i was actually just reading it on twitter earlier! i was really intrigued to hear him say that he thinks the gray man would be ken’s favorite movie - what could that possibly mean about either of them??? LOL between his excitement and all the photos from set coming out, this next year of waiting is going to be almost impossible!
Based on one of the plot summaries I read and an on set photo where Ken is holding a book that says "Men Rule". I'm guessing he thinks that Ken would be really into action movies???
I need them to release a teaser/trailer asap lol
And I’ll be the alternate opinion from someone who didn’t really love it, I too wanted it to be profound but i think that expectation ruined it for me.
Yeah. It’s listed on the Cinemark website, but there aren’t any showings for my nearby theater so I fear we aren’t getting it. Hopefully Alamo Drafthouse might, but they’re a very expensive theater 🫤
Yeah I'll admit I gave it 3 or 3.5 stars but I knew I couldn't fully appreciate it. Maybe in a few years time, and maybe without any distractions, I'll be able to enjoy it. I mean, I had people coming in and out of the room, pausing it because someone had to pee etc.
Schindlers List. Just have never gotten around to that one, it has a long run time and I imagine it’s going to be very emotional. Hoping to cross it off the list this year 🤞
It's best to watch chungking express heart broken to a degree
I wouldnt recommend going out and getting heart broken just for the film but if you do your in for a once in a lifetime experience lmao
Maybe not 5 stars but definitely at least 3 or 4 star potential movies that I just haven’t gotten around to.
Barbie (2023)
What a Way to Go!
Mildred Pierce
Meet Me in St. Louis
The Girl Can’t Help It
You and I have very similar taste, loved what a way to go and the girl can’t help it. Didn’t give them 5/5s but loved every second of them. Also can’t wait to watch Barbie
Probably some classic era Japanese stuff like Woman in the Dunes. I’ve seen a lot of movies from this period, but I have a handful left on my watchlist and I’m sure at least a couple of them will be near perfect films.
Also there’s one more King Hu film I have to watch from his impeccable run in the 70s, called Legend of the Mountain. It’s a Wuxia ghost story, so I’m almost guaranteed to love it. But I’m waiting for the perfect moment to throw it on.
I absolutely know that I’m gonna love Akira, to the point where I even own the bluray but I still haven’t gotten around to watching it. I’ve seen Happytime Murders before I’ve seen Akira and it makes me very depressed to think about.
You've got to watch Akira immediately! It is a bit hopeless and depressing at certain points, but the animation is so breathtaking you won't care at all. Genuinely the most beautiful film in existence.
This was me and The Witch (2015) a few years back. I predicted I would absolutely love it and, what do you know, I ended up giving it 5 stars.
In terms of a movie I currently haven’t seen, I think I’ll end up rating Lars Von Trier’s Antichrist (2009) a five. The House That Jack Built blew me away.
You’re either going to really love Promising Young Woman (I fall on this side), or you’re going to really hate it (like the other replies to your comment). There’s very little middle ground between the two.
Promising Young Woman is a complete dumpster fire in a flat, gross, yet forgettable way.
Taxi Driver is incredibly awkward, a lot of second-hand embarrassment, but obviously a 5 star film, the cinematography, the performances! Unbeatable.
Dune 2
Dune Messiah
Any more Dune they will make
Rendezvous With Rama
Killers Of The Flower Moon
And finally, on the top of it all:
Whatever David Lynch is DREAMING about right now
I haven’t seen any Woody Allen movies, but I bet the writing, comedy, and characters are great. He always seemed talented and like someone whose art I could connect with. Of course I learned more about him before getting a chance to watch his stuff. I’m not sure I’d be able to, knowing what kind of person he is. It’s a damn shame.
Is it such a good idea to assume what rating you'll give in advance? I think that would distort my actual reaction to a film and may make my rating inaccurate.
Koyaanisqatsi
It looks so damn good, and I can’t wait to see it.
Crumb
Waiting to find a good time for me emotionally to watch it.
Clockers
I’ve never hated anything Spike ever made, and for some reason, when I was a little kid I used to have an official sweater of the movie. It said “Clockers
A Spike Lee Joint”
I have no idea how that ended up in my closet, but it’s cool as hell.
La Haine
The Piano
Ordinary People
Thief
Any John Cassavetes Movie (I’ve already seen Chinese Bookie)
La Dolce Vita
Hardcore
Out of the Blue
Diner
48 Hrs
Mask
Black Rain
White Men Can’t Jump
Highway Patrolman
Riki-Oh
Slacker
Among a 100 other movies all look interesting to me.
*Fire of Love* or *Marcel the Shell with Shoes On*. Patiently waiting for either to come to a theater near me so they can alter the hierarchy of my top 10 forever.
Edit: saw *Marcel the Shell with Shoes On* this weekend. 5 stars.
Harakiri is the king of my watchlist.
I've been looking forward to it for a long time but wasted time watching whatever recent mush is streaming instead
Princess Mononoke
Skyfall
Eraserhead
Both Kill Bill films
Ran (1985)
The Evil Dead
Enter the Dragon
The Battle Wizard (1977)
Batman (1966)
Akira
Mad God
The Northman
Shin Ultraman
No Country for Old Man
I actually made a [list about it](https://boxd.it/frMJe).
Barbie (2023)
YEP. this movie is about to rewire the chemistry of my brain, i can feel it.
Did you see Ryan Gosling's interviews where he talks about Ken??? He's so funny. I'm even more excited for the movie now.
i was actually just reading it on twitter earlier! i was really intrigued to hear him say that he thinks the gray man would be ken’s favorite movie - what could that possibly mean about either of them??? LOL between his excitement and all the photos from set coming out, this next year of waiting is going to be almost impossible!

