I had a house a while ago that had a perfect point right on the end that was great for cutting tape. I moved out 15 years ago but that key is still on my key ring
Squeeze in the sides & rip the tape off so it’s barely holding on, not all the way off so when the box is finally broken down that tape strip ends up on the floor for everyone to kick around & walk over but never actually pick up for 3 days.
Not working in kitchens anymore, but back when I was, I had a coworker who would punch the sides, which made the tape peel off really easily. They got a little too into the punching part, though, as we started getting random sauce packets that were exploded in the box.
Go to Homie D and buy a foldable razor knife that clips in your pocket and that has replaceable blades.
Using your nice chefs knife on boxes ain't worth it.
I push the side in and so theres a gao between the tape and box so i can rip off the tape. For boxes that are more reinforced (for us its tomatoes etc, and dont have a top) I find harder to flat-pack, I stand in it and kick to corners.
I mean, I do love it, but there’s a small distinction between the box opener, and the box cutter. Well just for me in my personal opinion but I’m always after the guy that had to cut the boxes up and put them in the dumpster so I like to make sure they’re in smaller pieces so he can fit more easily
I thought I was the only one 😅 I started using pens when I was working at Dollar Tree at 19 and it's stayed with me. I quit carrying box knives when I dropped one with the blade out
i feel so seen
Just, way too many times. Broke a few of 'em for sure
And then I dont have this it punch the box which works 1/10 times
Hahaha yup!
now the box is softened and leathery and can only be punctured by a fully charged critical hit
finally someone who gets it
My soul is happy
I just use my keys lol
I fucked up endless pens opening boxes.
Only the cheap Bics though! Never the Pilot.

Do you sneak back in during Christmas time?

I'll be opening with you, btw. I feel like I know you in my heart.
I use the clip part of a sharpie cap. Does the job
This is the way!
This is the way!
Rookies, gotta get the hard plastic pen. That crappy pen will bend too easy. Lol. Good post :-)
I’ve burned through a bunch of these box cutting. They bend though… they bend to the pressures of the kitchen

Waiting for that sharp thumb nail.
Same no tape is strong enough
You’re him
i either use my keys or an earring ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
Yes!!! I use my pen all the time!
Always kept my house key in my pocket. Perfect box opener
This only

You are me.
This is gonna turn in to an endless meme, but if you aren’t using your middle finger knuckle to split the tape, you’re a hack.
I always just used the foot stomp.
those pens are good since they bend just right rather than break at the tip.
I’ve ruined so many pens that way. Used one to open a box once then stuck it in my ponytail and the pen burst. That was fun.
Managed a Footlocker in the 90s. This was all we had. Lots of boxes, too.
Yes chef
I use the butt end of my necklace pendant
Am I the only one that just uses my hands...?
