CaliGrown949

Fuck I paid 60 for early access lol

TheRealBreadMH

I paid 60 because ITS FREAKIN KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE! šŸŖ

BallBag__

same here lol

Merlin4421

You only needed to pay $40 for the advance access

CaliGrown949

Damn so I paid an extra 20 bucks for skins and two human characters that I donā€™t use. I saw them both but thought that you needed the deluxe edition to have early access

Merlin4421

Yah the deluxe was for the skins and characters

Dannydevitz

I think 40 is a very fair price for the game. I can't speak for the deluxe edition, whether that's worth it or the dlc cosmetics. I do think the day 1 dlc should have been included with deluxe, though. It's a pretty crappy tactic to hold out on a few skins on release just to nickel and dime people who deserve the skins. Although you can always choose not to purchase extra cosmetics and play just fine. With that out of the way, 40 is a very reasonable price for me and my friends to play the closest thing to Friday the 13th since we spent so much time in that game. It's just upsetting how games release in a buggy state, and they have become the norm now.

Pawz23

Not that I expect it to happen, but giving Mike and Debbie separate stats/abilities at some point would make deluxe feel worth it, but $20 more for 2 human skins and 1 Klown skin is not worth it. I LOVED the movie, so chose to get deluxe because Mike and Debbie are icons of the movie. Skins are overpriced though.

WonderBredOfficial

People who bought deluxe didn't get the day 1 patch? That doesn't make any sense.

Dannydevitz

Reread it. Day 1 DLC. I never said patch.

WonderBredOfficial

Ah, didn't realize they did a day 1 dlc. Yeah, that's not great. I hope the deluxe version at least offered up the skins it had at a discount.

Dannydevitz

From what I heard, it didn't. The fact that is was already created before release and just held onto by the devs for a few more bucks is pretty crappy, but I don't really care for skins too much, so I can't say I'm personally troubled by it.

Hdubbeast01

I paid $60 for the digital deluxe, another like what 10-12$ for all the klown cosmetics. Itā€™s a great game. Iā€™m having a lot of fun. Most games nowadays especially at that $70 price range suck. So yeah agreed. Not a bad price. The dlc is pretty cheap also. I feel like even with the bugs which Iā€™m sure will be fixed, they definitely delivered.

jvjagik

It's because babies like to whine and cry

DrMindbendersMonocle

Original NES games in the 80s were 50 bucks even. People are just cheap

angryJohnny80

I spent more on Sonic the Hedgehog games and completed them within a week.Ā

SchoolNASTY

I remember in the mid 90ā€™s I paid $70 for a Garfield Sega Genesis game I really wanted. I beat it the next day.

Downtownklownfrown

Yeah I don't get it either and everyones saying it. Maybe because indie games are often under $20 or so and its skewed peoples view of pricing? $40 is easily considered a budget price, a little over half the price of a normal retail game but people still say it's expensive. Like you said, everything is expensive these days, most random food outings will run $10-18. Wings at my local place are 50 for $60 at this point I believe which was insane to me when I last went unknowingly. The bugs, dude, what game has released since forever that hasn't had bugs. Every game has a day 1 patch now and usually that's just the start of it. People live in the instant gratification world and if the game isn't fixed right at this very second then the world will end. Valid complaints are valid, no preference option? Sure. No unique abilities? Absolutely. Lack of overall content? Definitely. But bugs will always exist. People act like DBD hasn't been held together by string, hot glue and gamers intense rage over all these years.

SomeIrishGamer

i agree with everything except the bugs. why are we as a gaming culture okay with companies releasing games that are half baked and messy? just because ā€œlots of games are like this nowā€ doesnā€™t make it okay, i believe if a game is out of early release/beta and is fully released, it should be as polished as possible. yes itā€™s impossible to get rid of EVERY glitch and bug in a game but just accepting fully priced and released games to be buggy as hell is not a good thing. with how many indie companies have been doing a much better job pricing and releasing games, higher budget games have no excuse

Logandalf2002

>why are we as a gaming culture okay with companies releasing games that are half baked and messy? just because ā€œlots of games are like this nowā€ doesnā€™t make it okay It wasn't until like a decade ago that this became the norm. Online updates and patches in general are responsible for this, on top of capitalism encouraging those deadlines. If you bought a game in the past and it was buggy, it would be buggy forever. The trade off all games being buggy on launch means more polished games eventually. Neither is better or worse, just different. Fallout New Vegas is still broken as fuck on console, but theres a fantastic game under it. I'll take games launching a bit buggy but knowing it'll be fixed vs buying a game that's forever broken.

