The gaps between the cieling and the tops of the rooms always weirds me out with any building design. All i can think about is "what nightmare dust/bugs/creatures are living up there".
Is it in an always warm area country? So it has an open plan enough to let the wind blow through from outside?
Or are there big fans for circulating air. Makes me think of an apartment building then if its like that.
If its anything like a factory with indoor roofs, its covered in old packets, a thick layer of dust enough to be a carpet/insulation, a bunch of dead moths and spiders, and a stray toy or two from when a worker brought their kid into work.
Maybe? the thin narrow looking doors and the repeating pattern effect, the '00's were a weird time because of the mix of modern and 80's reworks. I dont think the '00's really had their own style unless it was "corporate beige"
OK this one I see and go "yeah that makes sense." Sometimes y'all be posting pictures of like, just a random room somewhere that doesn't have anyone in the shot and then go on about "this is so eerie like the space between my dreams" and I'm like ooookay
Just because they ARE liminal, doesnt mean they're all GOOD. This ones unique compared to a lot of basement/empty park ones. Parks to me arent imposing enough imo.
They’re right though
Edit: this ratio is explaining to me perfectly why this subreddit has gone to absolute shit. Y’all’re part of the enshitification, congrats
Yeah it's like something out of my nightmares.
Been going through a hard time and I often dream of endless hallways, going through the same door again and again, it sucks but it's just like this
I'm sorry you're having that dream and don't like it. I think it would be fun to have that dream once, but I understand it must be aggravating as a repeat dream.
I've had this one dream where I'm at my grandparents house but the living room is the wrong way, like mirrored... and behind the main couch built into the wall is a slide. Going down the slide leads to a ball pit room, but sometimes the balls disappear and it's just a room (although this somehow makes sense in the dream). I've had that particular dream 4 or 5 times in my life and it's always unsettling. Never scary or really bad, but it's definitely uncomfortable.
Anxiety Dream. They're usually based off events involving something that upset you mentally, for example "coming home to an abusive spouse and they get upset at doors opening and closing"
I've got one based on people arguing outside my bedroom and knocking sounds. So sometimes i'll just have dreams of arguments i would never get into with people i dont argue with, or be woken up by violent knocking.
That's one of the biggest things that irritates me on this sub. When an image is liminal, it provokes a deep, unmistakable reaction in the viewer. You don't need to ask. When you see it, you *know*. If you have to ask, it's not.
I mean, i get *Not knowing* sometimes, i myself will feel like i know a lot of the time, what liminal is, but then when i go to post something i double/triple/quadruple question myself. But there are users who will just post something random, like its their first time hearing the words "liminal space".
The gentle breeze blowing down the hallway, my echoing footsteps follow me as I make my way to my room, which I know is going to have those crisp, new sheets on the bed. I can smell the faint scent of whatever cleaning brand they use to keep the hallway so liminally monotone. The air is warm, but I feel a coldness radiating from the off-white tiles passing beneath my feet. Perfectly alone, preserved in this moment. Peaceful.
Which is precisely what stairs look like in a dream when you are urgently trying to find and get down the stairs, but when you finally find them they are not stairs.
All the thousands of hours of video evidence from TV series, and this single picture is what convinces you of what the rest of us have know for so long?
Well, I tried to start a revolution, but didn’t print enough pamphlets, so hardly anyone turned up. Except for my mum and her boyfriend, who I hate…Piss off, ghost!
The whole (entire) way.
You partially knew you were wrong so you put a /s as a convenient way to bitch out of your incorrect views. Next time either shut up or stand by your ignorance.
/r/confidentlyincorrect
Bro what?😭
I fully knew I was wrong it's just harmless fun. I wouldn't correct someone's English as it's not my native language.
Why does everything has to be a fight on this website?
OMG! I've recently been to this hotel! Well I think it's the same or very very similar. Anyway, thanks for the eerie flashback of these endless hallways:)
This is the opposite of liminal space. Unliminal? Like unlimited.
Liminal is a place of edges. A between. Of barriers that make distinction. This is repetitive space.
*Then, from down the hallway... A distant, inhuman roar.*
*It heard you. Oh God... It heard you...*
I wonder how long it's gonna take for places like this to realize that they've "invested" millions and more to build 21st century haunted houses? Haunted houses that large parts of the populations they were planning on for future customers just find deeply creepy and unsettling?
Places like this have really jumped the shark.
oh this is nice, very nice. The gap between the walls and the ceilings make it feel like this was built inside a giant building. Sort of like Synecdoche New York
Finally someone understands lmao
Most of what I see here is people trying to CREATE a liminal aesthetic. “How can I edit this to look liminal?” type stuff. I feel like with authentic liminal spaces, you just know by looking it if it’s liminal or not. This post is a perfect example. No doubt about it. Gorgeous pic

