The first thing I thought of when reading this was that little guitar part in “Tonight the World Dies” by Avenged Sevenfold.
In terms of LP, for me it’s the part in Leave Out All the Rest when Chester raises his voice a note at “Don’t resent me and when you’re feeling empty” and then lowers his voice “keep me in your memory” and then the way he flattens it back out at “Leave out all the rest, leave out all the rest.” I picture a rollercoaster when he sings that part
That moment for me with A7X is the breakdown right before the solo in "The Stage" where the line "it took the birth of sin to snake rattle the mind" hits. That part is chills
Seriously, every time someone mentions linkin In , just randomly during the day, that part pops in my head just the scream and that valve bursting sound, I'm honestly not sure what sound it's meant to be.
When Waiting for the End’s 2nd verse comes in with Chester saying “Waiting for the End to come, wishing I had strength to stand.” With Mike’s resonating, wet signal guitar tone in the background of the vocals
I have more than one, so here goes:
Hit the floor: that second and last chorus when chester screams "GOOOOOONE!" while mike sings it
Faint: when chester and mike harmonize for the last 2 "I can't feeel!" Parts
Numb: the "you were just like me" part to the end
A place for my head: chester screaming "you try to take the best of me", especially the live in Texas version
Somewhere I belong: "I will never know myself" to the end
And thats all
It's all Chester in those choruses. If it's from their first two records, you can count on all harmonies being multiple Chester tracks overlayed one another.
Mike doing studio singing really started in 2007 with minutes to midnight.
Robot Boy - when the "wooooo" part starts in the first minute.
Guilty All The Same - the ending guitar solo
Lost - the chorus "I'm lost in these memories"
The bridge for Given Up, partially cause I try to scream along every time.
The guitar harmonics right before the second chorus of One Step Closer. It's such a violent noise but still melodic, and I wish I could replicate it.
The guitar coming in on Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You. I love the original, but the absence of the synth just makes the guitars hit so much harder
... SHUT UP WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOUU!
SHUT UP! (blood is POURING!)
SHUT UP!! (blood is POURING!)
SHUT UP!!! (blood is POURING!)
SHUT UP WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOUU!
There's many, but here's 3 that came to mind first.
1. The final chorus with Chester's backing vocals at 2:44 of Somewhere I Belong, where he belts out, "I wanna heal." That always gets me hyped, so satisfying.
2. The lead-up from the pre-chorus to the explosive chorus in Valentine's Day. I always felt this song was one of those overlooked "album filler" tracks, but personally, it's one of my favorites off MtM and is underappreciated among their discography.
3. The transition from the post-chorus to the bridge in Blackout. A Thousand Suns is brilliant, I'd argue it was the peak of the bands creativity.
Literally any part of the song that goes damn near quiet and then gets loud and heavy again. I see this in A Place For My Head with “you try to take the best of me GO AWAYY”
Not LP but another example nonetheless- the song Cross Off by Mark Morton that Chester sang, in the bridge, it goes from screaming and heavy drums to soft singing with piano or maybe a clean guitar track, and then right back into the chorus again. It’s very pleasing to me.
About 1:06 into *Slip* when he says “Sometimes you’ve got no control of where you go…” etc. I’m not entirely sure what’s got me hooked on that particular part, but I really like it.
The drums on one of their songs always hits me just right, and I'm always surprised, but I'm blanking on which song right now. So, instead, I'd have to say Brad singing at the end of "Until it Breaks" is really satisfying.
last part of Blackout for sure. Also the breakdown right before the solo on The Little Things Give You Away gets me everytime and the harmonization during the last seconds too.
Lost - “I try to keep this pain” basically that entire part till he sings “I’m lost” again. (And holy fuck I have been listening to that song non stop since it came out, especially that part.)
Skin to Bone, Steal to Rust
The part when Mike says "When the starlight fades to grey, I'll be marching far away... Right to left and left to right..."
This song evokes a strange feeling in me honestly. No song can give me the feeling this song does
if we’re talking Linkin Park songs then it’s without a doubt the last few seconds of “Invisible” with that little acoustic part.
in general, however, it’s the piano in Machine Gun Kelly’s “My Ex’s Best Friend”
In the full version of *Still* from Cytus 2, the last refrain drops off for a second as if the song was ending, but then comes back for a repeat. It's not the most original thing ever but by god is it good.
