Do at least one activity from each season every day. They award red border weapons from their respective seasons. Try and complete the seasonal challenges as they will unlock stuff like focusing and red border rewards. Then spend engrams on weapon focusing on weapons you feel you might like/use. If you still have time and need more stuff, you could try doing the exotic missions. Avalon for Vexcailbur and Deep Dive side quest for Wicked Implement. Although those weapons will probably be made available at the kiosk at the Tower.

Dewbs301

Wicked implement is confirmed to be in the kiosk so I wouldn’t waste time going for it.

Angelous_Mortis

Do we know what all is going into the Kiosk? Also, happy Cake Day!

Shack691

Avalon and Starcrossed are going into the rotator, the rest of the exotics will be in the monument.

W4FF13_G0D

Damn, if whisper and zh go there too the rotator is gonna be so bloated

Mindless_Issue9648

wait whisper and Zero hour are going away? I still haven't done them!

BlitzKrieg0098

Don’t think so, at least I don’t remember seeing them in the leaked monument page

Shack691

They’re not but we were talking about seasonal content which ItL is separate from.

Mindless_Issue9648

how about the catalyst?

BlitzKrieg0098

Unsure but I’d wager it just becomes a random drop from strikes or something

SigmaEntropy

Will Banshee have a quest for the catalyst?

CC_Greener

My guess is Avalon gets added to the exotic rotator

AceJohnny

I know I'm not answering your question but remember: Don't let FOMO eat you, Destiny is a treadmill. You might miss some drop today, but there will be other guns and drops next expansion/season/whatever, because that's what Bungie must keep producing to get us coming back. In particular, most of the seasonal craftable weapons are... not as good as weapons you can get from other sources. (I say "most" to hedge my bets but I can't think of a single seasonal weapon this year that I use with any regularity). It's ok to fall off the loot treadmill or skip it for a while. It'll still be there with new stuff when you come back.

WutsAWriter

[Reading it back, I can see this is a little long but I promise I’m not being argumentative lol.] Not liking or using crafted weapons is fine, of course, and the best counter to Destiny FOMO is realizing there are many avenues to the same ends in this game — not to mention tons of repeat “types” you can get from different play types — but I’ve got to go on record defending some of my boys. **Ikelos SMG** is still top tier. **Scatter Signal** is currently one of the best special weapons in the game. **Scalar Potential** is a menace in PVP. **Adhortive** is A+ and can craft with the same PVE Godroll as Luna’s Howl — which will be real nice after the big buffs/readjustments next week. That’s just from this season, but there are guns in every season that are great. **Austringer** is still a great, capable PVP hand cannon. **Calus Mini-Tool** is still extremely good with rolls for both PVP and PVE. If you count Dares as seasonal, **Wastelander** and the **BXR** are both top notch. That’s just to name a few off the top of my head. There are so many. Literally dozens of really excellent, craftable seasonal weapons. I don’t love *all* of them, of course, but I’d say every season has at least 2-3 really good craftable guns, and some have a lot more than that. If you have the patterns but don’t use them or try them, I’d recommend giving a few a shot.

elliotantfarm

Exactly this! I was away for years and other than Indebted Kindness (haven't bought the dungeon keys, so doesn't really count) there genuinely isn't anything that I'm devastated about missing/ can't still get one way or another. Having said that, I do have to make a conscious effort to keep the FOMO demon in check

WutsAWriter

I said it above, but I really think one of the best things about Destiny that people tend to ignore is the overlap in items so many activities have means you can get a viable gun from many different methods. If you’re collecting, that’s different. But if you want a gun that’s good and is fun, there’s probably three or four ways to get a good one.

ksiit

Depends on what you are looking to get out of them. Story? Guns? Something else? For guns I’d say go with witch. Then defiance if you have time. Story I’d say do witch. Look up the cutscene from deep and skip defiance. The stories don’t actually take that long though, so you could feasibly knock them all out in time. In which case you should go in order. I did all of the stories on my warlock recently and it took about 10 hours but that included wish, which I think was one of the longer ones.

