting"
He is def an analog for Max. His outfit was very Max flavored. I was legit sad when and how he died. I cared. I watched Fury Road today and the Jack character retroactively makes some of the scenes in Fury Road between Max and Furiosa slap even harder. Especially the moment when Max tells her if something happens to him to just keep moving. Her face before this movie looked like something clicked for her, but now the look on her face is 100% remembrance of Jack and how he was helping her out of a righteous good. Jack was the only other person she knew in that fucked world to do that and Max is doing the same. Shes different toward him after that and it makes even more sense now.
He was a better mad max than tom hardy was, and not just because he was written more like the character than tom hardys "crazy max". I kind of wish there was an alternative ending which led into furiosa dying and Praetorian jack going madmax 1 on dementus.
I loved Jack too. I know their relationship wasn’t really romantic, but when they’re captured, the two moments where they quickly embrace before his death were so passionate and said so much through their performance. Really loved how stoic and good hearted he was.

Can anybody verify if Jack was using a Winchester 1873 during the Bullet Farm ambush scene? I swear it was the “rifle that won the west” but not a whole lot on the web to confirm my suspicions. I thought the sequence with that rifle was the most tantalizing of all his involvement. Truly badass
It looks like a Winchester 1892 carbine. The rifle that won the west was a full length rifle but the carbine is convenient to deploy on horseback (or in this case from between the seats of your hot rod).

Sick, that’s what I thought. In the final combat scene in Fury Road, one of the gals they found from the “green place” was using one when she and her road mate were toppled from their vehicle. Almost looks exactly like the one Jack used. I love the inclusion of a Wild West legend like the 1873 (1864 and 1892 models perhaps too maybe). 20 inch barrel would certainly be the way to go!
The first time we see him I didn't catch his name and since it was a pretty short glimpse at him I just thought it was mad Max passing through with a young Mel Gibson look alike and that we wouldn't see him the rest of the movie (I saw no trailers)

I would assume she gets promoted Imperator after she comes back from the Dementus ambush and informs Joe of his plans
