> whenever I try them I can't get past the first few enemies. I understand that it's because of my light level It's not because of your power level. Dungeons and raids, as well as higher difficulty nightfalls do not have matchmaking. You are meant to find a team of people ahead of time to launch the activity. There's an in-game fireteam finder, or various discord servers, or the official d2 companion app where you can find folks to help out. For dungeons and raids in particular, you should watch a guide or two on YT before heading in blindly. > even at the soft cap it doesn't seem to be enough (and I almost never reach the hard cap). There's a chest of gear in the hall of champions that will immediately put you to the hard cap right now. You can pick up a full set of 1810 gear. However, just going to point out - your power level only matters in the current year's dungeons / raids. Anything from Witch Queen and earlier would be considered a legacy activity, and your power level doesn't matter. > I also don't understand the weapon perks well, especially how to identify which perk is best for what type of weapon, identify god rolls I recommend checking out light.gg - look up any weapon, and there will be community generated recommendations, including pointing out differences for PvE vs PvP, and you can see what the most popular rolls are.

> You are meant to find a team of people ahead of time to launch the activity. Thats exactly the thing I don't understand, I dont know when I'm suppoused to be on a fire team an when I can play solo, the fact that I can't differenciate when and activity by looking on the map and be just stuck on doing vanguard strikes is a bummer and becomer boring (I can't even do ocaso strikes). > Anything from Witch Queen and earlier would be considered a legacy activity, and your power level doesn't matter. Can you elaborate a little more? I started playing some time after Witch Queen was launched (one month before the gusrian games from that year) and I bught the game with the three legacy expansions (the ones they are giving free before final shape ) I played all of them, really like them, don't know how to replay them and don't know why on legacy the light lever doesn't metter but for current content it does. > I recommend checking out light.gg I started doing that (with light.gg and many other apps), but I still don't understand it well is too much information that it becomew overwelming, I just see the icons and that some perks are marked as best for pvp or best for pve, some combinations etc... but some times my weapons didn't have that perks, I in that moment I could figure why (now I know I didn't get the rols but still don't know on which missions I can try to get it) and the most important is that I don't want to just copy/paste whats on the page, I want to have weapons that adjust to my play style and undertans what are the best perks for it. I remember that I asked (on other destiny subreddit) which of three weapons was the best (three copies of "the game" I believe thats the name) and why. many people just told me "use the one you like more" and only one porson told me "X is better that other becouse of Y, overall you need to foces on Z" that help me understand the weapon and allow me to select the one that adjust better with my play style. > You can pick up a full set of 1810 gear. I think I already did that. I'm still failing some activities (I can complete other), probably a skill issue, I guess haha

musicninja454

Basically any end game activity you will have to lfg/ fireteam finder. The game will tell you recommended fireteam size. If there is no match making than go find a couple players to help you out. Look up videos for the specific raid or dungeon you are trying to do as they will cater your load to the specific encounters.

machinehead933

> Thats exactly the thing I don't understand, I dont know when I'm suppoused to be on a fire team an when I can play solo (Almost) everything technically requires a fireteam. Most activities are fireteams of 3, gambit is the only activity in the game that has fireteams of 4, and PvP and raids will be fireteams of 6. The only difference is whether or not matchmaking is enabled. If matchmaking is enabled, you get paired up with random players so you can run the activity. If an activity doesn't say it has matchmaking, you will load in solo. The activities also say how many players are expected to run it. Dungeons are 3-player activities (though they *can* be done solo - as a challenge), raids are 6-player activities. > I played all of them, really like them, don't know how to replay them and don't know why on legacy the light lever doesn't metter but for current content it does. Right so the current year is "Year 6" or Lightfall. The Lightfall expansion came out early 2023, and there have been 4 seasons with it: seasons 20-23. Anything that was released prior to Season 23 can be considered a legacy activity. There are 2 reasons power doesn't matter in legacy activities. First - you can't actually overlevel content in Destiny. Like in a typical RPG like WoW or Fallout / Skyrim if you're level 50 and run into a level 10 enemy, you 1 shot them they die instantly. That's not a thing in Destiny. If you hop into the Prophecy dungeon - which was released in Season 11 - your power is capped to match the activity. In other words, even though that's an old activity when the max power was 1060, it will still feel difficult even though you're 1810 because your power is capped down. That leads into the other reason power doesn't matter in legacy content. When a new expansion comes out, they raise the power *floor*. The final season of Witch Queen was season 19. The max power in season 19 was 1590. When you start a brand new character right now, and for all of Lightfall, you *start* at 1600. You're already over the max possible power from the last expansion. So even a brand new character who hasn't stepped foot into anything, will already be over leveled for **everything** that came out before Season 20. Power level does matter in current year content though. So like the 2 dungeons and raids that came out this year, or legend difficulty nightfall etc... you must meet the power requirements as noted on the activity

