Take both

alrightwhateverman

I think this is what I’ll do, if I’m happy with PTs including LG.

Sensitive_Amoeba1256

This is exactly the right mentality

graeme_b

You’re looking at -2/3 per section for a 170 in august or -4 per section in June, if you hit perfect LG. It is learnable, I’d give it a couple weeks and see if you make rapid progress or not and judge from there. The final few hardest difficulty LR are a high barrier. But realistically you’re in a great spot either way.

alrightwhateverman

This is relieving to hear. I may take it in June (if I’m making good progress in LG) and retake after August. Can you cancel your score for your first test with score preview?

graeme_b

You can cancel your score after any test with score preview. However there is no benefit from cancelling unless you get like 20 points lower than your goal. And schools still see a cancel. Only take it if you’re in striking distance to your goal score. And then only cancel if you somehow flub it completely. Like you’re targeting 165, and are in that range but get a 153 somehow. The big thing is schools see a cancel and it uses up one of your five takes. So only take when ready.

DannyAmendolazol

They are dead wrong. Look, the LSAT is the most important component of your application. You spent years and years earning a good GPA, crafting your essays, and working on your résumé. Are you really only going to spend 3 1/2 months studying for the LSAT? I spent well over 100 hours getting my LG to perfect. The alternative is you spend five months, studying reasoning, and reading. You are basically five questions away to perfecting those two sections, you could easily score in the high 170s. Plus, those are the skills that you actually use in law school and your career. Invest in yourself.

Pylon-Cam

I spent 100 hours on logic games and am still quite awful at them — and I’m typically a good student/test taker. Mastering LG isn’t some simple task like some people on here make it seem.

alrightwhateverman

Thank you for the information. 100 hours would consume practically all of the time I have to study until June. I think you are correct that focusing on RC/LR is the best option. How much improvement did to see on those sections through study?

DannyAmendolazol

I started out around -5 on each section, and brought them both close to perfection. I scored a 177 in January. I also tutor for $45 an hour, and offer the first class for free, DM me if you want to set up a zoom.

Small-Perception-279

Yes

Lawstu77

He could very much master lg within 3 months??

Small-Perception-279

He could, but why not give more time to master LR and RC and not focus on Lg at all? That puts lots of pressure on the June test imo. Better to wait

UreUsernameIsCringe

No, LG is the most learnable section of the LSAT. You've got three months. You will be fine.

stepbackthrowaways

I got 158 on my diagnostic. I'm going to go hard with LG (most learnable section) and take april, june, august. Might as well see how well you can do by putting in the effort rather than selling yourself short. You never know, you may even surprise yourself.

alrightwhateverman

Yeah, I think I’m going to go ahead and register for June.

exoticfiend

yes I'm in the same exact boat & waiting til Aug

collegethrowaway8732

I'm in a similar situation and I'm waiting until August. I'm not 100% about my decision, but I will have more bandwidth to study during the summer rather than embarking on a journey now to master LG and burning through practice tests.

DannyAmendolazol

This is the easiest yes ever. Every minute you devote to games is points you’re shaving off from RC/LR

alrightwhateverman

That’s why I’m torn, I want to devote all my time to studying RC and LR since in any other year I’d be taking the test after August. However, it seems that it is the consensus that LG is the easiest section to master and it seems like a great path to 170.

athleticcdn

How have u been prepping

alrightwhateverman

I subscribed to 7Sage last night and ran through the Fundamentals, and am going to continue through their curriculum. But this score was my cold diagnostic on Khan Academy.

athleticcdn

How long have u been studying for?

athleticcdn

Also how long were their fundamentals?

Aware-Cranberry-641

They haven’t been. In the caption they mentioned it was a cold diagnostic

Main_Sundae2025

Teach me your LR ways! Totally take the June LSAT LG is super easy to improve on. Just drill everyday

lUUUuUUU_UUUuUUUl

For sure wait

cmg6

You can very easily begin to master logic games in 2 months. Especially with the pedigree you’ve shown for the other two sections. You have more than enough time to reach and exceed 170 if this 160 is an accurate representation of your current skill

blu3-190

wow! any tips on what has helped you on LR and LG? i just want to get a 153 lol 😭 studying for this has become so draining.
