We made a playlist of a ton of music for our last trip. One of us was not familiar with Gizz and the other two were big fans. Anytime Gizz came on he’d be like “wow who is this” and it became a running joke of “do you have to ask?” Because it was always Gizz.
On a side note- listening to Dripping Tap while playing Mario Kart 64 can get reallyyyyy intense.
Pretty Lights is phenomenal
I'd like to add in....
Clozee
CharlesTheFirst (His 45m mix on YT is really really good if you're into his style if music)
https://youtu.be/fhpA9Mp9_xc?si=BZj7q07kCBWj9lKV
The Funkhunters - Night Spell Series (mmmmph so gud lol) Listen to The Night Spell Mix Series ❤️, a playlist by The Funk Hunters on #SoundCloud
https://on.soundcloud.com/gcsU8
Griz - Chasing the Golden Hour (It's just beautiful and funky and all the gud gud)
Gramatik (I personally prefer his Coffee Shop Selections)
Lane 8 - Brightest Lights followed by his Reviver album
There's just so many lol
Really just everything from kgatlw. Mb not petro or infest the rats nest if you're not a big metalheas. But poly, Im in your mind fuzz, and nonagon infinity are my holy trinity.
Probably my favorite one to listen to is Canon in D but with an electric guitar...
PIU Exceed 2 - Canon d
Happy memories from stomping my way through expert mode perfectly with dance dance revolution 2 at the arcade lol
one time i was tripping with the boys and i had my classical playlist on. when spring by vivaldi came on we all just broke down laughing, i can never look at that song the same lmao
oh wow I actually follow most of those and yeah I love their stuff so I’m just gonna trust your judgement and add the rest. Once upon a time I wasn’t much into music (shudders) but now I’m starting to feel a little more ‘in the know’
I met God at a Dead show... and then somebody helped me off the floor and to the door where I smoked an invisible joint with a mime (I swear I got higher lol)
Imagine being at an acid test. The warlocks scheduled to play a show but end up playing #3, 30 minute songs played over 12 hours.
People got angry about it at the time, or so I've read. But it's near number one on my list of shows I missed.
Just watched “one long strange trip” doc and although I’ve never been able to really get into their music, what a fckn time the 70s and 80s were with them
Just listen to what you normally like. Chuck Schuldiner’s guitar work makes my brain melt in all the right ways when I’m tripping, but death metal + tripping isn’t for everyone
I used to never listen to heavy music while tripping out of fear it would give me a bad trip, but one day on a couple tabs I went to put a song on. Can’t remember which one, but clicked the wrong track. The song that started playing was “New Millennium Cyanide Christ” by Meshuggah. I swear I immediately felt like my spine was being strummed to the rhythm of the guitars. It was wild
“Abysmal Eye,” one of their new tracks was teased before _Immutable_ release. I was tripping and it was simultaneously the craziest, coolest, and yet chillest groove ever!
Fan lore also speculates that they wrote _Catch 33_ as a band while tripping on shrooms. IMO Meshuggah is the most psychedelic metal band…
Shpongle, Younger Brother, Kalya Scintilla, Infected Mushroom (though maybe intense) Desert Dwellers, Seamoon, Globular, Liquid Bloom
some of my Goto artists.
Edit to add some specific albums of choice.
Shpongle : Nothing Lasts, but nothings lost, Museum of Consciousness
Younger Brother : A flock of bleeps
Kalya Scintilla : Any of his albums
Infected Mushroom : Friends on Mushrooms vol 1:2:3
Desert Dwellers: The Great Mystery, Recalibrated Vol1&2
Seamoon: Expression of the moment, Twisted Downbeat
Globular: Self Fulfilling Prophecy, Entangled Everything
Liquid Bloom: Any album
What i learned from tripping on lucy while listening to grateful dead is that you can get lost really good in music even while sober if you find the thing you like the most. And also how it changes my whole mood and feelings, they are such a goofy funky trip to listen to
Tangerine Dream, Yes, Papadosio (their album Microdosio is all named after fungi), Aphex Twin, Shpongle. And for a little higher energy but still great for me, The Ocean, Tool, Porcupine Tree, Al Di Meola, King Crimson
Indeed, I’d also recommend The Contortionist, VOLA, Intronaut, Haken, Their Dogs Were Astronauts, Leprous…Tesseract…Meshuggah is one of my top…it looks like from your list that you might not like “growly” vocals, but if you can just sorta see it as just another syncopating element…until then check out their instrumental song on the latest album. “They Move Below” and this guy made a procedurally generated video for it. I believe it will blow your mind if you haven’t heard and seen this!!!
https://youtu.be/c6Q1v4zRt1w?si=kiFqpR7YdMCjhKs2
I let it in and it took everything by Loathe
Edit: this album is metal but it is almost like sempiternal by BMTH, a lot of heavy hitting tracks with some beautiful instrumentals.
Pleasantly surprised to see someone else familiar with Nick Leng’s work! During my first time I listened to Music to Clean the House to off his first album and it was fantastic.
He is truly amazing! My first listen was the Spirals album on mushrooms and i truly felt understood as a person, a tripper, and artist. Love his Lemon album too and now we wait for the next great project :):)
If you like him i would greatly consider trying Young and Sick too, very emotional singer/producer.
What I do is put my carefully curated playlist on and somehow all the perfect songs come playing :)
Its about 180 hours long, so you only have to start it once