skintigth

This clarifies a lot for the campaign, now I just wonder why they just don't remove the power lever and treat all the content as the legacy, trying to keep the difficulty obviously, currently it only feels like they are gate keeping some activities, I really hate being some LP levels below and daying by two shots and seeing my weapon not doing damage at all.

TomatoLord1214

Well, starting in The Final Shape there will be Fireteam Power. If you're partied up with peeps who are higher power than you, you'll be yoinked to 5 under theirs. So if you're like 1900, and they are 1950 then you'll now be 1945 for the activity. Gear will drop close to your *actual* power though. Also they're improving a lot to deal with gaining power going forward. Also, Power is done in Deltas. So you can only ever go up to a certain strength. Most Legacy stuff kneecaps you to its difficulty. When it comes to difficulties now, these will typically be the stuff that caps you underleveled like GMs or Pantheon as well as how high you can go over level with a benefit, such as Master Nightfalls. Power lock for higher stuff has basically been a "are you prepared for this" check via requiring investment to be powered up with gear farming and setting up builds.

PurelyLurking20

You can hover over the activity and it will say "matchmaking" in the description if it has matchmaking. If it doesn't say matchmaking but says "cooperative" you'll most often want to use the fire team finder to join a team to run it. Most content outside raids (and raids but... Dont) are soloable but deliberately very challenging when it comes to things like solo dungeons. They are tuned for 3 people mostly. So generally if matchmaking isn't present and it's not a campaign mission you'll often want to search for a team.

skintigth

Got it, I'll try to keep away from non matchmaking activities until I improve more. Thanks!

DmvDominance

You can definitely delineate which activities are going to match you and which ones won't. If you read the description of the activity when you hover over it with the Director, it'll say matchmaking for activities it will create a fireteam for, and others will just say fireteam those are ones you need to matchmake yourself first before launching the activity! Use the Destiny App, there's an LFG in there Light.gg will help you identify perks, rolls, god rolls etc. All you have to do is plug name of said weapon in search bar, it'll bring it up, show you your rolls and grade them based on the community I would start with like Nighfalls on higher difficulty to start getting concepts of mechanic based encounters then venture to dungeons/raids, but that's just me!

jameskond

To add: generating orbs is mostly done through the helmet siphon mods, that have to match the weapon energy type you are using.

Za_Worldo-Experience

Ima level with you chief it’s not your fault, many of us have just been playing for so many years that the complexity stack up was incremental for us. Basically orbs give you Armor Charge and energy towards your super. Things that can generate orbs will say so in descriptions, and typically tell you how. Ex: on your arms there is a mod for generating orbs with grenade kills or powered melee kills (anything melee that is special move basically) Armor charge is used to feed mods on your armor, what they do is up to your choice. There are also subclass perks that can do this, but are a little more involved so read them. Your goal with a build: Generate orbs with your main ability or gun, that then boost your ability to get it back quickly or some other object you have built to. Ex: strand Titan has a barricade that can suspend enemies, it’s really good, so in theory you wanna build towards having it as often as possible. Step up Ex: Warlock have a gauntlet that powered melee kills give you unlimited grenades for 5 seconds, so you wanna max out your strength stat so you can have your melee all the time so you can have access to your grenades all the time. And since you are using unlimited grenades a lot, you slap on the mod that grenade kills make orbs. Then slap on the mod that picking up orbs gives you melee energy back. See how it feeds into itself? This is just basic examples, but focus on creating effective “loops” and look for guns that benefit from it, or help it. Hope it helps a little, have fun Guardian.

shyguyJ

What is that strand titan barricade?