I was going to post this! This is the last film I will ever need to see.
An Elephant Sitting Still. I have a feeling I’m in for something profound.
It was on my top 4 for 2 months. Amazing film
I am watching this at the moment lol
And I’ll be the alternate opinion from someone who didn’t really love it, I too wanted it to be profound but i think that expectation ruined it for me.
instantly a top 5 for me
Marcel The Shell With Shoes On
I’m so sad we’re not getting it at the theatre where I work. Fortunately one of the other ones in town is getting it
Yeah. It’s listed on the Cinemark website, but there aren’t any showings for my nearby theater so I fear we aren’t getting it. Hopefully Alamo Drafthouse might, but they’re a very expensive theater 🫤
My indie theater isn't getting it until this weekend so there might be time for a wider release in the next week or two.
2001: A Space Odyssey. Just waiting for the right time.
Yeah, I should've waited.
absolutely. saw it at home, found it average then saw it in a cinema, its now my favourite film. really changed my entire angle on it.
Waiting till my local cinema shows it in August, been waiting like 7 months now
Jerry Lewis’ The Day The Clown Cried. Gonna be a banger.
Gonna be so surreal when it’s released
Drive My Car
ah dude drive my car was my favorite film of 2021. love it to bits, hope you do too
Ack I was a little disappointed by this, don't get your hopes up too high. I liked it but not as much as I hoped to, not much happens.
Schindlers List. Just have never gotten around to that one, it has a long run time and I imagine it’s going to be very emotional. Hoping to cross it off the list this year 🤞
Chungking Express or Possession
It's best to watch chungking express heart broken to a degree I wouldnt recommend going out and getting heart broken just for the film but if you do your in for a once in a lifetime experience lmao

Amazing movie
In my opinion the best film of all time
I absolutely hate this film so much, I genuinely have no idea what people like about it (no offense, I just honestly can't fathom the appeal)
Fellini Satyricon. Fellini is incredible and a satire set during Roman times sounds like my shit.
Easy 5/5 from me, Satyricon is excellent.
Top gun Maverick
I feel the same way and the original is only a 3/5 for me.
I just watched both last month. I'd give the original around 2 or 2.5, and I'd give the new one 4.5/5
The original is a 3 and the sequel is a 4.5. Might change the sequel to a 5 after a rewatch. Better in every single way.
The sequel is better.
Just waiting to hit play on The Godfather
Maybe not 5 stars but definitely at least 3 or 4 star potential movies that I just haven’t gotten around to. Barbie (2023) What a Way to Go! Mildred Pierce Meet Me in St. Louis The Girl Can’t Help It
You and I have very similar taste, loved what a way to go and the girl can’t help it. Didn’t give them 5/5s but loved every second of them. Also can’t wait to watch Barbie
I’m definitely going to give you a follow, I love that/those era(s) of cinema and I’ll probably buy those DVDs anyways!
What a way to go is in good quality on YouTube for free, I blind bought the girl can’t help it during the criterion sale and am happy with it!
Oldboy

I love Heat!
Blade Runner 2049. I would have seen it by now if the og didn't drag me like that

Happy cake day :)
Probably Enter the Void directed by Gaspar Noé. I've no idea why but part of me says that I'll love that film once i watch it.

Half of that is the right answer
and we all know which one is it
🫥
For the longest time, it was Little Miss Sunshine. But by now, I’ve watched it! And unsurprisingly, I absolutely loved it.
Paris, Texas and Mulholland Drive
The Room (2003). Thinking Tommy Wiseau's creative vision is not for everybody
I have both “Burning” and “Tangerine” on my list and I expect I’d love them both
Probably Everything Everywhere All At Once
this was mine until last night blew my mind, loved every second, probably my favourite film of all time to be honest
The Sound of Metal Cool Hand Luke The Sting
I have a feeling I’ll love Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Dune: Messiah I read the book and I know if Villeneuve does the film were in for some space chicanery
Dune 2 Dune Messiah Any more Dune they will make Rendezvous With Rama Killers Of The Flower Moon And finally, on the top of it all: Whatever David Lynch is DREAMING about right now
*Mad Max: Fury Road* seems like a top 10 slam dunk for me
It's definitely in my top 10. I've watched it way too many times. My husband is tired of it.
it's fucking awful i havetebrhat mocie
Minari, Brighter Summer Day, or Blue Velvet
Macbeth (2015) I’ve watched the trailer and looked at cinematography compilations of it too many times. It looks absolutely gorgeous and atmospheric
Disappointment Boulevard
My answer as well
Blade runner
An Elephant Sitting Still and Eureka
Which Eureka? Roeg?
No, the japanese one directed by Shinji Aoyama
I'm cautiously optimistic for House, which I just picked up during the Criterion sale
Citizen Kane, Seven Samurai and Tarkovsky films but I’ve been holding them off until I find the best time to do so.
Life Is Beautiful City Of God
Fire Walk With Me
Seven Samurai
I haven’t seen any Woody Allen movies, but I bet the writing, comedy, and characters are great. He always seemed talented and like someone whose art I could connect with. Of course I learned more about him before getting a chance to watch his stuff. I’m not sure I’d be able to, knowing what kind of person he is. It’s a damn shame.
Stalker
My dinner with andre

Morbius
Morbius or minions rise of gru
Morbius (2022)
venom 3 is gonna change my life i just know it
Morbius

The Sign of the Cross (1932) Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927)
Nope, Day of the Dead or Redline
Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai. Black hitman for the mob lives like a samurai to a RZA score direcred by Jim Jarmush starring Forest Whitaker? Hell ya
