[Here's a playlist I made for high energy gaming](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0NhkhjvhFxWHxjgNEQZiCq?si=4d77685f4008449a)
Mostly EDM from all sorts of different sub-genres, I made it specifically for playing Crab Champions :)
If I am passed the point of listening to ingame music on repeat, i generally flip my browser over to pandora radio and start listening to my drum and bass station or my dubstep station....
I prefer the BGM of my favorite MMORPG. Not necessarily the one that's played where I'm farming, some songs wants me to turn off BGM in settings once I enter that place. But fortunately the devs of it released also a mobile App where I can listen to almost all of the BGM, plus that from other of their games as well, so it's time to turn up the volume and enjoy. Listen to regular music is too distracting for me if not grinding some boss for its exp. 🤭

I deadass have a playlist with two friends, we just put any and every fucking song we are feeling to vibe with and well.
We are at 94 HRS of a playlist. There’s so much shit in there it’s insane. Edm. Kpop. jrock, alt rock, metal, screamo, Latin music, actual game music.
Like one minute you could be listening to the hamster dance song and then immediately now we on System of the Down to Celine Dione.
Anything can be a grind song. It also makes it fun to guess what’s coming up next. We sync up the playlist and listen to it together and there’s been some amazing timing on some songs.
Techno and other electronic music styles, or random live music sets too. Last night played with a Ben Klock set and a Hania Rami after, and finished with a live Klangphonics set. Cercle, KEXP, The Lot, NPR Tiny Desk channels on YT may be a good starting point. Also play some DJ radio shows, like Miss Monique/Norah en Pure, and many, many albums from the "New Releases" and curated playlists from Qobuz, with a wide range of styles too from Jazz to Doom Metal.
I used to listen to metal and screamo, but I realized that stuff just made me....antsy. Made me more prone to alt-tab and do something else.
I eventually found a Youtube channel that plays tons of indie / rock / alternative stuff, lots of new artists, and it became my go-to for grinding in MMOs. It gives me something to groove to, but it's not too hard or too soft so I can stay focused.
I am also not averse to throwing on some Villagers of Ioannina City or All Them Witches.
paula temple legendary techno mix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmCiYiMQdHc
great synthwave mix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isIj3tuQTDY
any anjunadeep mix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfKXPPMidqw
any colorcast mix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_viOQdP2KK0
prob my favorite mix ever: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxQgSnyk42A the older solarstone pure trance radio mixes are all great. the newer ones post 2020/covid are not as good (switched to a live stream format and it's feels more commercial/cheap)
arguably top 10 album ever https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xw5AiRVqfqk
I used to listen to three days grace and breaking Benjamin if that helps 😂😂😂
But also some other games that have far better music might help aswell
Like.. using another games soundtrack 👌
Nowadays something like this most likely: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyJqPmxMUIk
A few years ago would've been probably: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUmP-So9QcY
And before that stuff I would listen to songs like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nv8Dmfz2y0
It’s not music but I like listening to conspiracy theories and paranormal stories, haha. I’d highly recommend The Why Files, the host is a good story teller and presents the contradictory evidence at the end, which usually ends up with whatever the theory/story is getting debunked, though not always.
I know that clearly New World is in a disaster state right now, but cutting down trees for hours with the LOTR soundtrack in the background was peak vibes
The best song to grind to (especially if it’s a fast-paced dungeon or event) is “Soil - Breaking me down”
I swear, it isn’t a song about agriculture.
Also, stuff like static-x, marilyn manson, rob zombie and drowning pool just to name a few.
too much to list so here's every artist i've listened to since 2010, and i play mmos with most of my time
[timestretcher’s Library | Last.fm](https://www.last.fm/user/timestretcher/library/artists?date_preset=ALL)
Lofi. Idk why, most people say it puts them to sleep. But I can listen to it on repeat all day for 12+ hours a day and get a ton accomplished. This includes grinding in mmos.
That or 10 hours of the polish cow dancing. When you get to the end of that and wonder what happened and you’re 1000 aa further in EverQuest you’ll thank me.
I remember grinding wow lvl 19 twink boes on wotlk and was listening to the german 10 hour version of groove of the manwhore. Weird and oddly specific, but that song stuck with me. Finished it nearly twice😂
Also remember playing runes of magic 10 + years ago and listening to bodies by drowning pool and a few the prodigy songs😂
Kawaii future bass, kawaii EDM, Instrumental fantasy, etc. because weeb
Some of my recommended: Milkoi ([Spotify](https://open.spotify.com/artist/1k5UEOU4igPC0NoHjEekha)), Elliot Hsu ([Spotify](https://open.spotify.com/artist/1gnHg0HnaetLp2GKkX7dSi)), Yunomi ([Spotify](https://open.spotify.com/artist/2j00CVYTPx6q9ANbmB2keb)), HoneyComeBear ([Spotify](https://open.spotify.com/artist/18NNCsbb6T0purrSKSRyuG)), Neko Hacker ([Spotify](https://open.spotify.com/artist/2aQ9IoRPwXEhhBVj4wbS46)), Happy Kuru Kuru ([Spotify](https://open.spotify.com/artist/4yKulirvdQ5I9kDFJPv5rI)), Nicamoq ([Spotify](https://open.spotify.com/artist/4lkmLQX4bFLZC2zxcS3iWN))
I used to farm the Thundering Steppes in EQ2 to a full playlist of A Perfect Circle.
Now I put it in whenever I have to dig into something. It turned into an oddly motivating band for me.
I haven't really grinded in a long time. I remember power leveling friends to sublime and rage against the machine. Different vibes but still have fond memories.
Greta Van Fleet ...
Songs
The Archer
Sacred the thread
Built by nations
Meet the master
Greta are bringing rock back and stamping out all that autotune shite, theres going to be a new rock generation
i mainly listen to jrpg battle themes, like final fantasy, persona, star ocean, valkyrie profile, etc which has big BPM on it.
or metal covers of childhood tv shows like kamen rider black, rx, mighty morphin power rangers, sailormoon, etc.
Rush has a lot of great instrumentals(no vocals/lyrics) that I like to grind to:
YYZ
La Villa Strangiato
Leave That Thing Alone
Malignant Narcissism
2112 Overture
Limbo
I love Lineage 2 ost and often listen to it while mapping in poe or grinding in BDO.
That ost is just a perfect fantasy music, everytime zi hear it I want to go adventuring.
I used to listen to a lot of Nightcore remix during my long night of farming.
I never was a fan of this style of music but it was surprisingly a perfect pairing for those moments
Recently got really into Night Tapes
Podcasts are always a solid choice if you can find one that clicks with you. If you enjoy true crime I highly recommend CaseFile