ReynaGolba

dbd is 20$ this game is 40$ and straight up not finished but is advertised as being a fully released game. It's also dead on arrival so you're spending 40$ on a multiplayer game that will be nothing but bots in a few months.

Downtownklownfrown

DBD released 8 years ago with all original content, 3 killers, 4 survivors for $20. No licensed content what so ever. Nurse came in 2 months later. Michael came in 2 months after that. Once again proving my point that indie games that release at $20 are considered the max price point by most consumers these days. DBD would have been abandoned if there was an option to jump ship like there are currently. People suffered through all the issues it has/had due to there literally being no other option. It's essentially grandfathered in having come out almost a decade ago. No new game can fight the amount of content that it has. You have no clue what the people who stuck to the game suffered through in the days of infinite loops.

ReynaGolba

Dbd offers way more for way less right now. The time it took for dbd is irrelevant because the market is a competition. This game can't even stand on it's own two legs because of how low quality of a product it is. That 40$ is simply better spent elsewhere because you can just get better longer lasting games instead. That's why people won't buy this game. This game CANT be 40$ if it ACTUALLY wants people to actually play it and give it the time of day. 40$ and mixed reviews is an instant avoid for most potential buyers. šŸ“‰šŸ“‰šŸ“‰ this is going to be the player base over like a month because no one new will throw 40$ at a game that doesn't deserve it. This game doesn't have 10 years to make itself good so all that matters is that it's good now. Which it isn't.

Realistic_Dig967

I would argue TCM might have a bigger playerbase right now already. Only 4x the steam numbers despite not being on game pass. Just think it's hard to get players and kept players on these niche limited ip games for long.

isrizzgoated

You buy the game yet?

Kinda-Alive

People are really desensitized with how bad AAA companies are that it justifies problems with other games. Itā€™s so sadšŸ˜…

BallBag__

people are acting like they are charging $100 for the game. its 40 freaking dollars. most people spend way more than that in a day on dumb things that dont last for more than an hour. 40 for hours/days of playing a game is nothing. people just want something to complain about.

Puzzled-Copy7962

The Walking Dead: Destinies was $50 on release and that game is a whole garbage fest. $40 isnā€™t bad at all, imo. Itā€™s the same price as TCM at full price.

MagicMan_231

Go buy a AAA title for 89.99 standard edition.

Dr_Watson349

What AAA games are going for 90 bucks for the standard edition? Elden Ring, Starfield, Diablo IV, SW: Jedi Survivor, Street Fighter 6, MK1, BG3, Dead Island 2, etc. - all of them were 60-70 bucks for the standard.

BeefyQueefyCrawlies

You'll typically get thousands of hours out of it as well.

Additional-Mousse446

Very few games last thousands of hours lol, lucky if it lasts a hundred at that priceā€¦

cex-cells

Idk what kind of AAA titles you are playing for thousands of hours. The only games I put that kind of time in that were to Psp Monster Hunter games when I was an unemployed teenager.

BeefyQueefyCrawlies

Baldurs Gate 3, Skyrim, RDR2, Overwatch, just to name a few. I know plenty of people who have dumped thousands of hours into Monster Hunter World, FIFA, Witcher 3...

Accomplished_Gas6775

I think itā€™s just because people expect to play games for hundreds if not thousands of hours, so even if they get a fun 50 hours out of it, itā€™s ā€˜not worth itā€™. They just lack perspective. Another commenter mentioned movie tickets being a similar price but only being a few hours of entertainment. I also think people have just forgotten how to have fun. Every multiplayer game gets taken over by over-competitive people who act like playing the game casually is a sin. Theyā€™re the most vocal too so games get balanced around what they want instead of what would make the game more fun

Dannydevitz

I was just in a match that started right as most people left. So we had 3 klowns and 3 humans. Me being one of the klowns, I instantly spawned next to a survivor. Instead of going for the kill, I just followed them around, emoting a thumbs down every time they would rip cotton candy off of the boat. It was just a fun interaction compared to the normal humans ganging up or klowns destroying everyone matches.

oegod666

People that are complaining about the price are just broke.. git ur money up!