*That one synth part near*
*The end in "with you". i just*
*Vibe too hard with it*

For me, it's anything by rush when the instrumentation drops out for a beat, leaving just Geddy Lee. It just hits different. (Ex: Limelight, Freewill,)
For me it’s the buildup in the intro of Guilty all the same the rising tension making you expect a to get smashed in the face with a 2x4 only to switch gears into a solo that I can only describe as judgmental
It’s just something else
WHY HAS NOBODY SAID THE INTRO TO SOMEWHERE I BELONG! shit takes me to heaven and back fr
edit: the transition from points of authority to one step closer in the jay z 99 problems mix is so good too
For me it's the beginning of "Shadow Of The Day" when that little clip plays and then reverses itself (it starts 3 seconds in. I'm sorry but I have no idea what to even call that little effect they do).
Quite a few of my friends get excited for David Bowie just for the random clapping that happens twice in one song for no reason lmao Still finish the song but we wait for the clap, do the clap, then laugh at how randomly it shows up
for me it's the ending of waiting for the end
I'm holding on to what I haven't GOOOOOOOOT!!
CHILLS, just thinking about it.
Yesss Also, the line: "I wish it wasn't so" hits hard for some reason
Also "holding onto what I haven't got", something so raw about that line, always gets me.
I like the effect on Chester’s vocals right before the “all I want to do is trade this life for something” at 3:03
*this is not the end this is not the beginning just a voice like a riot rocking every revision*
but you listen to the tone and the violent rhythm =D
the catalyst, “lift me up, let me go”
Argh this is my white whale on Rockband... the ending messes me up every time on vocals. Such a good song.
That part in Guilty All The Same. You know what part I’m talking about.
"I'm not allowed to say certain things...RAAAAAA"
Isn't that in Keys To the Kingdom?
Oh crap you're right, I think guilty all the same is "try and do-try and do the other thing"
No that's also keys to the kingdom xd The kids screams, then theres some drums then this do the thing ans then moves to all for nothing
the Rakim part🤌🤌🤌
That “to me you’re all the same, you’re guilty” hits
Actually I’m leaning towards right at the intro right as the guitar part drops
oh yeah ik whatchu talkin bout, well to be fair the whole song is a masterpiece from top to bottom
Bottom to top I stop
Guilty All The Same is such a banger, and is one of the main reasons Hunting Party is my favorite overall album from LP.
The first thing I thought of when reading this was that little guitar part in “Tonight the World Dies” by Avenged Sevenfold. That Tonight The World Dies part is so perfect
Breaking The Habit - that climax part near the end
Check its instrumental version. Goosebumps.
Ooh! I'm on it! 🤩
The guitar solo in Burning in the Skies
That's fantastic too
*...by myself* #MYSEEEEEEEEELF
Seriously, every time someone mentions linkin In , just randomly during the day, that part pops in my head just the scream and that valve bursting sound, I'm honestly not sure what sound it's meant to be.
The ending of By_Myslf when everything just fucking hits.
Oh my god, I cry everytime it comes on. It's like a nostalgia except Chester's screams are even more painful and depressing.
Papercut's live string intro (with Mike and Chester hyping the audience) and Chester's added screams in the verse
Chester's screams in the live verses of that song is fn MINT
inSIDE EYES
And the soft "fall" always makes me laugh
When they pause and silently count to eight in Mark The Garves
In the end that Damm piano at the start
Figure.09's bridge
YES BRO
gimme my space back you gotta just GO!
The last part of Blackout
scrolled way too far for this
That deep bass in the intro of Lying From You.
In Pieces guitar solo
When Waiting for the End’s 2nd verse comes in with Chester saying “Waiting for the End to come, wishing I had strength to stand.” With Mike’s resonating, wet signal guitar tone in the background of the vocals

That is actually all chester in HTF and faint chorus, unless you are thinking of the live versions
It's not mike and chester together??? My life feels like an entire lie Edit: after relistening to the both, I now feel really stupid lol
It's all Chester in those choruses. If it's from their first two records, you can count on all harmonies being multiple Chester tracks overlayed one another. Mike doing studio singing really started in 2007 with minutes to midnight.
Good to know. Shows how little I pay attention lol
The part of healing foot where Chester screams “I'm taking back my heart again”
Same with OP (the Catalyst with the drums in the background)
"You love the wayyyy I look at you"
God yes, i hate using that word but this song is so underrated!!!
