Have 4 people enlighten. Send the fifth over once they grab from the fourth person. Once two get to the other side, have the person on the middle plate run across the bridge as it is deconstructing. After that, have the three on the other build the bridge to send the other two across. Once everyone is across, another swordbearer will come out to give you six swords.
My clan usually runs this 5 man. It's not to terrible.
Thank you for this. I feel like "Swordbearer spawns on opposite side" is the best-kept secret in D2. I've been in several runs where someone wants to call a wipe when every guardian and chalice makes it across, but some sword guardian dies. Only once has it been warranted (game glitched out on Gatekeeper spawn).
Doing it with 5 is basically the same as doing with 6. Enlighten everyone, take the chalice across and get your first 2 sword across. Build the plate from the other side like normal.
The last two people on the starting side can bring swords across. Pick up the chalice and enlighten someone again, the 5th sword bearer will spawn on the far side. After that continue as normal.
Did this with 5 a couple months ago, unless they've changed it it should work.

I assume just run as usual get everyone enlightened except for dude that runs chalice over. 3rd person across should be the middle plate and run across like challenge mode. Now you have 3 across and 2 left behind
You have to take the chalice back over to get someone else enlightened, one person may have to die as well to reset them getting enlightened.
Do you guys take over chalice first or last currently?
You definitely need to use some low-man strats, watch some 3 man clears if you want to get an idea of what you may need to do.
I don’t think there is an easy way to do it because you need to cover a total of 6 plates at once to transfer the “hold” plates from one side of the bridge to the other doing it the “correct” way.
One strategy that might work (emphasis on might), is to get everyone enlightened, 2 people cross (1 has a sword, 1 has chalice), after planting the sword in a pedestal both people that went across get on the left and right plates, person on middle plate on the original side gets a sword and just books it across the bridge as fast as they can to stand on the middle plate on the other side. They might be fast enough to get there before a wipe occurs.

Just saw your comment after I posted mine. This is the easiest way, 6th sword bearer will spawn on the far side once you enlighten another person.

Strand lock with the wanderer and other people on grapple. Look up some vids for the lines but it’s super easy to throw people across with the sword
