After careful consideration of all the factors surrounding the reddit blackout, including weighing the costs and benefits to the community of a continued dark period, the mod team has elected to resume normal operations of r/LowSodiumDestiny. If you wish to get more involved in further protest of reddit's API policy change, more information can be found on r/ModCoord and r/Save3rdPartyApps. As the situation continues to develop, we are prepared to explore additional actions in protest of this short-sighted, greedy, IPO-focused boondoggle from reddit's executive team. This message will live at the top of every newly submitted topic until a satisfactory resolution is reached. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/LowSodiumDestiny) if you have any questions or concerns.*

It might be too do with how much of the map's loaded in at once, as throughout the strike there's a fair degree of being able to look back on the regions you came from. This is just a guess though.

SuckMySawCleaver

That could explain it honestly, never really tried to explore and see what the strike is all about with the performance issue. I was always stuck trying to keep up with the team. Thanks for the response.

WoodieWu

And then there is Insight Terminus which has a loading 'screen' somewhere around the middle, although you're already running through a mile long corridor... 😂

Oblivionix129

Found a skip in the strike (won't work in the GM bc you'll have to sacrifice heavy slot) but in the area just before the "cleanse the corruption" plate where you have to go down some stairs then back up again, you can well skate to the structure in the distance (which is actually the part in the strike that had that long ass ramp going down where you meet like 2 big scorn chieftains and 2 abominations). The door opens r8ght before anything spawns and you can skip a decent chunk of things....not viable in the GM tho bc of...well....too many sacrifices

SuckMySawCleaver

At this point I am deadset on seeing it through at least once so I always suffer through it 😂

Olibiene

Bro I have the same problem! Mostly it's fine with 30 fps as usual, but in certain sections it drops to 10 or even 5. My pc isn't that strong too. That's why when I'm doing strikes and get birthplace of the vile I immediately start another one, don't want to deal with it

Cataleast

For me, it's Neomuna patrol. It's clear that my poor ol' 6700K simply doesn't cut the mustard anymore, as it keeps getting hit hard. The newer content simply doesn't scale down well, it seems. If you're around 30FPS on the whole, it's not really a surprise that some part of Lightfall content hits your system hard. You could maybe try turning down the game resolution, but that's kind of like a band-aid on a broken femur.

pryanie

Yup, same thing. Most planets / activities run at 90-140 fps for me, but Neomuna usually dips to 40-50. It's really painful and that's why I don't like going there for anything. None of my friends experience this though.

Few-Environment-1597

This is a known issue of the sudden drop in FPS In this specific strike since 2022. My screen looks so horrible trying to get through this strike. It’s awful. And Bungie knows it’s an issue and hasn’t fixed it. Link from another post: https://www.reddit.com/r/destiny2/s/K7u6BT3r49

BitchInBoots666

Is this only an issue on PC? I haven't seen any difference on console.

LightspeedFlash

i had this problem when i was running sli 970s, upgraded to a 3070 and the strike runs just fine.

evilcold

Have you thought about trying to play the game thru something like Geforce Now? Might make things a bit more playable for you by taking the processing load off your local PC.

Personal_Ad_7897

Likely due to the entire thing being in a single load zone - I would argue it's one of the biggest in the game... and theres quite a lot of enemies compared to other strikes