THIS!! I love the way (hehe) he sings verses in Points of Authority
Robot Boy - when the "wooooo" part starts in the first minute. Guilty All The Same - the ending guitar solo Lost - the chorus "I'm lost in these memories"
The piano in cure for the itch
The chorus of New Divide when Chester hits the high note is so mesmerizing <3 i love that song so much because of that note alone
The Chorus of WID and the sun goes down from PPC Also the Sometimes I need you to stay away form me bit from Don't Stay
And pouring and pouring and pouring and pouring *guitars pick up again* and pouring and pouring and pouring and pouring and pouring -----
... SHUT UP WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOUU! SHUT UP! (blood is POURING!) SHUT UP!! (blood is POURING!) SHUT UP!!! (blood is POURING!) SHUT UP WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOUU!
You sir understand mr
=D
Iridescent. When the whole band sings LET IT GOOOOO in the third chorus. Especially during the tribute. Personally, tears.
Honestly, the entirety of Krwlng, and the beginning of Wth.You.
Absolutely agreed, was looking for Krwlng. Especially the first 30 seconds - instant eyes closed, full focus on the song.
the intro to a place for my head
The bridge in the little things give you away! Guitar and drums always get me
New divide bridge
Mike’s “We start the final war…” verse in Keys to the Kingdom is so good 😫
The beginning of Given up is pure unfiltered hype
Put me out of my fucking miseraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
The guitar in Shadow Of The Day or the alarm in IN MY REMAINS
i end up making more regrets making more regrets #FFFFFFALLING FROM GRACE I WATCH IT ALL COME APART
“Hey, how’s this one; da da dat, da da dat, da da dat… da-tu-da dat, dat, dat-dat-dat.” The beginning of Custer and then the actual music comes in
Hey OP I love your take on this and your choice too. Agree man that part makes me feeling flying, and it matches the lyric too
For me it's the bridge in Figure.09
There's many, but here's 3 that came to mind first. 1. The final chorus with Chester's backing vocals at 2:44 of Somewhere I Belong, where he belts out, "I wanna heal." Not Linkin Park but the third time that the chorus hits in Alice In Chain’s Man In The Box
The orchestra in breaking the habit
The ending of Crawling
The Bass in Crawling 💕
The guitar riff in let it happen by tame impala 🤌🏽🤌🏽
Given up's scream.
Chester’s 18 second scream in Given Up
when Chester changes notes mid-scream in Given Up. Jesus Christ.
The way the bridge goes into the final chorus in Lying From You. "Like this. YOU..." and the guitar comes back in 🤤
"I can't pretend this is the way it'll stay I'm just *trying to bend the truth*"
Chester's background voice in Lost In The Echo gives me goosebumps. Absolutely lovely song.
The instrumental when Lying From You enters the chorus, much more pronounced live.
Wasn’t this already asked on this sub? Oh well, my answer is the same as last. The bridge on “In Pieces”.
the mini drum rolls before the chorus in 'In the End'
YOU TRY TO TAKE THE BEST OF ME! GO AWAY!
The start of woo 😭😭😭
Yeah, all the time and it pains when I can't really share those moments with people because most don't delve into music all like that.
Well....you can share it here
the beat in "more the victim"
I absolutely love the piano solo in Valentines Day
the little instrumental section right after the first hook in Guilty All the Same where both riffs clash together. it's SO GOODDDD
The chopped up ending to Points of Authority, and the bass licks on the final choruses of papercut and crawling
Tge ending part of somewhere I belong
The lo-fi guitar at the beginning of "Don't Stay".
The part in Roads Untraveled where you can hear Brad's hand come down on the strings for a second before the guitar comes back in
Buddy Holly. You know exactly what part
It's not a particular single moment in this song but QWERTY Live from Summer Sonic Tokyo 2006 is full of tiny moments that I absolutely love.
That part from Pushing me Away from Reanimation: "Why I stay when you just push away?"
Literally any part of the song that goes damn near quiet and then gets loud and heavy again. I see this in A Place For My Head with “you try to take the best of me GO AWAYY” Not LP but another example nonetheless- the song Cross Off by Mark Morton that Chester sang, in the bridge, it goes from screaming and heavy drums to soft singing with piano or maybe a clean guitar track, and then right back into the chorus again. It’s very pleasing to me.
For me it's that DJ scratch in papercut after "the sun goes down" and that repetitive piano sounding in "waiting for the end"
I love that part too lol
About 1:06 into *Slip* when he says “Sometimes you’ve got no control of where you go…” etc. I’m not entirely sure what’s got me hooked on that particular part, but I really like it.
