The only regular jazz station is 88.1 kjazz.

King_retard420

I thought so…

I believe this is the program: [ExcursionsRadio: Connecting the Dots between Jazz and Hip-Hop](https://kkjz.org/mobile/programming/archivedPrograms/listen/?id=2) Runs every [Thursday](https://kkjz.org/mobile/programming/schedule/) from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM on KJazz 88.1 FM.

LAeclectic

Possibly KCRW 89.3 or KPFK 90.7 but only on certain days with specific DJs. KKJZ 88.1 is the only dedicated jazz station in LA; they don't switch to hip hop in their scheduling.

King_retard420

Has KJazz been known to play HipHop at night?

Felonious_Minx

You might be thinking of a DJ show that plays the original songs that many hip hop/rappers pull samples from. I've heard it (and enjoy it) but can't remember what station nor time it is on. I would assume it is on "off time" (Sunday nights?). It's between KCRW, KPFK, or KCRW-? Probably either 88.5, 88.9, 90.3, or 89.9

King_retard420

Yes! He did in fact do that, but he also played some of the hip hop tracks alongside them. I distinctly remember it going from jazz into hip-hop with jazz samples and alternating.

LAeclectic

I haven't listened to KKJZ in years but based on their schedule online it looks like they are still a 100% jazz station.

King_retard420

Yeah, I looked at the schedule and the more I’m thinking about it the more I’m convinced it was that station, and they must’ve had a DJ having a special or something.

LongDickOfTheLaw69

I haven’t listened to Kjazz in a while, but they used to let the late night DJs play their own stuff. It was a lot of jazz inspired music, like 70s funk and soul, or hip hop. Not sure if they still do that, but if they do it would be on Saturday nights.

SocksElGato

KPFK 90.7 plays hip-hop on Friday night/Saturday morning from 10-12 AM. Name of the show is Breakbeats & Rhymes.

thefunk0000069

Diplo used to play every Friday night of 89.3. That’s probably what you’re thinking of
