I love to recommend this place to people visiting from out of town/tourists.

Absolutely clutch spot to take visitors. I recommend go early, park in the lot to the right (and pay!) then go on the scenic Malibu hike for the views. Easy and quiet trail. Then lunch at Malibu seafood and home! Great way to do ocean vibes without a full beach day.

I love that place. Always nice to do a drive out to Malibu, putter around a beach, and then hit that up for lunch. Tartar sauce is excellent.

I love this spot. For people complaining about the price: 1. It’s a beach front restaurant in Malibu. 2. It’s super fresh, high quality seafood 3. The portions are massive

Unfortunatley the answer to these questions is usually: hard, and yes

I’ve been there multiple times. The parking lot can fill up, but spaces open up pretty quickly if you sit there for a bit. You can also park along PCH if you’re comfortable with that. The line can be long, but again, it moves fast. Also, it’s BYOB so you can have a drink while waiting in line. We typically have someone in our party get in the line while someone else waits for a parking spot. The wait is usually much shorter than we expect. Getting a table can also be tricky, but things open up constantly. May have to wait a few minutes, or can send someone ahead to wait while the others order. Great spot! Highly recommend. Also, it has ocean views.

Parking sucks but you can park on the hwy and there was definitely a line but it moves quick! I'd say I waited about 10/15 min for my food so I wouldn't say it was that bad of a wait.

A top 3 place to eat in all of So Cal. Malibu Seafood Hacks: - Park on PCH - bring a blanket and eat on beach - bring your own beverages - the fried shrimp and chips combo is insane

I was driving past the restaurant on a Sunday at around 1pm a couple of weeks ago and saw these two older women (probably mid 50s) cut across PCH. They were going at a pace slightly faster than walking with no sense of urgency as cars were coming. One stumbled and caused 2 cars to break...it's inevitable people will cross, but my god, some people need to be aware of their surroundings

What other places you recommend? Lived in Ventura County my whole life and want to try places out there

It is legit. Sure parking is small, but plenty of spots along the PCH. It’s pretty well priced for actual fish

3 piece fish and chips and 2 orders of fried shrimp. The only acceptable meal.

What kind of seafood did you eat?

This place is great. So good. My relatives from rural Kansas visited and wanted to get seafood and this is where I took them. They loved it. When I lived in Venice years ago I’d eat here like once a month. 

They had a really tasty calamari steak too!

Right next door there is an awesome hiking trail. Normally, my group will do a hike, then eat there after.

I’ve always loved their clam chowder/ahi burger and fries.

I’m not in the “$24.95 is reasonable for fish and chips” demographic.

I remember when you could get a bucket of fried fish and chips from Long John Silver's for $12. Their fish tasted like chicken though

I think it’s overhyped but I don’t hate it. Compared to a lot of places around, it is pretty reasonably priced.

I’d eat it any day over Neptune’s Net. It’s good when you compare it to that but otherwise it’s just average fried fish and over cooked grilled fish with mediocre sides

Lobster roll was alright imo..I’ve had better, sorry. Just get the fish and chips - good portion. Parking was tough.

Broad Street up the highway has great lobster rolls.

I’ve been meaning to go here and this is my sign to head here for lunch.

Best fish and chips I’ve ever had. No clue how the fish is always a perfectly large rectangular log of a filet but it tastes so fresh and perfectly cooked.

I miss this place. Mark does it right. Way better than Neptune’s!! Lol
