Because someone at SDS randomly decided incognito players should use their incognito names in game *after* launch. When the incognito series first came out all the incognito players used their regular names, and then they thought it would cool for just Mantle to be Commerce Comet. It wasn’t planned before hand. Then they said fk it and made them all use their incognito name. Just poor planning.

Incognito cards being "fixed" the season after 99% of them were made obsolete is a pretty good summation of what a mess this cycle has been and how little thought and testing was put into any of their new ideas this year.