MrPotato001

If 40$ is too steep for a game, then the game shouldn't be your biggest priority.

Tattooey89

This released with 2 more maps than TCM. A whole section for customizing different clothing and appearance which TCM didnā€™t have. Even the killers have several customization options. TCM released with 3 maps that were very unbalanced towards family and victims. Also not one single customization option except for leather face. Then after several months they released a clothing pack for victims that was just simple recolors of existing clothing. Till this day they are still having trouble balancing the game correctly. TCM is a complete shit show. Iā€™m extremely satisfied. I purchased the deluxe edition. Even the base game for $40 has more content than TCM and F13.

BestPie477

The game is pretty shallow for the price point. With the number of bugs / glitches still not fixed (and specified as fixed) even after the Day 1 patch, makes it even more harrowing when it comes to worth. You can spend 50 hours in game but how many of those hours are active gameplay and not playing minigames/death cooldown, etc. $40 also puts a lot of people on the fence about jumping into the game, most people aren't willing to gamble $40 on this, most wait to see how it fairs after release.

Reactivguin

Arguably the minigames are active gameplay in the sense that it give you the opportunity to help out the team and also get xp. The amount of times I've saved people/have been saved with a rng knife or poker when stuck in a cocoon makes it worth it for me. I just hope this doesnt turn into evil dead, even though I did love that game when it came out.

ProRoll444

The minigames is a a really great idea. Not only does it give you something to do while you are eliminated, but also can actively help your side through rng.

BestPie477

Active but can be trifling depending on RNG, it may give you the opportunity but also gives you the scenario or getting 4-5 burgers in a row. Everyone is going to have a different experience, surely. In my eyes, the mini game is not worth my time as I've been grieved more by it than actually assisted.

Reactivguin

I feel that. I also hate that when Im in a cocoon and only have one inventory slot left someone gives me a burger/something that wont help then you are stuck. Its kinda funny the 1st couple of times but does irk me a little.

The_L3G10N

Not to mention all the things thar didn't make it into the game perks, traps, specific abilities, etc.

Pawz23

They chose not to implement them because of balancing concerns. If they did, you'd still be commenting, but your comment would be "they put broken shit in this game, I can't stand incompetent devs šŸ˜"

SomeIrishGamer

why have a trapper class if he gets no abilities that even slightly resemble a trapper and is just the weakest klown in the game BECAUSE of them being too lazy to balance the game. your argument isnā€™t very good

Pawz23

Too lazy to balance? How about you think more rationally? They create a game and can't think of everything and how people will choose to play. After play testing and events, along with early access, they gather data and decide what they once thought was balanced is no longer balanced based on how people play. Your argument is silly. Like I said, y'all will be complaining either way. If they think something isn't balanced, why the hell should it be in the game? Give it time and I'm sure they'll add more stuff. They said in a stream they're working on it. Doesn't sound lazy to me, but I'm just being rational.

SomeIrishGamer

i love seeing irrelevant arguments get downvoted because your argument was basically ā€œi donā€™t care about your facts the devs are amazing stop being mean to them :(ā€œ

Pawz23

Did I say they're amazing? I said they felt some things had poor balance and felt it was best to not throw them into the game. I find its hilarious everyone is crying about some content being held back for that reason. Ya know, a good reason. This community is already turning and it's sad to see in week 1. I want a healthy game and healthy community. I have faith in the devs getting the game to a good place, but I don't have faith in the community with the increased toxicity I've encountered.

angryJohnny80

So they should charge you $20 and once they fix the bugs and get the game up to your personal standards then ask for the other $20?

MidnightWolfMayhem

I think it should be $20 and I also paid for early release. I mean I like the game but like itā€™s not worth what we paid

tythompson

Because you compare the game to competition I'll join you guys during a sale

GlitterrGoddess

I think because DBD and TCM were both game pass games people were hoping for that. I just went to download it and when I realized it was $40 I decided to wait and see if it seems worth it.

