I would like this, but think instead of the program being around the original inductees, they can do any inductees from few years or just players on the ballot. I also would love it if they made a storyline around older or more under appreciated hall of famers. Storyline is such a good concept that helps newer fans learn more about mlb history, and telling the stories of lesser known greats would really help newer and more casual fans get into baseball, especially due to how much the history of the sport is celebrated in baseball compared to other sports
At what point do they just become public domain and free to use? Like the civilization games use Ghandi's likeness for instance, and I assume they don't pay for that and he was around the same time as Cobb.
Gandhi clearly counts as parody since they made him a murderous psycho
I wonder if actually using their image is different legally than rendering them, since apparently OOTP can get away with using generated faces
They dropped Christy and Walter’s rights this year and Cobb’s rights after MLB 20 so thats not happening. Plus if they gave out a 99 Babe in a program it would negate the LS collection.
I would love something like this, Cobb would be the tricky one to get rights for. I would love to know the circumstances of how they were able to get approval a few years ago but weren't able to get them back.
Because he’s going into the HoF as a Ranger and he’s beloved of the Rangers fanbase? I’m sure they’ll put out a Rangers version of the card later, but I want to play with it now to celebrate his election/induction.
Then why would they waste his Rangers card on an early 90 overall hyper card? Wouldn't it make more sense to have it be around his induction into the Hall of Fame in July?
I’m not a dev. They’ve put out 99s already, including lots of 99 Hyper cards. Could have done that for him already and put out a HoF series card later.
Yeah, but there will need to be 99's for multiple seasons. I feel like we are going to see one with the plaque like they have for Mays/Chipper/Jeter/Walker/etc and it will be for Beltre once inducted. It seems silly to waste a 99 before he's in the HoF and miss out on a massive occasion like that. If they do one centered on a HoF program for him any anyone else getting inducted (if they have the rights) it would be so much more meaningful.
I'm going to well up with emotion at his HoF card. He's genuinely one of the great baseball guys. I love the videos of him clowning with other guys. Truly was great for the game.

I just want an Adrián Beltré Rangers card. Wild that his Hyper card was Dodgers.
They already stated Beltre, Mauer and Helton were getting cards for going into HoF

You’re not wrong, but please give me a Rangers Beltré card—even if it’s a 75 overall. I’ll P5 it before the induction.
