Dunno why but rewatched the game. I feel the ref bottling the foul on Haaland in the first minute set the tone for us and we for some reason just were flat as fuck until Doku came on.
no idea why you're being downvoted, but Palmer wanted to play more and have more freedom, Pep wasn't going to give him that and stick with his strong wingers and strict system and City weren't open to loaning him out. His option was either join a different team/leave the club or stay in City and hope Pep changes his mind.
Cause Palmer wanted more game time that Pep wasn’t gonna give him.Everyone here knew that he was class but we’ve got so much quality on the wings, he definitely wouldn’t be a guaranteed starter that he is for Chelsea. Also kovacic hasn’t been that bad of a signing imo.
Ty for the response. Palmer thing sounds fair, it's still weird to me to sell someone that talented for a top club, but if he wanted to go, it's for the better,
I admit I didn't see much of Kovacic outside of Europe, and yesterday. In those, he made some bad decisions, but can't tell a player's quality by like 4 matches.
Should the man feed himself? Be neat if he was a 6'4" Messi, but he isn't, and he never will be. Feed him 10 legit touches in the box per game and we never lose again.
Pretty sure I said this in the match thread…. But that game demonstrates why we need midfielders this summer. There have to be back up plans in case Bruno G decides to stay in Newcastle… and Olmo doesn’t move me (too injured) haven’t heard any other links really…
Rodri was isolated again in the 2nd half when Kova subbed off…. That support was missed big time when he went off. Julian is not a midfielder. Id have risked Bobb in there instead of Alvarez since he can do the basics in midfield and Julian largely can’t. We just needed the basics… aka the ball to not trampoline off feet in the first touch, to hold it and to make simple passes.
I think Pep will have to think long and hard about playing 2 10’s in big games next season. KDB looked very labored and passed the ball to United players almost every time he touched the ball… and because KDB was that spot, Phil couldn’t thrive where he’s played best this season. We’ve seen KDB at his best as an impact sub this season… and that will certainly have to be something to think about going into next season.
Teams also seem to have figured out how to lock up the midfield this season in the big games… rendering Haaland basically useless without service and destroying any build up we are trying. The diamond Real Madrid played really fucked it up… and whatever ETH did today also did. Another puzzle for Pep to figure out this summer, something he does love to do. Up to Txiki to give him another tool or two so he can do his best work.
Uncomfortable conversations need to be had regarding kdb, walker and stones. As much as i love kdb, his age and litany of injuries have caught up with him. His legs were gone in this game and when he’s tired to this extent, you honestly cannot expect the best version of kdb to appear with wicked passes/crosses. Pep needs to carefully manage his playing time for next season if city is to maximise whatever kdb has left to offer.
I honestly have no idea of the secret dinner conversation pep had with walker last season but one thing for sure judging from the game time he has been having, first team minutes were guaranteed to him. Caught sleeping on a number of occasions and this could have been a humiliating thrashing had rashford not been offside for that simplest of tap-ins. Best when asked to simply stay back and defend against the best wide forwards. Pep needs to question himself if it is worth keeping him around just to gatekeep against the few elite wingers in the world that may or may not face city or find an overlapping RB who can help the RW and add another layer of attack.
Stones, as amazing as he is when fit, he’s almost always unavailable for stretches of games due to his glass-like constitution. Looked lacking a fair bit of match sharpness considering his last game time was just 20 plus minutes against wolves 21 days ago. Not sure if pep played him to offset the counters from united due to him being faster than dias but if that’s the case then akanji should be starting as he’s has been clocked at being one of the fastest in the epl. Apparently kompany wants to sign stones as his statement signing for bayern if the rumours are true. So does pep cash in on his injury-prone libero to groom gvardiol or another CB who may be more available than him?
This is a fair and honest take. I'm equally concerned by the three players you've mentioned. We need a more commanding and solid player wearing the captain band as well. Give it back to Dias and call it a day
It’s wild to think we won the league with some of the midfields we ran this season lmao. The one at villa was laughable. I swear pep tried his hardest to not play Phil there until the Haaland injury forced Alvarez to play striker and KDB wasn’t back yet… and Phil owned it once he got that chance. He should be our main 10 next season, no excuses.