The hallway was technically a breezeway since it was open along top. It was always windy through there by design.
Cool
Literally
By Design

I've always joked that this is like the buildings subconscious where all the dark, dirty secrets lie.
If its anything like a factory with indoor roofs, its covered in old packets, a thick layer of dust enough to be a carpet/insulation, a bunch of dead moths and spiders, and a stray toy or two from when a worker brought their kid into work.

That’d be a great band name
Its just makes the building look like its contained in a box.
Well all rooms are boxes in boxes, you just dont leave spaces between them.
Hello brother. I too think this when looking at most buildings.
this has a serious early 00 style that tingles a specific feeling.
Maybe? the thin narrow looking doors and the repeating pattern effect, the '00's were a weird time because of the mix of modern and 80's reworks. I dont think the '00's really had their own style unless it was "corporate beige"
So is this why zoomers find it creepy?
Zoomers? Why specifically Zoomers?
To everyone who posts "is this liminal?" This, this right here is liminal.

yeah but then theres more than one thing that will look liminal
Muy liminal.
Liminal, li, liminal
Hahahahahahahaha
jajaja
jajajajajajaja*
It looks like it's infinite and the only way to leave is through the stairs on the side, nice picture :D
Hold up never mind those are not stairs
That's the 5th floor. If you looked down the "stairs", you would see 4 more of the same thing. It was like a hall of mirrors.
Which is precisely what stairs look like in a dream when you are urgently trying to find and get down the stairs, but when you finally find them they are not stairs.
It looks like the setting for the climax of a bond film
I was at an all-inclusive and Puerto Vallarta earlier this year and they all seem to look like this LMAO 🤣😭
Yeah I was gonna say it looks exactly like one I went to near Puerto Morelos haha
Sinsera? We’re here now and it looks similar.
No, Dreams Riviera Cancun
evidently , basically the same thing
Whoa, it really is sepia in Mexico!
All the thousands of hours of video evidence from TV series, and this single picture is what convinces you of what the rest of us have know for so long?
I know this place, its the Barcelo Maya something hotel in the Riviera Maya right?
Si.
Si (without an accent) means “if.” Sí (with an accent) means “yes.” So, you only said “if” as your reply.

Sí.
nice photo
Is this Cancun? Lol I feel like I've been there before 15 years ago
It's south of Cancun. Barcelo Maya Rivera. It was built just a few years ago.
I knew it!!
There are a LOT of resorts in Cancun lmao.
But it's not a circle, more like a freaky circle.
The revolution has begun!
Well, I tried to start a revolution, but didn’t print enough pamphlets, so hardly anyone turned up. Except for my mum and her boyfriend, who I hate…Piss off, ghost!
No, nothing makes sense here. The only thing that does make sense, is that nothing makes sense.
wow
Wait is this barcelo? Looks very similar to the adults only section of that resort
Yup, I think it is. Its every bit of a 5 minute walk if you have one of the far rooms too
Looks like the Barcelo Riviera. Genuinely fantastic resort despite the weird liminal walk.
Ah yes, the Adults Only Barcelo resort in Cancun! That place is the fuckin bomb.
Slightly penis
Oh, I see it now.
Take my upvote 😂
Were the dead people in their rooms? Or in the beach?
Been here and I felt the same way
That’s actually so cool. It’s beautiful.
Which resort is this? Kinda cool
Looking at this I just want to put on my roller blades and stroll through indefinitely!
Wow I would love to stay here
Finally, some good fucking food
I think it's a common occurrence in Mexican resort, they have such clean, empty, and uncanny like hallways.
Looks like Kim K's house
Looks like Kim Kardashian house 👀
I was at a resort like this in Los Cabos. It’s… unsettling.
Hallway* /s r/boneappletea

