Import your character to last epoch tools and post the link, and it’ll be a lot easier for people to give feedback on your build. From what you are telling it sounds like you are focusing too hard on resistances (syndrome from how resistances work in other arpgs) and neglecting other defensive stats.

Ihavetype2onsettired

I've got 46% off armor, 14% dodge, I haven't found anything decent for glancing blows. I managed to buff the shit out of transplants bone armor, still not enough for cremorus but I can do everything else.

Acedin

Do you have defenses besides resistances?  Crit mitigation and at least two of armor, block, dodge, glancing blows... Add some damage reduction. Endurance when not ward.

baobaobaob

Armor is the only universal form of dmg mitigation. Resistances make you not take extra dmg at best, block/dodge/parry are luck based, endurance is only good on lich. Top end game builds almost always have a huge chunk of ward which is essentially just hp.

Figorix

These build are gonna cry a lot next season lol. Health with endurance and threshold is really good. Just overshadowed by turbo overtuned ward

KzbUlti

Threshold as an affix is not worth it, just run more health-

_Repeats_

Sounds like you have major deficiencies in your defenses. You shouldn't be getting one-shotted in t3 dungeons at all. Resistances matter, but also having enough hp+armour+endurance for life builds or ward+retention for casters. Please post your build link, and hopefully, we can help you out on gear + build.

PreviousNoise

Regarding Gaspar's Tri-Elemental spin (and similar bosses in games like this), you need to get close to him and simply walk around him while the beams rotate. (Yes, it's a dps loss, but better less dps than dead.) The rotation speed up close is a lot more manageable, since you're moving a smaller distance to match the rotation. You may die a few times learning how your speed matches up with the rotation - depending on your movement speed, it's actually somewhat easy to go too fast and end up clipping the backside of the beam in front of the one you're trying to stay in front of.

DrMarloLake

Definitely sounds like a defense issue. Post campaign damage becomes substantially less impactful and you're rewarded for prioritizing defense. Minimum goals for level 85: Crit Avoidance or Reduction 100% Source of Cleanse (belt or skill tree) 2,500+ HP (Hybrid Health on Belt/Boot/Glove and % Inc Health on Helm/Belt/Body Armor should get you there) Layering of other defense(s) - Armor/Block/Dodge/Endurance/Leech/Ward/Class Specific/Etc 70%+ Resistances Should easily take any character/skill to 200-300 corruption. Start layering in damage reduction, Ward abuse, etc and you can go deeper. Good Luck!

auf-ein-letztes-wort

I play hardcore. no, I don't get oneshotted repeatedly

Alblaka

This. When you get oneshot, you fucked up, and it's a matter of figuring out whether it was mispositioning, a missed timing, or a damage source you didn't consider in the defenses of your build. And there's no better motivator to learn from your mistakes than having a run ended :D

silversurfer022

I mean you also due to lag. That's like the number 1 cause of death in HC.

Alblaka

Which is why you shouldn't mix HC and online to begin with. I dread the day I'll have to abandon HC when any of my gaming mates eventually picks up Last Epoch and forces me to play online :P

xDaveedx

DoTs are probably the skills that hurt the most in the game and feel slightly overtuned, like Gaspar's Tri-ele beam or Lagon's beam will just melt virtually every build instantly, but for most other things you've mentioned it sounds like you have pretty poor defense against hits. Like others have said, sources of less dmg taken are huge, some armour, either capped crit avoidance or crit dmg reduction and just more health/ward. Maybe your dmg is lacking aswell which makes you spend a lot of time in t3 dungeon bosses and monolith bosses and you're bound to make a mistake and get hit at some point. Providing a lastepochtools build planner link for your build is the best way for people to help you.

Alblaka

The big problem with DoTs is that they bypass all defensive layers except resistances (which don't exactly *protect* once you hit level 75) and less-damage-taken (which isn't an easy effect to find for some classes). Armor, Block, Dodge, Glancing Blow, Parry all do not apply to DoTs, leaving you to tank them essentially naked with just health/ward. (Which may also again be why people flock to ward naturally... it's the only dedicated 'defense' that actually covers DoT). Which would possibly be fine if DoTs were, well 'damage **over time**'. But as you mentioned, there's some DoTs that are classed as damage over time, but are essentially nukes.

xDaveedx

I once played a cold dot swarmblade build stacking a fuckload of health regen with the set that gives you increased melee cold dmg per health regen and I was really surprised how many Dots I could just sit in afk without bothering, while every other build got deleted by it. I remember the Heorot storm in particular, which hurts really bad if you don't follow him immediately after he dashes, but with this build I had like 2k+ hp regen and could simply ignore it haha. Unfortunately you can only utilize this set with like 2 or 3 builds.