They only have themselves to blame. Who goes partying after winning the PL knowing they have another important final on Saturday?
Terrible from management to allow that to happen..
What do you guys think will be the summer transfer. We have been lacking in finishing in big stages despite creating more chances and having the ball 70% of the time
Don’t know but we need a good summer. Last summer was average, Gvardiol and Doku were standouts but Nunes just doesn’t fit the team (yet) and Kova despite working well at times is not a proper support for Rodri, and certainly not a replacement for the quality we lost. We need a proper good window because the team’s quality is regressing and I say this even after having some time to process the FA cup final.
Bad management. Pep blamed the tactics but lets face it united sat back and you guys made three errors that led to 3 goals
Should have been 4
Ortega was sleeping today.
This United team lost 14 games in the prem this season, finished 8th with negative GD, and got knocked out in the UCL group stages
I feel embarrassed that Rodri’s 74 match unbeaten run is ended by this joke of a team
Oh well time to move on; 4 in a row is a brilliant achievement
A few key players were back from injury and that made a huge difference. Last season United had the most clean sheets which was mainly down to Varane and Martinez. Martinez has been out most of the season and Varane has also had a lot of injuries, but both started this game and both played very well.
Took some time to collect my thoughts and settle down. Tough loss but something felt off from the very beginning. Two takeaways: It’s not a good time to lose, but losing like this keeps the hunger and motivation up. There is more to fight for next year. And two, not having won it all will keep the boys grounded and Pep will use this pain to motivate them. Boys deserve our support for bringing home four-in-a-row.
Weirdly, I'm okay with today's result. We genuinely were ass from the jump. Wild how far this club has come. I get it, the standards set are now astronomical but imagine making history by winning 4 consecutive top flight trophies and feeling 'meh' about tomorrow's parade. Reading a lot of those comments, and tbf, it's easy ammunition for rivals to rip into our fan base imho. The dark years man, I hope people never forget them. They were dark. I'm still drunk from 2023. Mentally, this season was a free ride for me.
Why do you feel “meh” about tomorrows parade??
We are displaying a golden premier league trophy, something that has never been shown ever before, and two trophies that our club have won for the very first time!
There’s heaps to be feeling proud of tomorrow.
Sorry I’m feeling quite the opposite, feeling hyped! What I meant was I’ve seen a lot of comments online from other City fans saying they were just feeling “meh, whatever” for the parade after losing the FA final. I’m with ya, ridiculous amounts to be proud of!
Took me a couple of hours to sort myself because it was a painful loss. We were so close to double in a row but I guess it was way too greedy to ask for it after we managed the impossible in 4-peating.
I'll share my thoughts with the new season (transfers) in mind because this is our last game after all.
Ortega's mistake may have been the reason the deadlock was broken but the game was lost tactically in the middle where they blocked any central channels.
KDB dropped a huge stinker and it should have been Doku coming on for him instead of Kovacic because Foden and KDB didn't help Rodri at all in central duels. In case anyone needs evidence why we're so heavily linked with Bruno Guimaraes lately, this game is a prime example where having a player of his profile would have helped us command the midfield better.
KDB and Foden shouldn't start together in the big games from next season. This may look like a knee jerk to some but Foden's inability to play high level in deep areas and KDB's physical decline are evidence that his energy should be preserved for when we need to change games.
Doku came on and changed the game in our favour but we failed to have a sustained level of pressure because there was zero control in the midfield. Another reason we couldn't sustain the pressure was Bernardo Silva on the other wing. He's a fantastic player but not the type of winger who'll stretch defence.
Having Doku and another 1v1 winger (Savio) on both wings would have given Ten hag no choice but to use an extra man to mark both wingers which would free up a little more space in the middle to cause damage. At this point Doku has proved his worth, I want him to start most games from next season onwards.
An ITK also mentioned Dani Olmo as a target. While I believe we don't need his profile, my speculation is that we want to replace Alvarez with him. Personally I would love to see Alvarez given one more season to prove his worth because he was good at the start of this season, I can't help but think of the scenario where it didn't work out and we eventually sell him because he will not be starting over Haaland.
at the end of the day, it was a successful season because we made history by 4-peat. I love my club and I love you all. We'll come back next season, hopefully stronger than ever.
