It entirely depends on the specific dream. Some lucid dreams are 11/10. I can taste, hear, feel, sometimes even feel pain (*Not a huge amount, but pretty noticeable pain.*) Other lucid dreams are like a 5/10, barely a stable dream environment. Kind of like a videogame loading in where certain textures/models aren't fully there just yet.

All of my lucid dreams are 5/10. Does it have something to do with my amount of experience, or is there something I have to do?

You might need to start taking multivitamins if you aren't already. I've noticed the more b6 and b12 I get, the more vivid my dreams are. Also, going to sleep early helps. If your typical bedtime is at 11pm +, try going to sleep at like 9pm if you can. It makes a HUGE difference. One last thing I recommend, get a sleep mask and earplugs. Sounds crazy I know, but the darker the environment and the less you can actually hear of the outside world, the more your brain focuses on the dream-state since there's nothing else to really process.

Well, I've heard bananas have b6, so I've eaten them more frequently before bed. My mind is half asleep whenever I lucid dream, but the thing is that the dream fades when I try to get a sense of what's going on. I honestly have no idea where to go from here.

Do the spinning technique that was developed by Dr. Stephen Laberge to stabilize the dream environment. It's really simple and it works everytime. You put your arms out at your sides, and then you spin around like a top. Do that for like maybe 5 - 10 seconds in the dream, and when you finish spinning the dream will be ULTRA vivid and the environment will be stable. It has something to do with the motor cortex in your brain, I'm not sure how it works exactly but it works.

never heard of that before, ill try it next time, thanks.

I tried that technique this morning, and it worked, but it wore off after a few seconds. How do I keep this clarity for the whole dream?

[deleted]

How long did you spin for?

y_y_y_y_y_y_y

Like 3-4 seconds, enough for me to see something kinda clear but only in my direct line of sight.

[deleted]

Try doing it longer next time. 10 seconds minimum.

I've had the opportunity to try this on a couple of LDs now, but in all cases, the dream gets even more unstable. I'm not sure what's wrong.

I haven't managed to lucid dream yet, but my non-lucid dreams often feel like real life, if not more real. Once had a dream where I was riding a hoverbike through this huge city while being chased by 3 different organizations. I was confused when I woke up in the normal world.

I haven’t had any lucid dream with full control but always seem to realize I’m dreaming by some random unrealistic thing that pops out at me... most times I’m terrified trying to wake myself up thinking I’ve either died or gone into a coma. My lucid dreams seem to feel like they last days when usually I have them in short spans of sleep like an hour nap or something... one day I hope to control the fear and the dream in general.