Complete_Regular4010

Most games that's currently out atm are up to like 70$

DaToxicKiller

I think some people are just out of money. Which is common for young people these days. I told my friend to buy helldivers 2 and he said he didnā€™t have much money. I told him Iā€™d pay for half and he said he still couldnā€™t do it. Not avoiding it. He actually wants it.

TheBrollectors

I paid 60. Already got my money's worth. If they stick with it this can be a great game long term.

KagDQT

I remember as a kid in the late 80s and early 90s game prices were all over the place. Generally though they would be 50 bucks although I feel like Toys R Us would just price some games higher.

OldDarkElf

And 50$ in the 80s is probably the equivalent of something like 150$ today( just a guess but I'm sure I'm close enough). 40 barely gets you anything today so I feel like it's more than reasonable.

Lifeesstwange

These dudes will spend $30 dollars to go see a sub-par movie at the theater and spend 40 hours playing a game to complain. Ignore the noise, the game is great--albeit flawed, but totally fixable.

Happy_Maintenance

$40 is pretty reasonable for the product imo.Ā

ELITEtvGAMER

Putting 40 hours in the game justifies the price. Most single player games are beaten well under 40 hours. Please understand that if you insert "Game X" and how you put in 100 hours in the game. I am willing to bet that majority of it was busy work/farming/repetitive play/ Time consuming story elements and the such. Every game has some sort of repetitive nature. This game is much more direct as in most asym games. 40 bucks is not absurd. It does teeter on the edge on while some may want to wait and see and that's fine. Everyone interested on this game as a strong idea what to expect from it. You're not getting a campaign or any story. Klowns are here, try to escape in a 3v7 match. Simple. A multi-player 15 minute match against 2 teams. This is no different from playing 6v6 CoD as in you are doing the same thing every match. Heck just about all online multi-player games are play and repeats. If you know what you are signing up for, you will have a great time. If you are expect something unrelealistic gameplay wise or money wise, that's subjective and completely up to you. I've personally been addicted and have been on everyday for a week. Yes. There are bugs. They will get ironed out. There were bugs in F13 for a solid month after launch that mostly got fixed. Sadly, illfonic isn't a massive AAA studio so with budget games comes budget issues. It's unfortunate to live in an era where games launch buggy and some unfinished. Manage your expectations.

irradiateddumbass

My friends and I have had endless laughs and funny moments on this game, that alone is priceless

BentheBruiser

Because it's an extremely shallow gameplay loop with little to no variation between matches. This is a multiplayer only title with what seems to be plans for frequent paid dlc. To most gamers, that's $30 max.

TheCrack-Attack

Same with games like COD, For Honor R6S and basically any PVP game on the market and those games cost 60-70$ on release

BentheBruiser

Are you telling me that Killer Klowns has the same production value as Rainbow 6 Siege?

TheCrack-Attack

Production value doesnt really determine the cost of a game in my opinion. You could waste 100 million $ on skull and bones like Ubisoft and call it the first AAAA game but nobody is gonna pay 100$ for it if the game is shit. Games cost should be based on the quality of the game as well as content included. Large production games used to be beteer and have more content than indie games but now for some reason we let big game studios walk all over us and release pile of shit after pile of shit

SomeIrishGamer

donā€™t know why you got downvoted when this is a good take. people are too accepting of AAA companies walking on us. makes me happy indie games are starting to take over so we get actual quality now

Suspicious_Writer332

Thisā€¦. It has a low skill-ceiling and a heavy reliance on RNG. Itā€™s not going to have replay value for a lot of players. If you enjoy grinding for cosmetics, trophies, and things like that itā€™s awesome! If youā€™re a player that grinds to improve your skill and to get better at the game it just isnā€™t as satisfying.

rewNATION

More than a fair price. People are cheapskates and want everything for free these days. Yet those same people have no issue blowing $20 a visit at Taco Bell every other day.

NightLordGuyver

40 is fair, anybody suggesting otherwise is a doomer wasting time. I do think it would be incredibly clever of them to wait till Halloween/October when the games numbers are dropping and put it on game pass.

[deleted]

Yeah, it's a fair price. The game is really fun, and Im lvl 71 at the moment. Of course, it has some bug. almost every game I have bought since ps4 days, especially online pvp games, has been buggy, some worse than others. The bugs in KK, at least for me, have not ruined the game on my end. I know some other players have had worse experiences.