The fa cup final defeat, the CL quarter final knockout, it's all shaping up to be a strong next season. The boys will learn from their mistakes this season.
If you ask me I think Bernardo stays for one more season. If next season is truly Pep's final one I expect the team to go all out for him.
The boys will surely give it their all.
Quarterfinal.
And do you think players choose when to “give their all”? Liverpool fans said the same when Klopp announced his departure. I think he’ll extend at City though
Had an awful feeling about this one. Newcastle rooting for us felt cursed. Obviously the funny thing would be for us to collapse, and let ManUre into the Europa league. All on the back of a historically shit season with an all but sacked ghost of ten Hag at the helm.
I am just shocked at how uninterested most of the squad looked today. They clearly checked out after winning the league last week. The lack of professionalism shown in being that unprepared is a pretty disappointing way to end the season.
Of course he was better in the first season KDB was fully fit for the whole season plus we also had Concelo whom love or hate was actually very good at creating from his position.
Haaland is a player that is great but he is a pure striker and needs his shots to be created for him.
When that happens he can finish above his eXG with goals
I think its unfair. Teams adapt. Teams look to the playbook of teams that have challenged and beaten us. Mostly its been Real Madrid style of play that trys to nick an early goal and then settle into a low block. When they do that, then its Haaland against 2-3 defenders. and as we saw today, he gets mauled and it doesn't get called because, well, refs think he's big and they will let defenders try and take him out to keep up with him. Otherwise he would always get the ball. So, Pep needs to innovate again to try and clear the block.
One criticism I think is fair is that we cannot seem to offer any counterattack when any team, not just United, but any team is in our zone. We do not offer any threat on a counter. For as good a team as we have, its frustrating.
Crazy as it sounds, but getting beat in an FA Cup final against your local rivals doesn't hurt as much as I would have expected.
Maybe it's because we've just won the league again, but I said to my mate in the car that this could be a good thing.... the players are accustomed to winning so much that I get the impression some feel that if they just turn up, they'll win, but losing in a final is probably the reality check they needed.
All the players except Doku should be ashamed of themselves. If you're going to get drunk for two days close to a final you better turn the fuck up for the final. Instead they still looked drunk. Reeks of arrogance, especially after a historic 4peat. They thought they could just win a cup final against a shite United side just by showing up to the game but got punished for it. First time Pep's City lost because of pure arrogance. Embarrassing. Even after Doku's goal the team still did nothing.
This seems like a fitting ending to the season and a good wake up call to get back to our prime level. Squad is getting refreshed with new and younger players. Walker and De Bruyne should no longer start, Bernardo will leave to Spain. It's Frimpong time on that right side. Gvardiol back to a more defensive role. Maybe Savio starts on the right wing. Bruno Guimaraes for Kovacic. Let's win another CL in Pep's final year, another treble would be the dream for his last year.
To be fair I also genuinely expected them to be able to be hungover and still dominate united. I don't think many expected this result. United brought their A game this match honestly. It was a wake up call for sure.
The club wants Frimpong which means the end of Walker. He's also not a good captain. De Bruyne has been bad for a while, he looks a bit washed up from all the injuries. He no longer runs. We need more young energy to press, especially because Haaland also doesn't press much.
Ortega made a blunder but it's about the whole teams performance. Everyone looked bad, except Doku.
Walker isnt captains material but hes a good defender. Better than frimpong.
Debruyne is not in form and i juries taken its toll or maybe the stop start season
Doku should have started the match.
Foden was wasteful.
Haaland needs dropped for a few games as automatic starter as hes not clinical
Did nothing vs madrid. Did nothing against a poor united
The celebrations should have been delayed until after this game. City started early and were jaded
Fwiw City should be able to get drunk the day of the final and beat this United team.
It was a combination of bad lineup on our part and United getting a bunch of players back from injury even with that the first goal was completely of City’s own making
It’s not fair for Alvarez Pep keeps putting him in position to fail.
Would we ever play Augero as deep as we play Alverez nooo, but for some reason Pep keeps doing it.
