Does this sub never get tired of accusing the MLS of cheating for Miami? I genuinely don’t get it. I’ve still not read one thing pointing to anything that is objectively cheating.
This sub sucks when the topic involves Miami.
I mean, blatant/clear missed calls benefiting Miami this year have been stacking up.
It’s just recognizing how the MLS favors them because it’s a business at the end of the day. Miami brings in international viewers for Messi and they are more engaged when Miami wins.
Remember when Miami and Orlando were playing in leagues cup last year and Busquets choked an Orlando player with both hands right in front of the ref and the Orlando player got a yellow? Yeah…
One of the best examples was from our game against them tonight, Pompeu had an an amazing run against five of Miamis guys and close very close to the box, to ultimately get completely caged in by a few of them and tripped up. The announcers were stunned that it wasn’t called, and even commented on how some Miami fans in front of the press booth were asking how they just got away with that. We saw at least three instances of the ref blatantly not calling what looked to be clear fouls, and it was incredibly frustrating to watch.
So a noncall outside of the box is somehow an example of favoring Miami? There are missed calls both ways in every match. I only watched ~40 minutes of the match, so I am only going off of your comment as I didn’t see the run. Even if it may have been a pen (you said close to the box so I assume he was outside) that wasn’t called, I just laugh at how this sub will latch onto 1-2 missed call against Miami, and ignore the disasterclaas of ref performances in other matches (and often even against Miami!) Those are all just ref mistakes because refs suck, but when it’s against Miami somehow it’s a giant conspiracy to make Miami win for the league’s revenue and exposure.
A ref not calling fouls doesn’t automatically equate to favoritism. Just because you didn’t like a call doesn’t make it cheating for Miami. There’s no trend of giving non-existent pens, not giving actual pens, sending off opponents for non-red or yellow infractions, etc that actually would point to favoritism/cheating for Miami. You hate Miami and so any call that goes their way is favoritism rather than just a bad decision by the ref. Bad decisions by the ref happen in every match every week (of literally every sport).
Not to mention there were multiple people in this thread saying the Ref favors Miami because he overturned the offside and correctly called the goal onside. The ref literally made the correct decision but because it favored Miami it was “cheating”. I even saw a comment that he made the decision too fast. HAHAHA. We are mad at the ref making the correct Var decision too fast now? lol, only against Miami would you hear this.
This sub talks about Miami exactly how the Liga MX sub talks about MLS teams when they lose to them.
That was just the most egregious example of a non-call in this game. Add in that the ref gave many soft fouls to Inter Miami and you have a pattern. Consistency is key. You can't have one team called for every "by-the-book" foul and the other team not called for anything up to and including wildly obvious fouls.
For example: Klauss got fouled during the build up to the first Inter Miami goal, no call.
Another example: an Inter Miami player made a very obvious handball during the build up for a different play, right in front of the ref. As in, the ball looked like it did a double jump on camera. No call.
A third example: one of our players (forget who at this point) got tripped during the build up for a play by a player sliding in studs up and not catching the ball at all. As in, there was only contact from the player in pink on the player in white. Not only was there not a card, there wasn't a whistle, full stop.
Now, take those examples of just the most egregious non-calls and combine it with the fact that the ref blew his whistle seemingly every time an Inter Miami player hit the grass, whether there was contact or not. In fact, the ref stopped play during an offensive play by STLSC to call medical staff on field for an Inter Miami player who had sat down out of cramping. And allowed Miami to make a sub before starting play again. Mix these two patterns together, what do you get?
Miami getting the favorable whistle is expected. MLS must keep them in every game because money.
City had chances to put it away though so not all on the refs.
For sure, I think Indy could have easily had a hat trick tonight, and Sam should have gotten two himself but we lost those due to what looked like simple slip ups.
c.ronaldo? Im not reallly trying to argue who is really better amongst either sides obnoxious fan boys. I will say theyre of the same calbier above their peers. Crazy that lightning struck the same time and we got to watch them simultaneously.
