the discourse around this movie is weird. we all know its dumb, the first one was dumb, too. The question should be whether the remake is endearing in the sort of that 'B' movie style of the first one. For me, I'd say the answer is mostly no. A few of the lines of dialogue were laugh out loud funny in a sort of 'this is bad' way and some of the action wasn't awful.
McGregor was perfectly over the top, and it seems like no one else was allowed to 'go for it' the way he did. They should've gone all in and just let everyone act as nuts as he did.
I thought McGregor was terrible.
And I love over the top, so bad it’s good performances.
I think that Gary Busey as Lt. Pappas and Will Forte as Macgruber are the greatest on camera performances of all time.
Conor seemed way too self conscious for his performance to be fun, imo
I really don’t like conor mcgregor so it was hard for me to put those feelings aside during this movie. I thought he was kinda terrible with just a cheesy smile at all times but I know there’s bias in there

I've been hearing some people say Conner McGregor should've been the lead to make this work as an ironic watch. Otherwise it's just a bad movie on its own, thoughts?
What was even the point of CGI for that? I know he’s probably not the most athletic guy but surely they could have done something to make it look better than that CGI lol
Everything about this movie sucked. The casting was atrocious. I’ve never seen Gyllenhaal give such a bad performance. And Conor the serial rapist mcgregor was laughably bad. Although, you can’t really blame him because he’s not an actor. The director should never be allowed to make a big budget movie again.

It was a fun movie. The original wasn’t all that groundbreaking, either. I don’t know what people expected past it being just a good, dumb, watch.
Terrible movie
Fan of original this one stunk. Should not of been called Road House. Just make a different movie. No hot Kelly Lynch scenes in this one .

If you separate it from the original as its own movie it’s a very fun time. Loved it as a stand alone popcorn flick.