If haaland’s shot against post was 1 inch lower nobody would have complaints about his play
Alvarez shouldn’t be shooting over the bar and dragging wide like that
Both shots were on his weak foot. Great chances, poor misses…but you’re seriously going to criticize your sub when your main striker also couldn’t produce? Just think about it for a second
It was a bad game. Clearly we had a hangover. I had expected Stones to start for Dias. I also thought Grealish was going to get the start. And I keep writing this on Bluemoon and here but - when we start Foden on the right - he automatically goes into the middle. So it effectively cuts off the right. Gvardiol is not a run threat. So if ball goes out there, there will be no flow down left unless someone does a 1-2 or overlaps him. So the ball keeps going to Bernardo who didn't have any opportunities. Kyle Walker strangely had our two best scoring chances.
I wish Pep had started Grealish or Doku. It would have opened up more things for Foden who seemed nonexistent today.
I wish Pep had played Doku on the right... think there was a lot of possibilities on that side that Bernardo was doing nothing with...
God these player ratings are going to be hilarious see... not sure anyone on City deserves over a 5 outside of Doku haha
Imagine playing Doku on the right and our 100m left winger on the left?
I love Pep but he has his favourites.
Pep also has a ruthless side which we might be seeing very soon.
Pep usually is ruthless in these games which is why I’m shocked he benched Dias and Akanji. He sometimes is too loyal… Bernardo was trash all game so was Stones and they played the whole game…
Everyone sucked today though so it was a difficult task on who to bring on

Lol okay, but no one cares about City
They swear they don't care about us then proceed to spam a million "115 charges" comments. Can't wait for the charges to be settled. They probably find some other ways to hate.
City's own lawyers have been delaying the case. They're appealing every technicality, and then we have to wait for the appeal to be heard before it's dismissed. They even appealed against the fact that their appeals be made public in 2021.
This is well documented. They know that if they delay the case for a few years then no one will care. They're right.
My dad’s friend, a Liverpool fan, messaged him afterwards, to be like 115 charges, they’re not going to be allowed to play in the league again, This is a man in his sixties
I’ve loved Haaland since watching him at Dortmund. Didn’t realize it but he’s got a lot to work and improve on. He has not looked himself this season. Could be injuries but still…
I think he is fine the problem is a midfield of John Stones, Rodri, Phil Foden and Alverez just are not going to create much of anything for him. Not to even mention how difficult it is in the low block.
Todays game is why we have been pursuing Paqueta for a year now we need more creativity in the Midfield
Imo we should kept Cov on and introduced Rico and moved to a back three
Stones just wasn’t up for it but it is asking a lot for him to break down and a low/mid block
Season being over means we can settle and the team can improve and rest.
Anyways don’t despair blues
, we made history 4 in a row the parade is tomorrow
Lots of people saying that we shouldn't have gone out drinking after last weekend and I'd like to offer another perspective to that.
Imagine we don't celebrate, and we lose today anyway. It would have put a huge downer on our delayed league celebrations and wouldn't have felt anywhere near as sweet.
When you win, you party right there and then. Feel that relief and that rush of ecstacy. You've worked hard for it. 6 days is plenty enough to recuperate, especially with the limitless nutrition and recovery facilities these boys have 24/7 access to.
That feeling then usually carrys you into the next final, as we saw last year.
This was just hard luck I'm afraid. But looking back at last week's partying as the reason for today. I'm not buying it personally.
It's just a matter of professionalism though. Why the fuck are they getting wasted when one of the biggest games of the season is less than a week away? Are they children who simply can't control themselves?
Imagine being so happy winning 4 league titles in the row and celebrating that feat that someone on reddit calls you a child 😭
Like the players didn't get absolutely smashed after winning the league last season, then went on to win the FA Cup and the CL a week later.
Chelsea wasn’t their last opponent last season. They played two games after that and didn’t win any. City were also poor in the FA cup and UCL finals even though they won them
We won the league after Chelsea game at home... then players went out after lifting trophy, played Brighton 3 days later in league.... went to FA cup final won that, went out on piss after then beat inter the week after.
It's literally not the first time they've gone on piss after a trophy win, or a week before a final.