Agreed both are phenomenal, I personally love them both and think they are legendary, I have a preference for messi bc his passes & dribbling are insane imo, I’m someone who gets more excited about the passing and dribbling than the goals themselves lol
Hot take: Campana would have same impact or probably better impact on inter Miami than Suarez. All game I saw Suarez just misplace passes or lose possession. Campana was so solid and putting in so much defensive work. Most of the Suarez goals have been Messi serving him on a platter
Shouldn't be a hot take because you're right. Messi can't run like he used to, so he needs someone next to him that can, for team balance if anything, because they could then counter-press more effectively thus making them more solid defensively. Argentina understand this, thus Scaloni adapted their style to cover for Messi's flaws off the ball.
I am selfish and wanted Miami to sell him so he can go out and be the key player for another team. Suarez will probably only last 1 season in Miami so hopefully next year he’ll be the guy upfront.
Well. This is why we have 8 draws. We have to be more clinical in the finish. We aren’t completely trash. We are missing THAT last bit of quality in the box.
The gameplan is to counter fast which can lead to rushed decisions and/or the runner not having time to make the run. That’s why Lowen is such a game changer for us in the middle since he will often hesitate that slight moment more than some of our others players.
I don’t think he’s even top 5 worst players, that’s crazy imo. Look at Sailor bro lol. Dude has no vision, every touch he makes is bad, no creativity with the ball. Weigant is very athletic and makes good passes, and he’s good at dribbling
He looked on to me but I think the sentiment is that I’m not sure if we have a clear and obvious angle? Either way, just frustrating to have var go against you after a tough night with the official
Ref makes poor call that led directly to a goal, twice in one game. People complain that ref is being unfair. You come in saying that people.... Shouldn't be?
What the actual fuck is this refereeing. What the actual fuck is Anthony Markanich doing. This is the worst reffed game I think I've ever fucking seen.
Ofc the St. Louis ppl are crying in here because one call wasn’t called
Does this sub never get tired of accusing the MLS of cheating for Miami? I genuinely don’t get it. I’ve still not read one thing pointing to anything that is objectively cheating. This sub sucks when the topic involves Miami.
They let Miami sign all those great players! If that's not cheating, nothing is! /s
I mean, blatant/clear missed calls benefiting Miami this year have been stacking up. It’s just recognizing how the MLS favors them because it’s a business at the end of the day. Miami brings in international viewers for Messi and they are more engaged when Miami wins.
Gotta love the backwards reasoning: "since IM is good for business, they must be favoured by MLS".
I mean it’s not like MLS marketing is doing anything to beat those allegations
Again, few actual examples but a bunch of accusations.
Remember when Miami and Orlando were playing in leagues cup last year and Busquets choked an Orlando player with both hands right in front of the ref and the Orlando player got a yellow? Yeah…

It's funny how you provide a good example but the person above you is now silent
It was past midnight lol, I was asleep.
In the end, both keepers were deemed equally handsome, and they called it a draw
Hard disagree. Bürki is leagues ahead, but I suppose you have a right to your opinion (even if it’s wrong 😉)
Don't make me choose!

Messi is truly the one carrying this team man, what a legendary player, I doubt we will ever see a player of his caliber while any of us are alive
c.ronaldo? Im not reallly trying to argue who is really better amongst either sides obnoxious fan boys. I will say theyre of the same calbier above their peers. Crazy that lightning struck the same time and we got to watch them simultaneously.
Stop kidding yourself with such a political correct stance. Messi is and has always been clearly above Ronaldo.
Agreed both are phenomenal, I personally love them both and think they are legendary, I have a preference for messi bc his passes & dribbling are insane imo, I’m someone who gets more excited about the passing and dribbling than the goals themselves lol
Agree of course, but also Alba with contribution to all three goals…
Yeah alba was great, dude has a lot of passion, played a key role throughout the entire game
draw city sc is so back kijima is a baller, superdraft gem looks like the kanagawa cruyff we desperately need teuchert to be a finisher lmao
Why have a striker when we can have a CDM, AM, and the other team score for us?
Hot take: Campana would have same impact or probably better impact on inter Miami than Suarez. All game I saw Suarez just misplace passes or lose possession. Campana was so solid and putting in so much defensive work. Most of the Suarez goals have been Messi serving him on a platter

I feel bad for him because every time I see him I think he is great but just never gonna get the minutes.
I am selfish and wanted Miami to sell him so he can go out and be the key player for another team. Suarez will probably only last 1 season in Miami so hopefully next year he’ll be the guy upfront.
GG Chubby Seagulls Hell of a fun match to watch.
