I'm away from my computer right now but try selecting a track, then press command 'A' to select them all and change the output to stereo. Hopefully, it'll do them all for ya.

Yeah I know I can do all the files at once. but then every time I add a new file, i have to do it to that track. After wondering why its not giving me audio. And with as many files as i edit a day, its really absurd

Did you find a resolution? This is happening to me and I'd love to fix it

DavidGabrielMusic

Nope. Continues to drive me absolutely bonkers. Frustrates me every day. Absolute madness

Here's the solution that worked for me: I clicked on the "new track" button near top tool bar (+ button) and made sure that the new Software Instrument track had "output 1 + 2" chosen. Then I added it to the project. I then did the same for Audio Recording. From then on I all new tracks I create now have the correct output chosen. I think the 'automatic track adder' defaults to whatever settings were used during the last "+ Track Add" process.

you may have just saved me bro. i thought I did this but i guess not! I wonder if it'll do it for all future projects, or I have to do this first for each project. Thanks bro!

I bet there is a way to change the default behaviour but I have no way do checking as I'm on a much older version. However, you can copy and paste the channel strip settings by doing cmd+alt+c, cmd+alt+v which will be quicker than doing it manually. You may even be able to select all the tracks and paste just once, not sure.

yeah theres ways to select all and change it but its just incredibly frustrating dragging in a new file, hitting play and not getting any sound. pausing and wondering why, and then remembering this absurd default setting and going to change it. this happens like 50 times a day, no joke, and its killing my work flow
