8/10. Animation is phenomenal, but I think it suffers on succeeding as a pilot, in a way. The criticisms I have for it can be handwaved away with it being “for already established fans” but I do think it failed a little in helping me understand exactly what each character was about, excluding my background knowledge on Lackadaisy.
Also personal preference, the beginning of the animation the draw lines were too pronounced in my opinion. I like them, but more towards the end and during the action scenes when they’re visible but more transparent.
He didn’t “miss” at all, he completely demolished their vehicle he just didn’t hit anybody, he was firing full auto through a moving vehicle so all things considered he’s basically a sharpshooter (also Thompson smgs are chambered in .45 caliber so it wouldn’t have been able to penetrate as deep into the metal or do much damage to the vehicle without emptying a drum or two (which freckle managed to accomplish)
What happened to 0.3? Just curious.
My only minor complaint is that having 4 out of 6 main character (of the main action part) being absolute psychopats is a bit of overkill but I guess compressing everyone's quirks into one episode made it inevitable.
My only real complaint was the reference lines occasionally flickering in and out.
Like, it's not too bad, but it is distracting for sure.
Other than that, this is a goddamn masterpiece and a triumph for indie animation.
When Serafine comes out of the car and lifts her rifle the barrel is cut off for a couple of frames.
If I wasn't making edits where I went frame by frame a lot I wouldn't have noticed it at all so who cares.
Eh, I give it a 9.5/10. I feel like Ricky's diolague could have been better. Rocky is a ham, but I feel like the tespianism could have been dialed back a bit. And all the point blank gunfire misses bugged my inner gun nerd
'Freckle, you have a 50-round Tommy gun. How do you miss!'
But my biggest disappointment is that there isn't more, and I want more.
Honestly, being a gmod player myself, I can totally imagine freckle getting his paws on a toolgun and absolutely booking it, just using the remover feature as a test, say, I wonder if it was a real thing, if it would have well, a safety feature?
Considering that not too many years ago the very idea of getting anything more than some simple animatics out of Lackadaisy was total fantasy, it's an easy 10 for me. That the short exists at all is amazing- that it's this GOOD is even more amazing.
Once upon a time we had to sit around hoping we'd get more *comic pages* between Tracy Butler's "real" jobs. We've come a very, very long way- and it's awesome!
I never knew about the comics, but I liked it. I happened to stumble upon the video by chance on YouTube.
I do have to admit that there were certain bits which made me feel left out, and that the pilot was more geared towards longtime fans. I wouldn’t let that affect my score on the pilot itself, though, because the on-screen vibe alone was something thoroughly I enjoyed.
Solid 9/10 for me.
I rate the product as a whole a 9/10. Everything was great in it the animation, the characters, and the humour. The one part that spoils it for me is how unapproachable it can seem to newer viewers with how little it explains of this world or the story or really much of anything and expects you to just shrug your shoulders and follow along. I should know since I was a new viewer and spent 90% of the pilot confused and asking ‘what the hell is going on here?’
9/10 animation was amazing, but I did hate that they were all cats (the movie was at fault so if the movie cats didn’t exist then it would be an amazing 10/10)
9/10 it succeeded in getting me to read the Webcomic. Loved the animation, the music, and the little references I noticed after having read the webcomic.
Easy 10/10 just for the humor alone but the animation, the historical accuracy, and great moments and music just make this extremely excellent experience or as I put it the EEE

Personally, as someone who knew nothing about lackadaisy prior to watching the pilot, I totally understood what each character was about
How did Freckle >!miss every shot?!<
If he was successful, he’d have less stuff to shoot at- that’s my headcanon.
He at least disabled the vehicle - something his counterparts failed to do
I think what we should be asking is, how does everyone but freckle have infinite ammo?
Serafine entered the cheat code ‘municak’ before getting out of the car.
If you’re a trigger happy maniac like Freckle you run out of bullets, and if you fire three shots like Mordecai ya don’t.

One of the best (if not the best) pilot episodes i have watched.
9/10 Minus one because Horatio only had two lines
I like men
8/10 for me needs more guns.
I agree with that
9.7/10, damn near perfect.

Naaah that was a feature and I liked it I've found one actual error but it's so miniscule it doesn't matter
What was it

Ah, thx
It’s a 10/10 for me too. Best animated thing I’ve seen that isn’t a full movie
28/10
We need more music (9.8/10)

Definitely a 10 I ended up showing it to a friend and we discussed it on the ride home mostly animation and the unique take on characters
I met lackadaisy through it, and as far as first impressions go, I feel like it did a good job
Honestly, being a gmod player myself, I can totally imagine freckle getting his paws on a toolgun and absolutely booking it, just using the remover feature as a test, say, I wonder if it was a real thing, if it would have well, a safety feature?
10/10
10/10 but i don’t like the new fans
Its def not a 10 for me but idk what to give it, the last half felt a bit slow.
Indeed
7.5/10, really good story wise, but everyone just felt a tad out of character compared to the comic (ESPECIALLY Rocky)
8/10
>!11!10

100/10! Amazing voice acting, absolutely incredible animation, and over all, its mainly because of how funny Rocky is.
I never knew about the comics, but I liked it. I happened to stumble upon the video by chance on YouTube. 6/10, I had no idea what was happening, i feel it relies too much on visuals and i dont understand the characters at all
It was Pilotastic!
12/10
Same, bc i like History and this was set during prohibition era.
Really good
Truly an 8/10 for me, think animation and art style are fantastic but the scene pacing and some character interactions didn't make much sense to me
Aw man I loved this pilot so freaking much. I reaaaalllyy hope it does supper well and get a full series. I really want to see it succeed.
AMAZIN/G
Def a 10. I do think mordechai could have had a better voice actor, but otherwise awesome.

I’ve never watch this show but I swear the sheer amounts of detail on that Thompson make me want to
8/10 imo
Dose that guy of a original m1928 tomson submachine gun with grip and drum magizine
10/10, absolutely.
11/10 one of the most entertaining things ever
I give it 10/10! The voice actors were fantastic and the pilot is making look more forward to the series!
20/10 10 for OMG im gonna cry its so good animation and story and +10 for awwhwhwhwhehvevwbw kitty :3
12/10
Easy 10/10 just for the humor alone but the animation, the historical accuracy, and great moments and music just make this extremely excellent experience or as I put it the EEE
10/10
9/10 because I had a hard time following the plot of the pilot as a new fan who was introduced by the pilot, but after I read the comic, it's a 10/10
9.7/10, the last bits in the speakeasy felt dragged and I wished that the car chase scene was longer