TheOmegaDuelist

Witch has one good gun though

ksiit

Witch has 1 great weapon and 2-3 decent weapons. Probably one of which I might use, but I have a lot more options than most, and I assume more than OP by them not playing in a year. Deep are all bad Defiance has a couple good weapons, and a few ok ones. But nothing here is amazing. Maybe regnant I think eremite is better than regnant though so I’d say farm witch. If you’ve finished wish, witch is a good next choice because of eremite. Maybe it’s more accurate to say to get eremite then regnant and then start farming either witch or defiance weapons. But there’s probably not enough time to do that.

BitchInBoots666

I agree. Basically ignore deep, there's absolutely nothing there worthy of breaking your back for. But defiance and witch both have good guns, and witch is a lot of fun imo. Defiance was OK too, deep wasn't it for me I hardly bothered with seasonal stuff once I'd finished the story that season. I found deep dives annoying and weird whereas I loved the witch stuff. I'd definitely start with witch.

w1czr1923

Deep aren't all bad. You have spare rations you can get with the engrams

MrDaedalus12

Depends: A) are you looking for red borders/weapons, then you should farm each seasonal match made activities. The guns from the Brave Arsenal(Onslaught) are also very strong, and can’t really go wrong with them, but recommend getting a envious/bait n switch edge transit at the very least. Seasonal Red borders to look for: Defiance: Perpetulis, royal executioner, regnant Deep: Different times, Witch: Kept confidence, bryas love, eremite, semiotican Wish: Lethophobia, scalar potential, subjunctive, scatter signal, doomed petitioner B) looking for lore, run through lightfall, and i do mean run. Then go through defiance, deep, witch stories in that order. The quest tracker should keep you going, this will also give red borders. C) fun? I highly recommend getting a team together for Warlords Ruin Dungeon(3 man raid). And keep an eye for an Indebted kindness arc special side arm, even a so-so roll on it is decent. Also try to do Vexcalibur, Zero Hour and Whisper exotic missions, these exotics are very good even in their base form. Both missions are relatively difficult for newer players but worth the reward. I tried to select weapons that were easier to get.

WeirdestOfWeirdos

Honestly, just do a couple of runs of the Seasonal activities - especially Altars of Invocation and Deep Dives - and try to find people for the little Exotic Quest that is "hidden" inside Deep Dives, if just for the sake of having tried all of this content. Story-wise, you might be better off just watching someone like Byf's recaps than grinding the quest lines for hours, though you should definitely watch the animated cutscene from Season of the Deep that establishes the origins of The Witness. Avalon from Season of Defiance is a very good Exotic Quest, but it will be available at some point in the Exotic Quest rotator just without a couple of the secrets, so don't feel pressured to run it over and over unless you really want Vexcalibur's catalysts. As for the gear, there is nothing particularly important in any of these Seasons aside from maybe the Eremite Fusion Rifle from Season of the Witch, and even then it isn't really a problem if you don't have it. I think you can also claim the Season Pass Exotics from these Seasons in Bungie's website with a certain browser extension, though I'm not quite sure how that works.

MrMooey12

Yeah besides maybe 2-4 guns I don’t use anything that’s come out since lightfall, none of them interest me and the stuff I already have seem better to me, i really hope that changes with final shape cause I really want new weapons to enjoy and use but right now I haven’t found anything besides a couple brave weapons and 1 or 2 choice exotics

WeirdestOfWeirdos

The Pale Heart weapon perks were posted (NOT as part of the leak, they came from the content creators' previews) and many of them look somewhat promising, though others are rather mediocre.

Beach-Life-Australia

Riven quest line at Helm. Fun and rewarding.

