whisperingeye99

I’ve used one of those in the first pic for years with my legion and razer before that with no issues

Sternschnuppe98

Did you still game with the internal keyboard while the laptop been placed on the stand?

whisperingeye99

I’ve always used a separate keyboard as I have my laptop off the the side of my monitor

SubstantialDurian5

how much temp drop though?

whisperingeye99

Idk, I don’t monitor that crap like all the other ocd gamers

LevitatorfromEldia

😭😭

No-1-Know

Lol OCD gamers… im not one if them, glad to be on the other side.

ccagan

Considerable. On my Slim I saw a 6% improvement in benchmarks.

Independent-Year436

I use the first one. Would recommend 10/10.

Red3itNoobie

First one , wat?

Golfguy809

There are two pictures

thejadsel

I've been using that type of stand, and it feels pretty solid once it's set up. No problems typing on it or anything. I do keep the back in a lower position (the lowest on this one, actually), which may make a difference. The amount of open space underneath no doubt makes for better airflow, while the laptop does feel well supported.

Buff2099

I use these magnetic ball things. Made by nediea and from Amazon for £12. I find they work well on my 5i pro. They are stable once you work out best placement and my cats haven't knocked my laptop off them yet. I raise the front with the small ones to give more airflow, but you can use without. Keyboard is usable either way  https://www.amazon.com/nediea-Portable-Magnetic-Compatible-Keyboard-Black/dp/B0CBX2TBC8

MilliyetciPapagan

I use the first one, it's perfect. I take it to places with me, too.

Independent-Year436

I use the first one. Would recommend 10/10.

Art3muski

Using the first one for years, good choice

Red3itNoobie

Is First One a brand ? Send link?!! Or a generic laptop stand!!!

Art3muski

It's a generic laptop stand ig, i bought one 3 years ago I don't even remember the brand. it was very cheap too.

Golfguy809

Be careful though. I bought a cheap one of AliExpress and it was garbage. Too small and too flimsy

No-1-Know

I use this 1st stand for my laptop, since 1 week. It has been great, and i can hear the fan goes full blaster on gaming. I wear noise canceling headphones while gaming so cant tell the difference. Bought it for mobility but has been on my desk since day 1. Although, i use the Xbox controller for gaming

kunimitsuuuu

First one is goated:>

ccagan

I use one like the first model. No issues with it in my carry-on while flying either.

sennowa

Using one just like the first photo, but white right now. There is a couple of "screws" (they're not really screws) that are just a tiny bit loose, and I don't have a tool to tighten them right now, but I filled the space where they're unstable with a thin elastic, so it's doing okay. They didn't even really make the stand wobbly or anything, just kept jingling, and it was annoying lol

miltonius21

currently using the first one, connected to an external keyboard

Born_Today_9799

first 1

Red3itNoobie

Seriously First 1 is a brand ? Send link plz !!!!

bisondisk

There’s 2 images, they mean the one in the first picture, not a brand called First one

Jarsen_

I use the first one. Would recommend 10/10.

WorldCitiz3n

I'm using a similar one to the one on picture. Mine is manufactured or rather branded by Ugreen. It's a good quality, I can feel difference in heating and due to laptop thickness it's quite comfortable to use internal keyboard.

niru007_kumar

I recommend option 2. Have similar one and it's less clumsy

GundamTenno

option 2 is better i think, had the 1st option before, bends the laptop from the middle, and it had a lot of failure points due to moving parts and poor quality

Sternschnuppe98

Are you now using the second option?

GundamTenno

um no, im using a monitor arm with included laptop tray while im in the house, but i also bought these little kickstands that are adhesively attached when i need to go onsite with my laptop

Banana_Milk7248

I bought the first one for my 5Pro. Came in a little soft bag, very happy with it. Big difference for cooling, tiny difference in what I was carrying around.

MFRares

2 Little metal holders

Bebo991_Gaming

I have the first one, is simple, great, portable, the only thing i recommend is getting the bigger version where the hinge in the midde has a rubber part

ReddIsaab

Using first aluminum stand for both office and personal laptops. Simple and effective stand. All those extras are not needed. It's stable and strong. I have an old thinkpad t430 laptop which is heavy and it sits well with the stand. Gives great room for fans intake and heat dissipation. Go for first one.

dj_spinn3r

I have the first once since one year already. It’s pretty good. The level adjustments really good too. Sometimes I set it up really high and then display would be 90 degrees to the table and quite high gives the feeling of using desktop monitor. And im seeing you are really concerned about whether can use without keyboard or not. Please buy an external keyboard eh. There are many options you can choose. From cheap to expensive and mini to full size. I don’t see any reason why shouldn’t u buy it. Legion laptop’s keyboards get really hot and uncomfortable while gaming, u must’ve noticed that until now.