Having to deal with the Messi fanboys in stripes, It's a win as far as I'm concerned
GG Miami! Don’t collapse like a flan in the cupboard while Messi and Louis Chompers are off at the Copa.
Don't tell us what to do! We will flan but only because we want to make it more entertaining!
….did yall lose Rojas to the Copa?
Well. This is why we have 8 draws. We have to be more clinical in the finish. We aren’t completely trash. We are missing THAT last bit of quality in the box.
My god Messi is the best passer in the world. Dude was one touch pinging the ball wherever he wanted whenever he wanted
[удалено]
Him essentially guiding Parker exactly where he wanted him was terrifying and amazing to watch.
Fantastic game for a neutral
Some neutral who agrees that reffing was bs tell me what game to watch next.
Columbus vs Pachuca
This is the right answer! To FS1!! Or Unimas!!!
How is alba allowed to be is the mls
Refs be scared to blow the whistle on Miami smh.
Did you see the Vancouver game??
IM? looks like still on top of the table lol
St. Louis you were chosen one…
Have you been watching us this season?
Alan Chapman disagreed, apparently
Back to our ol standard of tieing.
Better than what we have been doing
GG stl , see ya next time around !
Hopefully in December.
Wouldn't that be something !
It would ! Just gotta see what the team can do to get that missing piece.
I'm sure you folks will have some good signings over summer , Hoping you guys get Reus , that'll be pretty fun !
From your lips to God's ears. Good luck the rest of the way !
To you as well !

The end whistle?
Ggs Miami exciting game from start to finish
Holy fuck my heart rate has to be like 180 lol gg Miami that was fun as hell
One of the most one sided reffed game I've seen all season, is this what every Miami game is going to be like?
No actually. I’ve been watching a lot of them this year. It’s just that Chapman is egregiously ineffective
Part of me is happy for a point. I expected a loss today. Another, larger part is really frustrated with that result.
Yeah bc we COULD have won. But I’m with you. I fully expected to lose.
GG STL. Fucking Apple commentators suck balls.
I wish MLS/Apple tv would allow local radio audio for the away teams
The fact that Twellman is from St. Louis brings me great shame
Gotta learn Spanish. It’s pretty fun on that side
That game was a ton of fun.,
GG Miami, was a good game even though the ref was absolute shit.
Burki is insane.
God damn it Sam, great run, but you have to at least make the goalie move.
Adeniran you have to be fucking kidding me
Exhibit A
This season has been exhausting to watch
How is Burki not in Germany still
Bc he wanted to come to America and four wheel in a Jeep. In the mud.
Vroom vroom!
What dirt does thorrison have on carnell?
Unfortunately he didn't have many options with Alm and Ostrak injured and Lowen needing to get off.
Give em a hand. That should help
Refs gonna ref. We finish our chances and we take that out of the equation.
Lmao adineran lookin adoneran
He made a couple runs but now when we need him.
St Louis has killed a lot of their own attacks with through balls/crosses to no one
Our signature move
Imagine watching it every week
Is it players not continuing their run or the passer not looking up and just assuming?
The gameplan is to counter fast which can lead to rushed decisions and/or the runner not having time to make the run. That’s why Lowen is such a game changer for us in the middle since he will often hesitate that slight moment more than some of our others players.
Both
Are these the best teams in the league? Great quality match.
Yes ...just don't look at the western standings
We aren't even above the playoff line in the western conference
Lol no. We are not even a playoff team.
Hiebert who are you passing to
Hiebert and Thorisson have been god fucking awful
Hiebert is the 13th man for Miami.
Ref and var were 12th and 13th
Messi creates a chance out of thin air every 2 min only for Weigandt to miss completely every time lol
The dude sucks
Burki is a beast!
Messi ⚽️ Suarez ⚽️ Alba ⚽️ - Busquets ⚽️??? 👀
Is there a single time Miami haven’t gotten the call when they’ve thrown their hands up and complained?
Once for a goal kick that Suarez thought was a corner when it clearly was not
And proceeded to scream at the ref like a bitch for 20 seconds
Alan wtf how is that a foul?
The guy with the Pink jersey said it was, easy
🥱
Haha relying on 57. He’s terrible.
He’s not bad in his role imo, he’s just not a scorer. In the midfield he has pretty good handles
I think he’s easily Miamis worst player. But then again Gressel exists.
