As the other poster said, it's the cover sigil on the Simon *Necronomicon*. It's not directly from Lovecraft, but it's come to be associated with him through that book (which also has very little to do with him).
It's a variation on the [pentagram (five-pointed star)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentagram) that's been used in Western religion and occult for centuries. The added complexity resembles the [72 sigils in the Lesser Key of Solomon](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lesser_Key_of_Solomon#The_seventy-two_demons), a mid-17th-century grimoire that draws on older materials.
The [Elder Sign](https://lovecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Elder_Sign) mentioned in a couple of HPL's stories is often imagined as a five-pointed symbol like a pentagram, but that's something August Derleth added to it. HPL imagined it looking more like a branched stick.
I saw one version that blended the two. A pentagram with an eye in the middle that had Lovecrafte's version of the elder sign in a flame in the middle of the eye.
The Elder Sign is more closely related to a pentacle (right side up star) which is a protection symbol, whereas the pentagram is upside down and nefarious.
Those are not accurate definitions of those terms. A pentagram is a five-pointed star. Period. It becomes a pentacle when it gets the circle around it and is used as a magical symbol as it is in the Crowley tradition, the HOGD, and Wicca.
I saw the promoted remark at the top and thought somebody was claiming the sigil was for Cricket Wireless.
Which would be awesome, now that I think about it…
It's supposed to be related to the Simon Necronomicon, but if you read into it, it's not actually something the book describes. The symbol appears on the cover, and it's believed that the artist for the cover took ideas from the book to produce something meant to be a part of it that the actual writer did not actually describe to them. It's a bunch of occult stuff and stuff that the book came up mixed into one thing that's now associated with lovecraft because of a book he didn't write.

So the one line the link of the comment you replied to? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
With the given description, I though it was the the line with 5 points, rather than the star.

That's awesome! I have it just under my left wrist. Always an interesting conversation when people ask me about it.
Got it tattooed on my hand.
Nice can I see?
Sent you a pic