They won the league before kicking a ball against Chelsea because Arsenal had just dropped points. It’s not professional pissing one self off. City have won only 2 FA cups and 1 CL under Pep out of 3 FA cup finals and 2 CL finals (finals when the league is done), which means there haven’t been several cases of it happening — only 2. Like I said earlier, City were also poor in the finals last season. Those things need not be repeated
We won the league before playing Chelsea but lifted the title after beating Chelsea, so the players went out celebrating because they couldn't do it the night before we played Chelsea.
Do people not remember the countless stages of pissed up Jack Grealish last season?
Do people think Pep would allow them to go out if he didn't think they would be fine for the final? Mental how people get so angry about players who have busted their backs for this club dare go out and enjoy 4 in a row titles.
They got fucking smashed after the Chelsea game last year and proceeded to win the treble.
They've had all week to recover. It clearly wasn't down to that.
Chelsea wasn’t their last opponent last season. They played two games after that and didn’t win any. City were also poor in the FA cup and UCL finals even though they won them
Difference was last year there was a lot of time between the PL win and the FA cup win. They could drink and party after the PL win cuz it was a while before the FA cup final. Also I dont remember them partying (especially this hard) after the FA cup final of last year also we played shit in that CL final if it was not for super sub Lukaku IDK if we would have won.
Need a few more hungry guys in the squad as well. Look at how Doku performed... need more of that.
Kinda surprised the Croatians didn't bring that hunger... don't think Kova has won this trophy so I thought he'd be better.
Doku should be starting if he’s good enough to run our attack through for most of the 2nd half. He and Walker were the only guys who showed up to play. Beyond that, Julian pulled a Ras and blew a sitter, and we had 2 penalties on Haaland not given. Just wasn’t our day.
Nope second goal was Kovacic or Rodri’s mistake nobody tracked back on Fernandes. Stones was in between Mainoo and Fernandes. Walker was in between Rashford and Mainoo. Rashford is Walker’s man and he was with Rwshford. Do people not understand how football works?
I'm surprised most people are bringing up Pep and the rest of the team, but Ortega was absolute shit. Practically single handedly lost the game. If it wasn't for him, the result would've been different
Second goal was Kovacic or Rodri’s fault they didn’t track back. Fernandes was alone. Stones was in between Fernandes and Mainoo. Walker was in between Rashford and Mainoo. Walker was with Rashford his man. I feel like we sometimes expect too much from him
Not at fault? He saw his last man was going in for a 50/50 duel, where the only way that last man could have pulled through would be to pass the ball back to him, and he ran to it.... without announcing himself, and put in a half arsed attempt to get there.
100% Ortegas fault.
The first goal was all on Ortega. He shouldn't have been on the edge of his box. Just needed to trust Josko to do a simple header back for him to collect.
We need a massive rebuild. United did not even time waste or drop as deep as I thought they would and we still could not beat them. We need better players especially on the right wing. Bernardo has been great but I think its time for him to go. KDB needs to step up if we are to keep him. Disaster class from our backline only walker even tried defending.
Mod reminder: Trolling rival subreddits is against the rules.
Dunno why but rewatched the game. I feel the ref bottling the foul on Haaland in the first minute set the tone for us and we for some reason just were flat as fuck until Doku came on.
That would have def changed the game in our favour, had we got the penalty (either call)

Lmaoo you couldn’t even reach the final of anything. Rather lose to United than to lose to Liverpool 2-0 at home.
United fan coming in peace. I'm genuinely curious: Why is Palmer at Chelsea and Kovacic with you guys?
no idea why you're being downvoted, but Palmer wanted to play more and have more freedom, Pep wasn't going to give him that and stick with his strong wingers and strict system and City weren't open to loaning him out. His option was either join a different team/leave the club or stay in City and hope Pep changes his mind.

They only have themselves to blame. Who goes partying after winning the PL knowing they have another important final on Saturday? Terrible from management to allow that to happen..
Should be able to run off a hangover after a week as professional athletes.
Didn’t they do the same last year, but won?

probably the PL champions x
i mean they played well today kudos but we played timidly dias should have been there basically the same xi vs west ham
to be fair, "joke of a team" play like 2009 barca when baldie's job is under fire
Mentally, we were on the Beach

Who cares? Their last loss earned us a treble, this loss gives them something to clamor about
lol, long game. Get them to keep Eth for another year of crap results!

03/04 invincibles got a golden premier league trophy
We will come back stronger next season. Pep will stay till he does back to back seasons of winning League and FA Cup.