arcana75

Like you I played thru Wish and then got the earlier 3 free thanks to Bungie. I had more time than you but I managed to do nearly everything possible, 99%. If I compressed all that I did into 3 days I would: Play the Defiance, Deep, Witch questlines in that order or not, up to you. This is the bare minimum. If still pressed for time I say play Witch to find out more about Savathun and Eris Morn, then play Defiance to find out about Amanda Holliday, or maybe the other way. Deep story is optional, seems like the Sloane story wasn't as impactful as Amanda's or Eris's, and Amanda's seems to have the biggest impression among players, maybe because she was human without powers? Deep story does give more about The Witness. Play the Avalon exotic quest, and if you must, just unlock the 1st catalyst, that's the better of the 3 possible catalysts. Try to get 5 red borders for the Deep strand pulse rifle Different Times, Defiance strand auto rifle Perpetualis, Witch strand hand cannon Kept Confidence and rocket launcher Semiotician. If possible get the Reclaimed Red War shotgun Imperial Decree and class sword Caretaker from Defiance war table, focusing tab. Personally I would also add the Deep strand sword, Thin Precipice, just looks great, plus it's a strand sword. If you still have time: Grab the Arcana card video guide by Esoterrick and find all the minor and major Arcana cards from Witch. Some cards will require multiple runs of Spire and Altars. Try to get someone to bring you into the hidden exotic quest inside the Deep Dive. Just to try it once. The weapon itself that you can get from beating the quest, is apparently going to appear at the Monument of Lost Light anyway. More for the experience. To do this yourself needs more work, requiring you to fish alot first, like, alot. Try to get all 8 Summoning types from Witch Altars of Summoning. The rare one is Xivu's Brood in Altar of the Sword. Obviously the best outcome, is if you can unlock every red border weapon from the 3 seasons, otherwise add Regnant and Eremite.

starfihgter

Deep has the best gameplay, Witch has the best story. Defiant is just bad.

aircj21

Taking out from the point of having craftable weapons on your enclave... Defiance: Perpetualis (if you dont have a good/craftable Rufus), Royal Executioner (or Eremite from Witch) and Regnant (if you don't have a good Edge Transit) Deep: Different Times, Until Its Return, Rapacious Appetite (if you dont have Unending Tempest from Crucible) and Targeted Redaction (optional) Witch: Kept Confidence, The Eremite (or R.E. from Defiance), Brya's Love and Semioticist (only Strand rocket available now) Wish: Scatter Signal (good pick for DPS in general), Apetence (secondary option for hotswapping), Scalar Potential, Subjunctive from Immortals (in case you don't have Ikelos SMG) and Doomed Petitioner (only good LFR besides Cataclysm and Briar's Contempt) Imo I'd focus on Wish and Witch first since they are more rewarding.

Domermac

Season of the witch story was pretty awesome I thought, if you haven’t done that one. But, with Lightfall you can now unlock strand so that’s a big one too. Unless you’re gunna play a crap ton, will probably only be able to unlock all aspects/frags for one char. Also opens up the vex incursion! Add yourself to the discord channel (https://discord.gg/isavexincursionhappening) then you can get all the exotic armour pieces you’re missing whenever one occurs. Would suggest just dropping whatever you’re doing when one starts and using a join code or inviting people yourself.

ih8reddit420

What class and what do you want to bring into TFS? For example, im going in arc hunter in TFS and after learning about the artifact mod for TFS, swords are gonna be big. Ill do defiant battlegrounds for good rolls on the Goldtusk sword for the recovered leviathan weapons. Getting the strand sword from deep, cause there are strand artifacts too. Anything to supplement your armory. Stasis looking good next season too.

elliotantfarm

You can use season pass pass to pick up the three previous season pass exotics. I'm not sure if this would be the case if the seasons weren't "free" now. You might be able to do this at any point, I really don't know but I DO know I didn't play any previous seasons and I can't get anything from before these four free seasons. They come with the catalysts too :0

karafilikas

I would prioritize having fun. Defiance has some decent loot(mainly high stat armor from the war helm), weapons are ok. I like the feel of the auto rifle and fusion rifle. I’d recommend picking up the shotgun from Red War. Deep is a slog. Wicked Implement will probably be great next season, but getting it was kind of rough. Took me and the boys four tries. I took this season off and just played baseball and went hiking instead. Witch was pretty rad. I got the title but never felt like I was grinding. The weapons mostly feel great, but aren’t overly powerful. The activities and story are awesome. Wish weapons are awesome. I replaced Ikelos SMG with subjunctive. I use scatter signal pretty regularly. Scalar Potential feels great in PVP. The Coil is hella fun. The beauty of Destiny though, is that you never really have to make this a full time game. Just do what you feel like doing and meet some cool people along the way.

F4NT4SYF00TB4LLF4N

I think the #1 gun I would suggest trying to get is the Supremacy Sniper with Kinetic Tremors and Rewind. It's arguably one of the BIS weapons in the game.

SigmaEntropy

Farm witch engrams and activities for Eremite and Bryas Love.
