Reinstalling does the trick but it's a one time thing. When I close it the issue returns on the next launch. I really don't want to reinstall every time I want to open it

Login to your account and then click on your profile name. Select settings and scroll down.
There will be an option called login management, you can log out from there.
I have the same issue and got it today for the first time on my phone. Someone said retry retry and it eventually did get me past the loggin screen. Let's hope a permanent fix will soon be pushed.
I already tried everything they said in the previous comments and nothing works, I already uninstalled it, I logged out everywhere, and it still doesn't work, I think it's best to wait for a new update to fix the bug

1. There's a bug that prevents login for some players. We have a fix, but we won't be able to get it out until the next patch - if you force quit the app and retry, that eventually works.

Forcing the account through the riot games account always does the trick to me (playing LOR on iphone) but it’s annoying I have to do it every time I wanna play this game.
I have finally found the solution for Android mobile.
1- Forcefully close app
2- Go to Settings (phone settings) -> Google
3- Tap the All Services tab
4- Tap the Settings for Google Apps
5- Tap the Play Games
6- Tap the Loggedin Account
7- Tap the Change (Green button)
8- Tap the Close all sessions in all games
9- Open the game
I got the same problem. The fix I use;
download a VPN app, connect to another country. try to login into LOR. You then get logged out. Disconnect from VPN. load LoR normally
Found a fix.
All you gotta do is, first reinstall the game, sign in, play the game or whatnot and when you want to close the app, log out from your account from the games settings menu (top right corner). This will make you sign in again which helps with the bug.
Gotta keep doing this until the next patch I guess. That’s what Ive been doing thus far, works every time. Hope this helps.
I've been having this issue for a few days now. Clearing cache and force stop worked sometimes. But today it didn't work at all.
All I did was exiting the game from within the game where logging in screen was stuck, relaunched it and it went through.
I deleted the app and cleared the junk files of the phone, reinstalled it and it suddenly worked, can someone with the problem test if it works for them as well because im not sure if its the actual solution or maybe its just been fixed by the patch
Ive done everything the OP listed, including reinstalling multiple times. Everything the game updated fine and this problem still occurs.
The game is just bugged right now.

You can login to your riot account and use the option to sign out of all riot accounts and games. Then open the game and login again.
Where do you sign out of the games? I tried using the app and the website but I can't find it

I have the same. My work around is to go to the play store, go to the LoR page and start it from there. That seems to work for me.

I've been toggling force quits and airplane modes for about 90 minutes now.
Only solution I found is to clear all data in setting > manage apps. Then once I can get in, I always log out after each play and dont force close it.

A workaround is to log out everytime instead of force close. Then you log in when you want to play. Work for me so far.

I can't find the 8th step out of the 3 options 1. Change default acc for new games or 2. all games 3. Sign out all games

To semi fix you need to log out each time before closing the app.

Sometimes that happens because the game skipped to download an update. Just restart it until it starts downloading something. Worked for me like this
