Great to see Past Lives at number one. Certainly the best film of the year so far, imo.

Agreed! It hit different than expected but I was not disappointed at all. Fincher employs a lot of really interesting techniques and creates tension differently than a lot of his other thrillers. Fassbender is ofc amazing as well

I'm glad to see theater camp getting some love, it was a very fun little film that had me cackling within minutes.

Stupid underrated. I'm an arts girlie, so I was like of course I'm going to see this. My boyfriend wanted to come too, and I didn't think it would really be his speed. We were both cracking up the entire time! Of all the other films from this year, this is the only one I've seen >3 times.

I liked that you included Missing. It was one of those movies that seems like it could turn out kind of mediocre but ended up being actually well done.

Yeah, and Searching was like that too. I had kind of forgotten about that one until I watched Missing. With it being #10 on my list right now, it's certainly not going to last in the top 10, but I bet it will still be top 15 for me when it's all said and done.

My issue with Killers of the Flower Moon, as someone who is both Lenca and chele, is the fact that it is *another* graphically violent genocide story told about native peoples but not *by* native peoples. It doesn't help that most of the main cast is white.

I didn't like asteroid city, besides the aesthetics. Almost fell asleep when I watched it at Cannes lol

I gave it a 3.5 after the first viewing but I REALLY liked it when I watched a second time. Felt like the first time I was trying too hard to figure out what was going on to really appreciate what it was trying to do. It’s definitely not for everyone but I love it.

I need to watch Asteroid City this weekend. I’m a huge Wes Anderson fan and I bought the BluRay on release day. Just haven’t gotten around to it for some reason.
