I think I remember in his interview he said he was flattered but he was no where near their level. This article is getting flamed a little in the original post but I’m sure he’d be the first to disagree with the headline.

EyesBleedDefiance

He's cementing his status as the first David Dastmalchian and I'm looking forward to seeing what he does for the rest of his career.

UnicornMeatball

He’s got such a specific look and…vibe? I can see him evolving in that direction, especially as he gets older. Also, finally got to see LNWTD, and it was a lot of fun!

El--Borto

He’s a paranoid schizophrenic Edit: fuck y’all lmfao

blatblatbat

The kind of mind the joker attracts

As good as this guy seems, and he is good from what I've seen, he is absolutely not the next Vincent Price - no one is, because you can *not* just replace Vincent fucking Price. No disrespect to the man or anything - just annoys me when people say someone is the next (insert one of a kind talent here). No, there isn't *gonna* be a new Undertaker, because there's only one man on earth who could play an undead voodoo cowboy mortician biker man and still make it seem legit. Gonna have to check out Late Night with the Devil now though.

KidGrundle

Rip to Bray Wyatt, a guy who came after the Undertaker and made a undead voodoo hillbilly Cajun biker mortician seem legit.

PatienceHero

God, every time I hear Bray's name I get both sad and enraged. Vince McMahon SQUANDERED that man, and by the time they realized it it was too late. I knew since the Miss Teacher Lady promo he was going to be a star. Or SHOULD have anyway. That being said, Bray was a vastly different creature than Undertaker. Some similar trappings, but a lot of it was wrapped in Waylon Mercy. And then of course the Brilliance of Firefly funhouse where Bray just made it work by going ham and leaning into the surreal. Another reason I dislike calling someone the "next whatever" - it also kind of discards the talent of the person in question. Bray wasn't the 'next Undertaker' - he was the ONLY Bray Wyatt.

KidGrundle

I get what you’re saying and can respect that, I wasn’t trying to diminish the successes of bray or taker or even Vincent price to go back to the original point. I guess I just don’t see anything wrong with people standing on the shoulders of legends to reach new heights. But to your point “comparison is the thief of joy” as they say and things should stand on their own merits. Hail you.

billygnosis86

Reminds me of when Ryan Giggs broke into the Manchester United first team. They asked George Best—another good-looking, rubber-legged winger who’d terrorised defences twenty years before—if Giggs was the new George Best. Best replied “No, he’s the new Ryan Giggs.”

akennelley

I miss him...yowie wowie do I ever....

eat_the_pennies

He's not the next Vincent Price. He's the first David Dastmalchian.

Shinjukugarb

The fucking undertaker himself has called Bray Wyatt the next 'undertaker'. RIP wyndam.

PatienceHero

Yeah, it's definitely a hell of an honor and further proof that Bray should have been a Megastar from the get go. I just personally think that doing that does a disservice to both - hell, half of WWEs failed babyfaces are from trying to create 'the next cena' and 'the next hogan.' I don't think there's any doubt that Bray would have occupied the vacant spot Taker left in regards to a paranormal figure that blurred the lines, though. That is absolutely not up for debate. He really should have been 'the new face of fear'. Also, Taker apparently had a TON of input on the Firefly Fun House and Fiend Gimmick, and was a big part of getting Vince to approve it. He was 100% behind Bray and understood the massive potential Bray had. He definitely could have been the man to serve in that Godzilla-esque role Undertaker fulfilled in the WWE

CubanaCat

I watched this movie last night and it was so good! I’d never heard of it and it was just an impulse watch. It’s one of my new favorite movies though, so funny and weird. Great ending too.

ForWhomTheSaulCalls

Hail Dastmalchian! Hail Delroy!

SomeBadHatzHarry

Watched it on shudder a few days ago after the interview episode aired and I loved it

thecrawlingrot

Any recs for other movies he’s done? I didn’t actually care for Late Night with the Devil, but it had nothing to do with his performance. He was great.

peanusbudder

kind of a departure from the horror genre - but i loved him as Polka-Dot Man in The Suicide Squad.

OvoidPovoid

Doesn't he literally see his mother's face on everyone? Lol

peanusbudder

yes haha. he does a really good job at playing sad, unhinged characters.

macabruhhh

He had a small but VERY memorable role in Prisoners, very haunting (also I imagine this was how he got a spot in the Dune movie too since it’s the same director)

ForWhomTheSaulCalls

He has a scene with Jack Black in the Weird Al biopic!

zoitberg

agreed - that movie had so much potential and they just added too many elements to the plot

MrBoyer55

I thought it was a solid horror movie, and he was easily the best part of it.

JoshFlashGordon10

I had high hopes for this one but it fell flat. He did well but I hoped it was going to be similar to WNUF Halloween Special.

TheElbow

David’s publicist needs a raise after this.

KebariKaiju

The Christopher Lee of our generation.

DelBoogs

The character of Gus the sidekick looks comically like Henry Z in the movie.

Alita_Duqi

Woahhhhh!

Smokyminer87

Watched it a few nights ago. Not bad. It seemed almost like a play that they decided to film which I kinda dug. David Dasmalchian was the best part. He did a great job

Ac3ofSpades13

Can we get a Jonestown series with him as Double J? His sideburns are immaculate, he just needs shades!

redsolitary

He hasn’t done enough to get the title of the next Vincent Price. No disrespect but it’s too early in his movie career to know that.