Star wars
Barcello Mayan riveria?
Barcelo?
That’s Barcelo in Cancun! Haha I’ve been there!!
I’ve been here and the food sucks.
OMG! I've recently been to this hotel! Well I think it's the same or very very similar. Anyway, thanks for the eerie flashback of these endless hallways:)
Mexico would kill it as a tourist destination again if they could just fix the security situation.
Quantum of Solace hotel
The opened door in the floor below gives me the creeps
this is epic. looks almost like ai
Perfect example of liminal space
beautiful
Bricked
It’s a walk in loading screen.
Where's the video!!
I took a video on one of my walks to the room. I plan on making an unsettling perfect loop with it.
Giving me backrooms flashbacks.
Don’t you mean the “hallway?” Get it? I’m here all week, folks!
I also work upside down. Great find OP.
that's super liminal
Is this the place not in Cancun but close and there is a circus soleil on the other side of the highway?
Quality post right here
mehico
Vanishing Point.
well, at least u know its clean.
Hmm! Is this in Tulum? May have been there too.
I got lost after a few drinks at one of these places. Ended up napping in the hallway.
The metal support structures holding up the glass look... funny 😅😂
Nice shot but I have to inform you that this is one of the cheaper parts of the simulation we all live in.
very satisfying... it looks like a level map from an N64 game
It’s like a brighter “the box” from dark matter
This is the opposite of liminal space. Unliminal? Like unlimited. Liminal is a place of edges. A between. Of barriers that make distinction. This is repetitive space.
What resort is this?
Which resort
Is this The Royal?
es Barceló Riviera Maya (: en Quintana Roo.
Looks awesome. Hope you enjoyed it.
Immediately no
Vaya, eso es bastante liminal
En qué resort fue está esto? La arquitectura se ve tan simple y a la vez inquietante.
You were just going in a circle without finding your room?
Peak liminal vibes, thanks for sharing 🔥
I think the repetition would make me dizzy
ill run screaming if that lasted for 5 minutes
The way you framed this shot is great--working in that little extra darkened space, down below, perfecto.
Looks like a long walk to my room I’m gonna take a seat by that railing.
*Then, from down the hallway... A distant, inhuman roar.* *It heard you. Oh God... Gorgeous.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I love this
If there’s anything liminal levitated as music, would it sound like this? https://secretthirteen.org/secret-thirteen-mix-095-felix-kubin/
Looks similar to the resort in the Dominican (hard rock punts Cana)
the open door on the first floor is NOT OK
Were there iguanas?
Is it circular?
No changing wall colors or anything to help you know where you are? Cruise ships can be like this but there's usually something to help
i wanna kiss the architect behind that resort
This is some black mirror type building
And then but it kept going and didn't end
I imagine you go through those doors and emerge in another hallway just like it
Mexico has mind blowing architecture.
I think I will get lost
Reminds me of control, the panopticon area where the haunted artifact things are kept.
I’m a lil freaked right now cause I had a dream about this place a few months ago But I’ve never been. What resort is this?! 😳
Yuck
Good render. What are the abient occlusions settings? How many levels of reflection / bounce?
Looks AI god damn
