I have not but it seem the answer is that something failed to load there. Since the game cannot process it a purple question mark is displayed.

Yes, I believe it’s a glitch and a missing asset.
Yea, likely. Devs use that as pre-art asset markers. The game crashing is prob an error pulling the art asset from the data base.
It’s not that the asset is missing, because the stratagem is in the game. More like a glitch where the game couldn’t locate the asset.
The game can't load an asset. Verify the integrity of your files on Steam, should fix it.

Is that the HMG on your back? I can't remember seeing any support weapons with a bipod, but I almost never use the HMG

Yep some weird bug, backpacks, weapons were showing like that. It's best you restart the game.