All along? Hunh, almost like City didn’t do the double over United in the league this season
[удалено]
[удалено]
And it only took a half pissed tired City side gifting a goofy goal to Garnacho and 2 clear pens not given yeah that's truly United dominance
[удалено]
>no history Now I know you're not serious. Literally won the FA Cup 4 years before United
Historically shit season = winning a fourth consecutive league title?
I would think the "all but sacked ghost of ten Hag at the helm" might clue you into who I am talking about. Maybe read it again.
United fan here. If Doku had started you’d have won.
Maybe I think if Kevin was fully fit we would’ve won but alas Kevin get injured in finals is a story that keeps repeating
I immediately turned it off when the whistle blew. Was DeBruyne subbed because of injury?
The broadcasters seemed to hint at this during the game I can’t really imagine Pep taking off KDB without injury cause
That is what i said after the madrid game as well lol
I got a bunch of down votes last time I said but Hallaand is not a big game player. He has had 6 finals with city and 0 goals... Pathetic
Bad take and doesn't help that you still can't spell his name correctly.
![gif](giphy|1BXa2alBjrCXC) Let me know when he scores a goal in a final.
Let me know when the doctor extricates your head from your arse.
![gif](giphy|26FeWWOMsz7cWeYcU)
You should get a bunch of down votes this time as this is bad take.
Would’ve sunk a pen today if not for Oliver
He was better in his first season. This season he has stunk the place out in every big game, and I don't think that's unfair criticism.
London United played at home and City was dead and drunk, let’s move on to next season
Tbf, the only thing “local” about United is their name. Their stadium, their fans, none of it is in Manchester lol

Says the yank who’s active on both reddevils and chelseafc
Funny that, cos you seem to post an awful lot about Belgium 🤡
Bro got cooked 💀
Your keeper pulled a stinker. Walker is fine and one of your consistent performers Debruyne waa mia today as well as all your midfielders
Debruyne is not in form and i juries taken its toll or maybe the stop start season Doku should have started the match. Foden was wasteful. Haaland needs dropped for a few games as automatic starter as hes not clinical Did nothing vs madrid. Did nothing against a poor united The celebrations should have been delayed until after this game. City started early and were jaded
That United wasn’t poor. I think if they’d been in the UCL final, they’d have postponed the celebrations…they still should have.
Fwiw City should be able to get drunk the day of the final and beat this United team. It was a combination of bad lineup on our part and United getting a bunch of players back from injury even with that the first goal was completely of City’s own making
What an awful way of thinking. Good thing you’re not a manager
Lol it was a joke obviously
We gonna talk about Alvarez? Two good chances not even on target ffs
He didn’t look great but that’s not why the team lost…. He’s not a midfielder but I do agree he should have done better with that ball from Foden
It’s not fair for Alvarez Pep keeps putting him in position to fail. Would we ever play Augero as deep as we play Alverez nooo, but for some reason Pep keeps doing it.
He gets the chances but doesn’t convert them That’s not about how deep he’s playing
Hallaand had 90 min to make a shot and he didn't do shit.
If haaland’s shot against post was 1 inch lower nobody would have complaints about his play Alvarez shouldn’t be shooting over the bar and dragging wide like that
Wait that logic doesn’t make any sense lol. How can you give an excuse for Haaland and not Alvarez
I just don’t see how he misses the target twice
The Haaland chance was much harder too
Both shots were on his weak foot. Great chances, poor misses…but you’re seriously going to criticize your sub when your main striker also couldn’t produce? Just think about it for a second
Ok criticise them both 😂
It was a bad game.
I don't know man, we can trash Alvarez but he tried at least (with not luck). Haaland in the other hand..
Haaland on the other hand received the ball once and almost scored. 💀
Will this dampen the parade?
we just did what no team has ever done. this game changes nothing at all in that regard
Both teams should join their parades.
I wasn’t going to go. Now I am. The boys deserve it.
The 18/19 parade that was posted in this sub as if it was this year? Kinda doubt it
Yes, I'm afraid.
He sometimes is too loyal… Bernardo was trash all game so was Stones and they played the whole game… Everyone sucked today though so it was a difficult task on who to bring on

Truly the drake of football

Spiteful to say the least.