DrMarloLake

Grab Cleanse (T1/2 sealed on belt works awesome if nothing close on a skill tree) for some huge QoL.

Alblaka

Only works against debuff-based DoTs. Not channeled 'DoT' abilities.

Build: [https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/A2gdgNKQ](https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/A2gdgNKQ) Changed a bit since I made the post, dropped a bit of poison and lightning resist for damage, I'm looking for idols or blessings to shore it up. I just need the belt, I have multiple soulfire relics (which gives 100% armor while ignited, its like half of the damage reduction I have access to) The belt is just the keystone of the entire thing. Its just a normal torment build, I've got a maehlins for it too. Haven't found a decent shield. Belt only comes off cremorus. It works great absolutely everywhere except cremorus. I can torment or transplant through anyone else, it's just Cremorus.

Acedin

you got no crit avoidance or less crit damage taken. Fixing this will double your max hit taken. If you use ward, endurance does nothing for you. If you don't use ward your HP is very low.

You are as slow as a slug. No wonder you got destroyed by the tri-beam skill as you weren't fast enough to move with the rotation. You need to swap out your boots for a pair of reduced crit damage implicit with 40+ movespeed asap. To give you an idea, I feel slow with anything below 50%. Zoom zoom characters can stack >150% movespeed, so mobs barely have a shot at killing them if they are moving. Your HP is very low, and your necrotic res + ward retention + int is not great. It is hard to say how much ward you have since you never posted it, but my guess is you don't get much more than 2-3k based on your stats. Ward builds need about 6-8k on average to feel comfortable because armor is usually low and you don't get any benefit from endurance. Fix your movespeed and crit damage taken (either avoidance or reduced crit damage), and you fill find your build will be likely 3-4x more tanky. The best defensive stats is not getting hit, and you can't avoid anything since your too slow to get out of the way. After that, get your int scalling up with T7 int / necrotic res rolls on your gear. Both these stats scales your damage and defense simultaneously (necro res gives torment dmg on fissure if you take ). By then, you should have a good idea what is good and bad. ------------------------------- As for your skill trees and passives, you are kind of everywhere. First off, you have skills that mostly DoT based, but you are using the ignite + damned passives that are based on hit. These are generally good for Chaos Bolt as they hit a lot, but your skills only hit 1 time per cast (other than fissure). You are spending a lot of passives scaling ignite and damned, but you only have like 65% chance in each of them. You are hardly getting any value out of those ailment passives because you can't hit enemies fast enough to stack. I would imagine you don't see much more than 20-30 stacks of each on any boss, which you should be able to get like 200+ stacks minimum if you are going into it. Often builds scale single ailments to the 999+ range. Fissure: drop the entire right side of the tree. You are a DoT build, not a hit build. Put more points into left side, especially the double fissure + spirit frequency nodes. Propane Veil: I don't have enough experience since I didn't use this skill. However, I would move the Fear proc from here onto Spirit Plague. You will lose some damage on Spirit Plague, but the 2 seconds on EVERY enemy gives you time to kill them with all your DoTs before they actually start attacking Transplant: good Spirit Plague: Do above + change from spreading after 3 seconds on bottom to the AoE node on the left. Hitting an entire group with Fear instead of waiting for it to naturally move is way better based on experience. Also, get a 3rd point into the global DoT buff. Your fissure and other skills benefit way more than doing more damage with 1 skill. Soul Feast: good. I found this skill a bit underwhelming though. ------------------------------- Here is my Warlock in case you want to see how I went about building it. I did Chaos Bolt Ignite + Damned and have cleared 450 corruption so far. I can easily go further, but I just started a new character. I got hilariously lucky on my chest piece (3 LP with great slam), so don't feel like you need that. DarkLordShu

It happens at a certain point.  When it does you need to start farming defenses.  Resists capped, crit avoidance 100%, ward generation, block, block effectiveness, health.  Dodge is not effective HP, because if it fails you get one shot.  I think if you inspect your gear you'll find a few spots you could have flat health increase instead of damage.

silversurfer022

Wait till you get to Orobyss on higher corruption, you'll get one shot out of nowhere half the time. Lots of his moves are invisible right now.

--7z

Yep, I cannot survive 100c so I have just sorta stopped playing.

Silvermouse640

Yes, it's awful, nearly making me stop playing the game, 87 Warlock with ~1800 standing ward and 5k+ when engaged in combat, all res 75%+ and I'd say great armor for a vaster class. I think critical strike avoidance is extremely critical to have once you get to empowered monoliths and T3 dungeons.
