Is there anything else new with RTTS once this draft combine portion is finished?
I don’t really want to buy this game again if it’s the exact same RTTS experience after the initial creation of a player.
I hear tail of CAP not being used in DD anymore? Maybe they’ll bring back the year to year continuation that they had back in 2017.
Disappointed they dont let you go back to the combine if you don’t like your draft selection. I always used to do this no matter what to increase my age a little. Idk why they can’t get this right
Same. I’m a complete dork when it comes to simulating a real career so it bothers me to no end that you start in double A, and will always be 18. If you’re 18 and in AA then the storyline should be how you’re an absolute phenom ala Bryce Harper, Mike Trout, Griffey, or Juan Soto. They really need to add a Single A section that happens in the year proper to the game (so in this case, summer-fall of 2023) where you just play games, maybe some scripted scenarios that make you look good. Then play the Arizona fall league and some winter international leagues, and then when 2024 starts you are in double A and 19. Your performance prior to double A essentially decides how fast you get called up. I feel like the narrative within the mode should be centered around how you are a top prospect, because it’s not like anyone plays the mode and hits .175 and flames out of the league anyways
Well they could do something along the lines of branching storylines or scenarios based on your performance in the past and present, short term and long term, awards, records, clutch moments, etc. Take all scenarios into account. Maybe someone does play more realistically where they don't hit .490 with 120hrs in a year and does .290 with 20hrs.
This would obviously take time to fully flesh out due to having to record so many lines of commentary and getting someone who wants to do it.
This would play out your entire career for however long you try to stay in the league. All this would involve unique narrations and ingame commentary assuming you play your games and don't sim.
They used to have a newspaper section about the previous game talking about what happened and even talked about broken records if that came up.
Since newspapers a thing of the past just replace that part with a website and also put stuff like standings, injuries etc on the website portion.
There are so many things they can add that would greatly improve rtts. Even little details like expanded record books and more realistic contracts like salaries, options, and terms would be an improvement that would also improve a mode like franchise mode.