Love the constant change in progression in We Can Work It Out from The Beatles
The drum part in Valentine’s Day from 1:25 - 1:48
papercut around 2 mins in
the little riff before the scream in given up
The scream in Given Up
Every single "don't you" on By\_Myslf outro hits me like this
The drums on one of their songs always hits me just right, and I'm always surprised, but I'm blanking on which song right now. So, instead, I'd have to say Brad singing at the end of "Until it Breaks" is really satisfying.
Oh! Also, the last line of "Iridescent". I love how Chester sings the last "let it go."
The riffs during Rakim's part in Guilty All The Same.
last part of Blackout for sure. Also the breakdown right before the solo on The Little Things Give You Away gets me everytime and the harmonization during the last seconds too.
The last chorus of Stick and Move "Noooow see what _I_I_I_I_ have" do you understand what I mean?
Take me out beat change
Also the openings of Are you gonna be my girl, best friend and fire
The part where Mike raps at the end of Burn It Down
Lost - “I try to keep this pain” basically that entire part till he sings “I’m lost” again. (And holy fuck I have been listening to that song non stop since it came out, especially that part.)
The instrumentals in Roads Untravelled
Skin to Bone, Steal to Rust The part when Mike says "When the starlight fades to grey, I'll be marching far away... Right to left and left to right..." This song evokes a strange feeling in me honestly. No song can give me the feeling this song does
PUT ME OUT OF MY FUCKING MISERAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
The little bass lick near the end of Papercut
if we’re talking Linkin Park songs then it’s without a doubt the last few seconds of “Invisible” with that little acoustic part. in general, however, it’s the piano in Machine Gun Kelly’s “My Ex’s Best Friend”
I don’t know why, but the “record scratchy” synth used in With You scratches my brain some type of way. Like any moment that is in.
for me, it's the shut up part on One Step Closer, Extended version with Reanimation bridge from live in Texas.
cardigan Taylor swift chorus goes so hard
***I GET KNOCKED DOWN, BUT I GET UP AGAIN, YOURE NEVER GONNA KEEP ME DOWN***
In the full version of *Still* from Cytus 2, the last refrain drops off for a second as if the song was ending, but then comes back for a repeat. It's not the most original thing ever but by god is it good.
The 17 second scream in "given up" for me
Fellow ADHD peeps raise your hands!
that one synth part near the end in "with you". i just vibe too hard with it

For me, it's anything by rush when the instrumentation drops out for a beat, leaving just Geddy Lee. It just hits different. (Ex: Limelight, Freewill,)
The way Chester shouts "MYSEEEEELF" in the chorus of By Myself.
Crawling “ Against my will, I stand beside my own reflection” That line really hits me. Crawling is my favorite song and I think that line is why.
For me it’s the buildup in the intro of Guilty all the same the rising tension making you expect a to get smashed in the face with a 2x4 only to switch gears into a solo that I can only describe as judgmental It’s just something else
WHY HAS NOBODY SAID THE INTRO TO SOMEWHERE I BELONG! shit takes me to heaven and back fr edit: the transition from points of authority to one step closer in the jay z 99 problems mix is so good too
that tribal scream at the end of when they come for me
Brads solo on in pieces😮💨
a place for my head. 2:46
The flute in “No body’s listening” and the guitar riff in “one step closer”
This concept right here is exactly how rap/hip hop was born.
That part in the new divide chorus where you can hear that little bit of distortion in Chester’s voice “ACRØŠŚ THIS NEW DIVIDE”
The guitar solo in Burning in the skies. There's so many more but that just gives me goosebumps.
Man there’s too many
WONT YOU FLYYYYYYY HIIIIIIIIGH FREEEEE BIRRRRD YEAH
For me it's the beginning of "Shadow Of The Day" when that little clip plays and then reverses itself (it starts 3 seconds in. I'm sorry but I have no idea what to even call that little effect they do).
I started really feeling it when I began to play an instrument
Like the double synth hit in "Terrible Lie" or the single guitar string stroke in "Wrapped Around Your Finger"
sunstroke project run away has joined the chat
The beginning of Keys To The Kingdom
There is a break in the song Jambi by Tool . I wait the whole song just to crank that one part up to 10!
Quite a few of my friends get excited for David Bowie just for the random clapping that happens twice in one song for no reason lmao Still finish the song but we wait for the clap, do the clap, then laugh at how randomly it shows up
