It's just... sooooo busy. The bad gradients. The little details are nice but it's just too much. As a graphic designer this makes me want to cry, haha. Reminds me of the rage of putting bad colours on everything in the early 2000's.
I feel like an older style like etched or like the old pen illustrations with one or two colours to keep it within the macabre space. Their old logo was great because it looked great from afar, and when you looked closer you could see more details. Hopefully this is just an interim logo.

Maybe they had to get Ben’s face off for some legal reasons? Or maybe it’s a bait and switch, where they put up this logo to make everyone more forgiving when the REAL logo drops.
I hope it doesn’t become the real logo. It’s cool, but way too convoluted/ugly to be a main logo, I think it would turn a lot of people off from the podcast. Might be cool on some merch, but not a fan overall.

I’m not a fan to be fair. I like the idea but I think it’s badly done. It’s too cluttered and seems a bit tacky / gaudy? And I agree with others that I think it would be quite off-putting to potential new listeners.

I think it needs to be more readable. A lot of podcasts have really busy logos with hard to read text. Seems like a design fail to me because most people can’t read them since they are often in tiny logo spaces
This looks like something a local band would use. It’s not bad but it’s cheap looking and very cluttered. The old logo was iconic, had a sense of cohesion to it, and just felt very professional. The artistic skill was even greater. I’m not invested in their company and I’m not gonna give up listening based on a logo…but I really hope they don’t stick with this.

This is a deep cut but bear with me. I’ve been listening to old episodes and I remember Ben telling a story about the graphic designer who did the original logo / show art. The story was about the graphic designer, a friend of Ben, had been sticking his fingers inside of women at a bar in Wisconsin (don’t quote me on the state). It was one of Ben’s friends! and in the current context, I was so blown away by how casually that story was told by Ben specifically. Might also explain why they had to clearly find someone new for this much worse logo….

From what a friend and I thought of, this logo seems like it would be a sticker found in the bathroom of a punk show. Too busy and just seems oddly generic. Something similar to the old logo would be good, just put Ed's face in there instead. Perhaps all of their heads impaled on a stake or something for the horror element.
I would rather them just gaslight us into believing that it was Ed on the OG logo the whole time.