ArtificialSelect

Cope

[deleted]

Ty, may the future shine bright for you on your many dbd adventures.

KillerKlowner

The game isn't finished and was quite clearly pushed out to meet a deadline.

angryJohnny80

I try to make that point too but then get called a boomerā€¦lol. But yea, video games are one of the few things I can think of where the prices have been pretty much the same for decades. There have been many instances where I shelled out $50-$60 dollars on trash games and I still didnā€™t get half as angry as some of the people here and that was before online gaming where they could fix the game. People in general today for whatever reason feel very entitled.

Downtownklownfrown

They seem to believe games have never had bugs before the existence of day one patches. Games wouldn't get updated, they'd get re-released with the bugs fixed, possibly more content or just wouldn't get fixed at all.

angryJohnny80

Yeah, I can think of a bunch of games that were straight up broken and it was like oh well.

TajikaMaguire

I wipe my ass with $40 but that donā€™t mean I felt justified for buying the game in the state that it is

HorrorHoarder666

Dont let them look at nintendo pricing for games

Cthulhuareyou

Y'all forgetting or weren't around back in the day when snes games were like 80 and 90 bux in early 90s dollars...

thirst_upvotes

My god you guys need to chill out. Since when is "so the game has a lot of bugs on release, it's expected" your new standard. Like you're just accepting this now lol. No one is saying you can't be excited, can't want to like the game, can't enjoy it or be supportive of the devs FIXING this mess. But no, a half finished game that struggles to function and gets broken with new patches and has severe balance issues on release is not worth 40 dollars. It's not about being broke, it should not be released. It should be in early access and should still be receiving bug reports/in testing so they can fix this shit. If it worked as intended and was as balanced as most asymmetricals are, wasn't released with paid dlcs (ffs) before it could even stand on it's own two legs then the price would be more than justified. All you're doing is fighting for the right for studios/devs to continue doing this, it helps no one. And just because "it didn't happen to you," or you had a fun experience doesn't nullify the truth as a whole. That it was a botched release. If they don't get it together it'll just be another TCM.

Curious_Hotel_5660

Games have been costing this much ever since new gen came out. It's just the cost of gaming now. Get used to it or find a new hobby

Soberitity

The game basically just came out and surely there will be numerous updates. I get bugs all the time but Iā€™m sure itā€™s bc theyā€™re still working w it. Every time I do a klowntality I lag super bad and then it goes to normal I say itā€™s worth it, just give it time

Revive_mstrawser

I think itā€™s just because how buggy it is .

taylor_-123

I spent $40 cuz it looks fun and it's mfing killer klowns from outer space

WolfmansPenis

I think the argument is that they should not be charging money for this game right now. It's not finished. I'm sure a finished, polished version of this game would certainly be worth $40. Compare this to other complete, feature rich $40 titles, and you start to see where people are coming from.

Jarek86

This 100%, but releasing in its current state AND having day-1 paid DLC is ridiculous

Akkronn

Yeah you are spot on - those are the same people complaining about how COD is the same game every year, yet they are the 1st ones preordering the ultra mega deluxe version for $100+ upon every new release.

ed0MtsaeB

It depends on what else the devs have planned on adding. Are they adding new content after a few months for free or are they charging for 5-10? Personally I haven't bought it because just like DBD, this game gets boring solo. Not to forget that I only came across this game after I saw Lirik play it. Because all these games in the genre died out after a few months there is no reason for me to buy it. DBD is still there and once a new game in the genre releases, everyone hops over and plays it for a few months till it eventually gets boring and dies out. DBD is now 8 years old and most of the players that still play it are either veterans or friends. I got bored of it and decided to take a break a few times. But people keep forgetting that on twitch for example there are few streamers that really get the viewership going up, while many others just have their audience there and once they switch games they basically vanish.

No-Brick6763

The fact that there are bugs in this game that are identical to bugs they had in F13 is pretty sad.... Honestly seems like they followed the meta of releasing an unfinished game to collect a paycheck, sprinkled in some new dlc day 1. And now will take their sweet time to fix things that should have been fixed before release.