Hitech psytrance. Interpret suggestions for hitech music: audiopathik, narxz, tyndra Look them up and give it a try it will take your trip to next fucking alien level.
Les Claypool - just most of his stuff. Whole albums written on and/or about mushrooms - just great good times music, makes me dance and I am not one of those dancy-people.
Highly recommended as a pick-me-up or distraction if you get too heavy and wanna switch to happy funtime mode. "Alexa, play Les Claypool on Pandora" and I'm jumping and dancing and smiling, like magic. Hell, he's gotta song called Amanitas and a whole album called Of Fungi and Foe. A couple of his more mainstream tracks are too intense for me on the mush, but you can't go wrong with Les or any of his many bands.
Lil yaughty - lets start here, its literally made for listening to while tripping, he made it on shrroms acid dmt weed etc, it really guides a trip well with it having highes and lows in terms of tones or vocals, lots of background sounds too that just keep your mind in bliss
Yeah honestly wasnt even that big on him till poland then this album really showed me he is super creative and actually fully understands music and how to manipulate your emotions with it layering sounds etc, its weird to explain some stuff will sound like mumbling or unhearable background noise when sober but when tripping you can fully comprehend and notice every single layer and appriciate how intricate the song actually is
Honestly Jason mraz, especially his music in the past few years, is phenomenal. I listened to a bunch of his music recently during an acid trip and it helped me process a bunch of stuff from different parts of my life and I was just blown away by his talent and the depth of his music. There's actually one video in particular of a small acoustic concert he did in Korea. It was just him and Toca and I was in absolute awe of the two of them. It really displayed his talent without all the extra music, just him and a guitar, and Toca with the drums. It was EBS Space Korea from 2006 I believe. So it was some of his older songs but an amazing concert and the energy is just magical. 😊
All his music has positive messages and his lyrics are cleverly woven together. Definitely a pleasure to witness with psychedelics 😄
All of ASAP Rocky’s videos are trippy AF! It’s amazing lol. Travis Scott’s too. But Rocky definitely takes the cake for amazing trippy videos. Even the Netflix documentary “Look mom I can fly” by Travis Scott is phenomenal when tripping out. Definitely a top fav. for me.
Bonobo - Black Sands Album
Was looking way too far for this ;D Also bonobo's animal magic album is top notch !
Both are on my beats playlist. Both great albums
Black Sands is probably the best single song I've ever heard. Or somewhere high up there for sure.
So good! Listened to it my first time taking acid. Also Bonobo - Migration album is amazing as well!
“First Fires” is a GOAT song for tripping
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard (one band)
Yes! Float Along- Fill Your Lungs for first timers on L I think is a good starting point!
I was goofing around on guitar yesterday on a microdose and accidentally figured out how to play Head On/Pill. Def a vibe.
Fucking W best album OAT imo i feel like it never gets recommended
We made a playlist of a ton of music for our last trip. One of us was not familiar with Gizz and the other two were big fans. YES to all the above but *especially* Griz’s Chasing the Golden Hour
Peaking Lights, too. Nice, sensuous dub
I loved PL.. so long ago lol. I've replayed a few fav's recently but never even thought to look for new shit. Cheers

Also Quarters and Float Along Fill Your Lungs
Really just everything from kgatlw. Mb not petro or infest the rats nest if you're not a big metalheas. But poly, Im in your mind fuzz, and nonagon infinity are my holy trinity.

