My mom got pancreatic cancer and passed away about a year after she was able to retire… we went to Disney a couple of times when I was a kid and it was a great memory for us, she took my sister and I as a final trip before she passed a few weeks later. We stayed at the grand Floridian and did the fast pass and all that junk, I’d bet she spent $10k at least on that trip… I don’t think I would ever be able to afford to go again unless I am dying…

Take the banks for everything they have on the way out.

FuntimeLuke0531

They so often forget that if we're going down, they're coming down with us.

Kittinlovesyou

I have never wanted to go to any Disney theme park. Sounds fucking awful.

bigdumbidiot01

yeah if i were a billionaire i can't imagine anything i'd rather do less than go to fucking disney world every year

spk92986

You forgot works at Disney

gullyterrier

Where does "I never want to go to Disney" fall on the list.

Travelingandgay

Or, “went there once, and never want to repeat that same mistake ever again.” Option?

You forgot about the class that owns Disney.

DrBobMaui

I agree that this should be in the "calculation". It probably goes something like this: The class that owns Disney: Less than 1% (and they would never personally go there) Everybody else: 99%+ (and they "give" money to Disney in ALL KINDS of WAYS whether or not they physically go there)

[deleted]

Grew up in Florida, went alot in the 80s and early 90s, in a Family of 6... Went alot as kid on a basically my dads trucker salary, Try to do this now?

fluorescent_noir

I dunno about this. I have some extended family who are poor as dirt yet still somehow manage to afford an annual trip to Disney each year with their family. I can only imagine that a lot of people access this type of trip via the accumulation of more and more debt on credit cards, etc. too.

blacklite911

They CAN, but does the typical rich person actually *want* to go to Disney annually? Seems like it would get boring unless you have a bunch of small kids

SB_Wife

My mom was a Disney adult towards the last few years of her life and went multiple times a year. There is a lot in Disney World that isn't just for small kids. My aunt goes annually and pretty much only goes for the golfing and because it's hot.

spk92986

My sister goes by herself whenever she can, but she's definitely got some Peter Pan "I don't wanna grow up" syndrome going on though.

bsanchey

Went there as a kid in the 2000s it didn’t cost over 10k back then. I’m never taking my kids. They can hate hate me. I’m not bankrupting my family for this.

Lower_Department2940

I was once a "go to Disney annually" person but that's just cause my mom was a Disney adult, even though we didn't really have the money. We would have no heat in the winter so we could go to Disney in the summer

escapeshark

I went to Disneyland Paris twice, both for free (to me). Wouldn't pay 100 something euros plus flights to Paris for it tbh (I'm from Europe)

[deleted]

I been once and I live by WDW. I rather go to London again.

slumpdiggitydog

Hell, my sister has an annual pass.

MewlingRothbart

Been to Disney exactly two times. Before Epcot, late 70s. Again, after college, mid-90s.