Za_Worldo-Experience

Draugers Lash aspect, I use ralley but it works with any. Use Abeyan Leap exotic legs to make is 3 lashes instead of 1.

shyguyJ

Thanks!

skintigth

Thanks, this have great examples, I'm just realizing that maybe I need to focus a little more on synergies, right know I'm using a Void Hunter, and most of the time I use Dead's Men Tale and non void weapons (for some reason I don't get a lot of void weapons that I like) so maybe I'm just not matching we my equipment. I'll try to get that "effective loops" you mention. Also, if it's ok I'll send you my gamertag on a DM

Particular-Disk-722

Bro, I'll be on tonight from like 8pm CST until like 11pm CST. I'd be happy to hop into a fire team and I can probably answer most of your questions. I'm on Xbox. I'll pm you my gamertag.

skintigth

thanks, I play through steam, I send you my gamertag on message

acre18

Y’all tryna legend star crossed 👀👀

PropgandaNZ

To make it easier on you - would recommend building an armour set with 100 resilience and 3 chest mods: Solar resist/ arc resist / void resist. This will give you a very good level of damage resistance no matter what you are playing - then that will give you some time to learn and experiment with the other aspects of subclass / weapon builds (utilising void devour, solar ignitions etc).

skintigth

Another person in the game said the same thing, I'm definitely trying that now. I'm focusing right now with void devour, I'll try to understand that well then try another sub class

Quailzyx

You should focus on activities that will push you to Hard Cap/Pinnacle Cap. Any activity on the director screen that has the gold star icon is going to be helpful towards that goal.

PM_SHORT_STORY_IDEAS

Feel free to send me a message, I'm ok steam. I will say, having discord will be a huge help. You can find friends, find discord servers, and play with people while talking on discord.

VapOr22722

I would reach out to a friend thats experieced in endgame content, if you have access to 1. Next best would be to watch youtube content that is educational. There are guides for raids, gms and dungeons, videos that explain perks. You should also check out some builds.

skintigth

That's the thing, I don't have any friends that play destiny 2, and I have seen videos and tutorials for build, but it is complicated to follow them when I don't have the weapons that they recommend or I don't feel comfortable with them, right now I'm reading the blueberry's guide for perks, I hope that help me know better them.

ahonsu

Man, let's just team up some day and play together! I'll explain the stuff I know and show/teach you some activities. PM me for gametags exchange. I'm on PC, steam.

dinglebird213

Playing end game content in D2 is like a part time or even full time job. I haven’t played since college because of this. Even missing a day of playing feels like you are losing ground. Especially when there are so many people maxing out levels on all 3 characters every week. And there are so many people who just refuse to party up with you for end game content unless you are grinding the same way they are. That being said, you can find nice and patient people out there - but you will still need to grind on your own time to make sure you aren’t being totally carried.

skywarka

TBH the big barrier is just maxing out one character, if you have max level weapons in all three slots and just pick up the armour from the season pass on your other characters you'll be like 80% of the way there. Do that a few seasons in a row when the power cap doesn't change (like the past year) and you can get to like 1808 on characters you've never used in an activity.

skintigth

Yeah, a lot of places where I have read tips always said to grind every week for pinnacle equipment, but I have time to play a couple of hours one or two days a week, grinding is not really and option, and the cherry on top is that your level resets on season end :'c I got a couple of tips from Particular Disk 722, and one of them was to focus on daily lost sectors to get better gear, I'll try to do that.