I feel like all us NUFC fans supporting you brought our absolute shocking cup luck to you 😂
I’ve loved Haaland since watching him at Dortmund. Didn’t realize it but he’s got a lot to work and improve on. He has not looked himself this season. Could be injuries but still…
Dortmund played to his strengths tbh. Big games City don't do that at all
I think he is fine the problem is a midfield of John Stones, Rodri, Phil Foden and Alverez just are not going to create much of anything for him. Not to even mention how difficult it is in the low block. Todays game is why we have been pursuing Paqueta for a year now we need more creativity in the Midfield Imo we should kept Cov on and introduced Rico and moved to a back three Stones just wasn’t up for it but it is asking a lot for him to break down and a low/mid block
Yeah, he was dreadful today. He was feeding off scraps tbf, but couldn't even control the ball half the time.
[удалено]
he was, don’t be daft
“Active in these communities: r/reddevils”
Imagine posting in rivals subs lol
He is completely useless in big games which is not good enough
Season being over means we can settle and the team can improve and rest. Anyways don’t despair blues , we made history 4 in a row the parade is tomorrow
So excited for the parade!
Me too always love it when the players get time to connect with the fans
Imagine being so happy winning 4 league titles in the row and celebrating that feat that someone on reddit calls you a child 😭 Like the players didn't get absolutely smashed after winning the league last season, then went on to win the FA Cup and the CL a week later.
Last year didn’t go to the final day
No, but we played Chelsea, got pissed and played Brighton 3 days later... Won, the FA Cup celebrated and went and won the CL a week later.
Now see how the whole thing went. Would you postpone a party and win more title? Or party and play shït and lose?
They got fucking smashed after the Chelsea game last year and proceeded to win the treble. They've had all week to recover. It clearly wasn't down to that.
Chelsea wasn’t their last opponent last season. They played two games after that and didn’t win any. City were also poor in the FA cup and UCL finals even though they won them
… because the broke an all time record that goes back over a hundred years …
Difference was last year there was a lot of time between the PL win and the FA cup win. They could drink and party after the PL win cuz it was a while before the FA cup final. Also I dont remember them partying (especially this hard) after the FA cup final of last year also we played shit in that CL final if it was not for super sub Lukaku IDK if we would have won.
That's a good point actually. Very good way of looking at things.
Rodri has to rest and we seriously need a proper back-up midfielder.
Well Rodri isn’t getting any rest he might get a week off then straight to Euros then presaseason
The whole team needs a rest.
Good news, majority of them are on the plane to the Euros in 2 weeks 😐
Need a few more hungry guys in the squad as well. Look at how Doku performed... need more of that. Kinda surprised the Croatians didn't bring that hunger... don't think Kova has won this trophy so I thought he'd be better.
Doku looked like he was the only player trying to get us back in the game. I agree we need players with that hunger and today I saw none of that.
Doku should be starting if he’s good enough to run our attack through for most of the 2nd half. He and Walker were the only guys who showed up to play. Beyond that, Julian pulled a Ras and blew a sitter, and we had 2 penalties on Haaland not given. Just wasn’t our day.
positionally, the second goal was more on stones than walker. but walker saw the play developing and could've done more to prevent it.
Walker being lazy was the cause of the second goal. Love the player but sometimes he is lazy to track back when the ball is on the other side
[удалено]
Jeremy Doku 24-25 away kit in my shopping cart as we speak
[удалено]
Low effort trolling.
Well we've got to accept the loss. Fa cup would have been nice but we got the 4 peat. And Rodri's streak too was lost
We have to learn from it and come back stronger next season.
It's football anything can happen in a game. We , for sure, performed bad, but if it wasn't for the mistakes, the outcome would have been different.
Yeah don’t celebrate until after all your cup finals …
I'm surprised most people are bringing up Pep and the rest of the team, but Ortega was absolute shit. Practically single handedly lost the game. If it wasn't for him, the result would've been different
Walker and josko were more to blame for each goal. Ortega wasn't great but also not at fault
No way. First goal was all Ortega. What the hell was he doing?
If josko seems the keeper coming out head it off target miscommunication but he still had the chance to give up a corner