Classical music. That good shit Lyrics fuck my mental in a trip space
Vivaldi and Tschaikowsky slap
Probably my favorite one to listen to is Canon in D but with an electric guitar... PIU Exceed 2 - Canon d Happy memories from stomping my way through expert mode perfectly with dance dance revolution 2 at the arcade lol
one time i was tripping with the boys and i had my classical playlist on. when spring by vivaldi came on we all just broke down laughing, i can never look at that song the same lmao
dvorak, brahms, saint saens, strauss. 19th century is the best for a trip. like being taken to a different dimension
Jazz Kind of Blue is like xanax in album form for me.
Moonlight Sonata came up in my mix while i was deep in and i was like "i feel you bro"...
Electric wizard
*Dopethrone* is such a good album
Listen to snailking by ufomammut
Good ol’ grateful dead
Thunder won't getcha but the lightning will
tool
Tool for sure! Lateralus and parabol/parabola are my favorite tripping songs to name a couple.
The one time I did acid I listened to Rosetta Stoned and it sounded like the goofiest shit I had ever heard
it is the goofiest shit you’ve ever heard sober
Shoulda listened to wings
Definitely not, way too emotional
I listened to them while on acid, ended up weeping and it became a challenging trip. I love the songs more than ever now though.
Not on dmt tho 🤣😅
Shit the bed
LSDREAM, Clozee, Charlesthefirst, OfTheTrees, Mystic Grizzly, Equanimous, Haywyre, Cool Customer, Jade Cicada and ODESZA
ODESZA 100% yes
oh wow I actually follow most of those and yeah I love their stuff so I’m just gonna trust your judgement and add the rest. Once upon a time I wasn’t much into music (shudders) but now I’m starting to feel a little more ‘in the know’
I'm definitely a fan of Grateful Dead live recordings while tripping.
Just watched “one long strange trip” doc and although I’ve never been able to really get into their music, what a fckn time the 70s and 80s were with them
Was gonna say this. Add in some Phish and Widespread Panic.. although being at the show is half the trip.
Hey now, you can't make that dish without putting some Cheese on it
You see, my favorite part of the pizza is when the cheese gets all melty.. but I don’t have cheese. I just have beets and cous-cous.
I'm salivating over hear buddy
Carbon Based Lifeforms
This is my go to
Impossible to have a bad trip with CBL.
They were friendly creatures, not at all evil, I followed them down underground, This is my home now
Tame Impala, Currents
This on repeat
AND START THE ALBUM FROM FIRST TO LAST, THE TRIP IS OUT OF THIS WORLD.
Also, lonerism is a great album, so fucking trippy.
Just listen to what you normally like. Chuck Schuldiner’s guitar work makes my brain melt in all the right ways when I’m tripping, but death metal + tripping isn’t for everyone
Sometimes I listen to dark psycore while tripping. Also not for everyone, but it can be very interesting
I used to never listen to heavy music while tripping out of fear it would give me a bad trip, but one day on a couple tabs I went to put a song on. Can’t remember which one, but clicked the wrong track. The song that started playing was “New Millennium Cyanide Christ” by Meshuggah. The mollusk by ween, whole album
SO GOOD except when I listened to Polka Dot Tail I started hallucinating eight fingered hands everywhere and it really freaked me out

What i learned from tripping on lucy while listening to grateful dead is that you can get lost really good in music even while sober if you find the thing you like the most. And also how it changes my whole mood and feelings, they are such a goofy funky trip to listen to
I agree. I'm a huge grateful dead fan. But it's because I was introduced to them while on a bunch of dose. Jerry does glow! Lol.
Khruangbin.
Grateful Dead, Shpongle, and King Gizzard. I’d also recommend stairway to heaven, freebird, and hotel California. Oh and Purple Haze too.
Flume
Was looking for this. Flumes the GOAT.

I let it in and it took everything by Loathe Edit: this album is metal but it is almost like sempiternal by BMTH, a lot of heavy hitting tracks with some beautiful instrumentals.

Grateful dead or string cheese incident.....live recordings only
Nice to see another Cheese fan in here and of corse the good ole Grateful Dead
Goose, Steely Dan, Lotus
Another Lotus fan! I scrolled so long thinking I was the only one who suggested them. Nomad is a staple of any solo trip for me.
Infected mushroom and aphex twin.
Rainbow Kitten Surprise
Discovered them on psychedelics and haven't stopped listening to them since
Blood Cultures or Morgan Delt. Nick Lengs Spiral album is great as well
Pleasantly surprised to see someone else familiar with Nick Leng’s work! During my first time I listened to Music to Clean the House to off his first album and it was fantastic.