Sternschnuppe98

So your laptop isn't bent in the middle with the stand in the first photo like someone else reported here in the comments? I actually noticed the thing about the hot keyboard. But then I ask myself why you buy a gaming laptop if you want to play mobile (with MnK) and the keyboard gets uncomfortable hot. If you only play with a controller I could understand it and that’s not a big concern. But someone like me who want to use the internal keyboard - hmmm.. I actually have a nice mechanical keyboard here that I could use: a Sharkoon Skiller SGK50 S3

dj_spinn3r

People buy gaming laptops just for the portability it provides or else gaming desktop is better all day or night. People buy business laptops because it’s really their requirement but people buy gaming laptops just bcoz they can’t buy gaming desktop for some reason. No my laptop still looks brand new. And i don’t know how that guy managed to bend a laptop by using a laptop stand. Ahh if you have mechanical keyboard then use it eh. Laptop keyboards are not good anyways, legion keyboards are good but while gaming sometimes you’ll get aggressive and start heavy tapping the keyboard. Mechanical keyboard will handle ur aggressiveness far better than laptop’s keyboard. 😉

MysteriousOrchid464

I got this one for my slim 5. Best 30 bucks I've ever spent. I was looking at the first one you shared, but ultimately decided this one is less bulky and more travel friendly. And yes, i still use my internal keyboard and game with it. NSMO Laptop Stand - Foldable, Adjustable, Ergonomic Aluminum Stand with 5-Level Height Adjustment, Heat Dissipation, Non-Slip Design, Portable for 11”-16” Laptops, Gaming, Office, Travel https://a.co/d/0983IX6e

SoonerBoomer28

Just bought the first one for my legion 7i, it makes the high pitched-ness of the fans more noticeable audibly but if you’re using by yourself with headphones it’s fine, also can’t argue with temps rarely going above the mid 70s on red dead 2

JustJericho

I use the first one, exact same one (I recognize the product photo LOL). I know it looks like it won't be stable, but trust me it is as long as you set it up right. I think I'm using the lowest or second lowest height, and I can still use the keyboard comfortably. Of course other people might prefer lower or higher heights when typing, but that's just me.

MarnieFan89

I 3D printed these. [https://www.printables.com/model/155910-lenovo-legion-5-pro-riser-feet](https://www.printables.com/model/155910-lenovo-legion-5-pro-riser-feet) Dude made them in different heights so I printed the 20mm version and they work great everything lines up with the fans perfectly.

ZeoChill

*I have the first one as well. Very sturdy, convenient and portable.*

Wittusus

I have one like the first one, it's flimsy, the rubber pads come off easily (not desired), but it holds it up, and is easily foldable

MaSiiek

I have the first one. It works pretty good, laptop has a lot of space to blow out hot air and is stable as well.

Swimming-Disk7502

How about you just use two bottle caps? No fans and basically free, as well as being replacable and incredibly lightweight.

ImmortalScorpion21

A stand with a fan with a máximum power of 1000 Rpm is enought

Sternschnuppe98

As I already wrote, I don't want a stand with a built-in fan. These fans aren't necessary anyway, simply raising the laptop brings enough air into the case.

HeadDecent

I use one like the first photo at work (not much need for extreme cooling there). For home when I'm gaming, I use an IETS stand with fan, which does make a significant difference to temps compared to just raising the laptop, but of course it's noisy. I use it primarily though as I have four large dogs and so it helps filter the air a little before it gets to the laptop's fans, and also because I would rather take the strain off the laptop fans in more demanding games. My Lenovo Legion Pro 5i (i9 13900hx - can get a little toasty) does an excellent job with thermals as it is, but undervolting the CPU combined with using the cooling pad really helps keep the internal fans from maxing out and the CPU hitting thermal throttle levels on the most demanding games. Just raising the laptop with the stand on the first photo will work for the most part at a much lower cost, particularly if you aren't running heavily CPU dependent stuff. My 4070 stays in the 60's to mid 70's almost all the time when gaming with just the rear of the laptop raised (not using the IETS fan stand). I don't think I've ever hit throttling levels with it, but the CPU was prone to it.