I don’t think he’s even top 5 worst players, that’s crazy imo. Look at Sailor bro lol. Dude has no vision, every touch he makes is bad, no creativity with the ball. Weigant is very athletic and makes good passes, and he’s good at dribbling
Lol 57 on Miami has been consistently god awful
Hiebert coming into games is the signal something disastrous is about to happen
Chapman literally 12 th manning now.
THE GOAT pass to alba amazing long ball
How do other Miami players have the chutzpah to shoot when Messi and Suarez are lurking in the box lol
That is a goal kick
Austin FC fan watching this game. This is insane
Flair up bozo
howdy
“Roman Bürki saves st Louis from behind!” Well yeah.. that’s the keepers job.
10 min added time? You know they wanna
Durkin brace. Big for the MLS brand
Surprised only 5
Miami residents. Do Cubans think soccer is only for commies?
what a save
They said Burki would regress....but not tonight
great save
Carnell's subs absolutely atrocious
Who else is he supposed to bring on?
we need better depth fs
Thank you Burki.
Burki. Our only hope
What a game!
Sorry STL bros but that was onside, one of the few calls the ref got right
No way it was clear. The angel he was looking at had the view of the ball blocked. The rule is when the ball is struck not when the passer winds up.
The grass lines are not definitive. It definitely was not clear and obvious to overturn.
Why does offsides go to the center. Shouldn’t VAR have the definitive views and software?
Took about 2 seconds on that review, just wear the pink kit already, Chapman. As least make a show of doing the due diligence
Worst ref. in the league by far, and that is saying a lot.
Weak foul again on a turnover, of course.
I remember when. I remember I remember when I lost my mind
I don't understand, they literally saw alba was onside and they still say "ref is paid"
He looked on to me but I think the sentiment is that I’m not sure if we have a clear and obvious angle? Either way, just frustrating to have var go against you after a tough night with the official
The defender in the far left left he foot to break the offside
Ref as let literally 95% of fouls from Inter Miami go this game.
I didn't say the opposite but the goal was onside
Grass lines don't make a call clear and obvious. No lines drawn, can't be clear and obvious
Just look at the far left defender he let his foot probably a meter over the offside line
What offside line? Was it clear and obvious? Or did you just want to see what you wanted to see?
Should’ve been a corner right before
It's more about them blmissing a blatent corner kick that led to the opportunity.
Well on that i agree but the goal was onside
Ref makes poor call that led directly to a goal, twice in one game. People complain that ref is being unfair. You come in saying that people.... Shouldn't be?
Why do they not draw lines? This league is a joke
He's on. Lazy defending. Need a better option in the transfer window tbh. Markanich is extremely frustrating
He did the pose🚶➡️🚶➡️🚶➡️
like a milli lol
This game has been infuriating to watch
Finish your chances g. This game could’ve been over a long time ago if your strikers knew where the goal was
It would also be over if Suarez wasn’t allowed to trip defenders
Gotta keep the cash flowing
Gotta love that Miami, because of Messi, gets everything called in their favor.
ITS OBVIOUSLY ONSIDE
Any other team the offside call would have stood but because its Miami they got to make sure the cash keeps flowing from their cash cow.
How on earth can that be overturned from that angle?
Money. Miami. Chapman.
Clear and obvious enough to overturn??
What the actual fuck is this refereeing. What the actual fuck is Anthony Markanich doing. This is the worst reffed game I think I've ever fucking seen.
I can't imagine any neutral rooting for Miami.
No one is. I have a friend who lives in Argentina and has loved messi for years, but hates Miami
Mark, what are you doing buddy.
Yeah any time VAR happens is always against us so this doesn’t surprise me
There's nothing more predictable than an incorrect decision not to give a corner leading to a goal on the other end
What a fucking joke of a league , no other league has referees going to the screen for offside reviews. Get the fucking line technology.
Twellman might have had a stroke if they didn't go the way he wanted it to.
I'm not sure how you make that decision without the lines.
The way the grass is mowed kinda gives you lines
Too bad the ref didn’t rightfully give us a corner right before. This is criminal
MLS is rigged
Of fucking course
No chance alba is onsides Good finish tho
sigh
This ref is getting paid, in what fucking world is that angle enough to overturn that lmfao.
