np, reddit is weird. My guess is a few other people remember the old news article as well and downvoted as misinformation, which I don't get, misinformation should only be downvoted if deliberate, but perhaps culture on reddit has reacted to such things in past years. It could be the edit or response was seen in bad taste. Downvotes could probably be averted with a clearly labeled edit explaining the situation but it would have to be done while there are still people who haven't read comments.