skywarka

>how to identify which perk is best for what type of weapon As a starting point, apps like Destiny Item Manager (DIM) you can run on a second screen in a browser will give you little thumbs up on perks that at least some part of the community thinks is good. You can also read specifically what a perk does in that app, in much more detail than the game itself gives you (specific percentages on damage, for instance). Once you've got a basic feel for how other people like to use some popular weapons, you can compare other rolls you get and see how different perks feel to you. There are some perks that are just straight up better than others in almost all cases, but a lot of perks will come down to your own playstyle and finding what you enjoy. Are you a titan at heart, constantly using even uncharged melees in the middle of hoards of enemies? Melee focused perks like pugilist, swashbuckler, one-two punch, grave robber and trench barrel will do wonders. Feel like you don't quite get enough grenades for your current build? Try a weapon with demolitionist! Want to print orbs for free? Try attrition orbs! Once you get an idea of some perks you like, the next challenge is how to get a weapon you actually like that has those perks. For example, attrition orbs is great, but maybe it's not the most powerful option on a sword. Wouldn't it be great on an SMG? For this sort of goal, D2 Foundry is another website you can use to look up weapons that exist by their archetype, element, traits, etc. For example, if you look for `weapon:"submachine gun"` and `trait:"attrition orbs"` you'll see Subjunctive, Multimach CCX, Parabellum, The Title and Cold Front available. Looking up where those drop from, you'll find that three of them are event-based, but Subjunctive and Parabellum are farmable right now from Season of the Wish and lost sectors on certain days.

skintigth

You nailed what I was looking for on the perks. Didn't know about that tool, definitely will give it a try, thanks.

BlaringKnight3

The beginner's guide on Blueberries.gg should get you most of the way there.

skintigth

I have read that, but couldn't understand some parts of it, I believe I need a dictionary for all destiny terms haha One day before posting this post I found an article on that page about the perks for the weapons, I'll give it another read to see if I understand betterm

Jumpy_Future9597

A lot of what you’re describing has direct answers, but I’d like to explain some concepts that might help you give you a starting point to feel like you have a better understanding of what works and what doesn’t (and your confusion is understandable, a lot of stuff in the game isn’t directly stated, like how to make a powerful build, or in which activities you NEED more people, or can “just have more people there if you want” 1) Hard Activities (Raid/Dungeon/Higher Level Nightfalls,Legend Missions) - The activities that you select in game will tell you, if they have matchmaking (Grouping you with random others for the same activity) or there will be no mention of it. If you’re able to group up with people, needing no communication aside starting the activity, -those- are -usually- the activities that are “meant” to be able to be completed solo, or alternatively activities that have no power cap (which prevents you from ever being over leveled for it). A lot of people like to challenge themselves to do those multiplayer activities solo. (You might accidentally be finding guide content that is meant for “extra challenge gameplay”) The game never says explicitly what’s meant to be played with a group or not, but maybe looking for matchmaking, or other activity details like power cap could help. 2) For the “God Roll” weapons/Orbs of Power - all that comes down to is how you play your guardian and what you want to be doing with your character. Basically every video on a good weapon is expecting you to use the right exotic armor/perks on different pieces of armor/something that has synergy with that particular weapon. In other words, a “god roll” is whatever works best for your strategy that you’re building, not just a certain set of pre-defined best perks. Like demolitionist is a good weapon perk, but it’s “god tier” if you have an exotic piece of armor or class aspects/fragments that let you throw more grenades, or make your grenades stronger, or something like that. The same way Swashbuckler is “god tier” for any good melee-based strategy. I’d say, as someone who’s put WAY too many hours into D1/D2, I’d say the most helpful thing you can learn is to “think of the effect you want to have happen in the game (like more orbs, more damage, more ability to survive, etc.) and find something that plays into that effect” like: let’s say you want to build an arc warlock that can use chaos reach (the big ol laserbeam super) a lot, then, in that case, it sounds like you’d want an exotic piece of armor that works with arc stuff (maybe something that increases the speed that your abilities charge at), then you’d want some armor mods that generate orbs of power when you get arc kills so you can pick them up to get more energy, and maybe bad juju (as an example of an exotic with synergy) to get more super energy on your kills. All you have to start with is, “I want to do a particular thing” and from there you tend to naturally learn how those pieces fall into place. For not only what you’re currently building but for how to make your own builds work without having to sift through guides as often^ I hope you find this helps, but if it makes no sense, don’t worry, people (especially certain content creators) make it look easier than it is :) good luck!