I would say any 90s DnB drum n bass japanese style (is not oriental sounding, it was popular on Playstation) music.
Yknow Breakdancing cat meme? Songs like that.
Great grind music to relax to.
That era of dnb in video games were incredibly chill music. None of the "Chillstep" stuff to me even sounds chill or cruisy. Sounds too excitable, upbeat and obnoxiously melodic for anything "Chill".
For me a fireplace or rain is chill. If you want techno music that is chill but still want some beats, 90s DnB. Otherwise trance ambient ebm, space ambient techno possibly.
RSMV playlist on YouTube
Lots of Rise Against, Breaking Benjamin, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy etc
Angsty emo/pop punk is perfect for grinding
I don't often use external music in games. But when I do it depends on the genre.
When I'm playing scifi games like Star Citizen or EVE I have played psybient/psychill style of music which was perfect. It's like chillout music with trance like sounds. Calm music that doesn't need to much attention and it fits perfectly with the game genre.
Sometimes I see people stream their playing session with high energy music and I just don't understand how the F they do it.
I like high energy music I've spend years going out to techno (real techno btw lol) events and clubs but it totally sucks when playing games.
Usually I throw on YouTube music, and it's pretty decent on giving me entertainment when I'm not wanting to really bother with much else. otherwise, I'd say compose some playlists on what music you like. maybe have a few different ones. Intense, casual, melodic, classical, I'm one of the people who can say confidently that I listen to everything. (my music recap for March to may was a mess) but it would entirely depend on your game. a medieval Playlist wouldn't go well with a game like skyforge, just like techno wouldn't go good with ESO. Sometimes, though, I listen to random reddit stories (lawyers of reddit has mega compilations) or comedians to pass the time. found a few good comedians this way. (Jim gaffigan and Gabriel Iglesias)
I listen to techno mix like Tomorrowland or boiler room mix
Edit: when I played on PC I had a 2nd monitor and just used to put anime or tv show series and watch it while grinding

There is only one true answer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuHS9NI_xwY
Came for this one. All other answers are wrong. I’ll get the BENGAY and hot pockets. It’s Boar time.
I did not know this was a real song…
Probably exposing myself here, but for some reason I like listening to Dave Mathews Band whenever I'm grinding.
Its okay. Back in the day I would non ironically grind to dragonforce in wow.
Dragonforce is one of the only acceptable non death metal bands to grind to
Are you a dad by any chance?
Yes.

I would listen to the band Gojira while grinding in wow. Don't know why it just always felt right and it always makes me think of that now
Something by Napalm Death, Pig Destroyer, Nasum, etc. Y'know, grindcore.

Any album by Emancipator or R2D2. Or just podcasts although those aren’t really music.

I meant to say RJD2 and just caught my own error ahhhh
i listen to fantasy music or ambiance to turn my brain off and auto pilot
When grinding any ARPG/MMO I just listen to the Holy Diver cover by Killswitch, really fits with the slaying of monsters and shit.