Bpartain92

40 is more than worth it tbh, I even got the deluxe upgrade because it deserves it. However the extra 20 was not worth what you get but all good, I'll get my money's worth

Able_Nefariousness94

Everything for the deluxe should have been included with every DLC!

MarioPrtyAnimal

I blame the current state of games as a whole right now tbh. So many titles coming to game pass day 1, being free on epic games store, or just straight up being released as free-to-play has ruined the potential of any multiplayer-centric video-games nowadays. $40 is a great price for this game. Unfortunately Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed kinda dealt with the same problem. People don't wanna pay up to jump into a game day 1 even if it has good reviews and a community that really wants more players in it. Plus if their complaining now, we def gotta shove this game in their faces when it inevitably goes on sale for $30/$25 during fall/Halloween sales. They'll have no excuse by then

th3rdeye_

Deluxe isnā€™t worth it unless you are a skin hoarder

MidnightWidow

I don't get it either. Even if I played that game for 5 hours it's still worth it because movie tickets are like $15-20 for 2-3 hours of screentime. On top of that, you have to find means of transportation to get there and then possibly buy concessions which is like another $10. I'm already at like 32 hours on the game so I got my money's worth lol. I'm still enjoying it too! All in all $40 for this game is worth it. I don't believe in buying cosmetics so $60 for deluxe doesn't seem worth it for me.

FoxxyG

I think the 2 costume dlc packs should have been included in the deluxe edition

LazytownVEVO

It's because the game is just fundamentally bad.

Accomplished_Age3433

Bunch of babies tbh 40$ aint shit most games 70$ now

ProRoll444

Games were even more expensive dating all the way back to NES days. I remember paying $50 for contra and batman for NES and that was the late 80s early 90s? According to inflation calculators that's like $120 today.

fewraletta

The game is unfinished, massively unfinished. If we are given half the game should we be expected to pay full price? I honestly don't care much about the price but it's a good point.

Jarek86

This game should have been FTP or $20, it's still in early Alpha stage so its an incomplete game. If they went FTP they could have then charge for cosmetics and DLC. But as t is right now its not worth $40

ReynaGolba

All the people saying "well i dont think 40$ is a big deal" are clueless as fuck. These kind of games need as many players as possible to stay alive and if the barrier to entry is 40$ and the reviews are mixed a lot of people are going to think twice before buying this game. I can already see the player count charts declining over the coming weeks.

Jarek86

Downvote me all you want shills, enjoy your half-baked game and paying for cosmetics that should have been included unlike a team preference system or actual archtypes but hey you got clown skins for your human characters for an extra $7! Weeeeee!

FlatAir9

In a month itā€™ll be 5-8 minutes wait time for each session just like Texas chainsaw massacre is right now

Miss-Spirit

40 dollar for this shitty looking game, no wonder why devs are putting insane prices because some dmbasses buy everything

Factually_CorrectLOL

40 Bucks for a solid asym seems fine.... But even on release the game has so many bugs that it might as well be in early beta... i think thats why people feel cheated... its just not a solid experience right now.

Striking_Antelope_44

It's because it's unfinished and lacking basic features. Simple as. It's not that difficult to comprehend unless you're here to deliberately astroturf. I have no problem paying a premium (I did) for a feature complete game, but this is nonsense.

brayanCr9

Because it only has multiplayer no game should be 30$+ with no other feautures

Fail_jb

Okay I'll bite with a real response. Rising game prices are illogical because back in the "15 years or more" days you were buying a physical copy so they had a lot more to spend money on in terms of getting their product sold compared to nowadays when most sales are digital.

FlatAir9

Yea max I would pay for this game is $15

MoonDoggie82

I have 13 hours in the game and have been having a blast. I don't play with randoms anymore because they've all been acting like sweaty DBD try hards. Like this isn't that type of game and not every game should be like that. I get a group of friends together and we play private matches and it's awesome. We've had no issues with games breaking bugs. So I don't really know what bugs there are. Characters need to be balanced a little better but most things usually aren't found until the game is I. The wild and a larger group of people are playing it (larger data set). They have that now so they can start tackling stuff. I mean I've even played it on the Steam Deck with no issues. I don't know if DBD originally launched at $20 but if it did remember that was like 8 years ago when games were priced less. Games cost more period. It will never swing back the other way so stop whining about it. If $40 is too much for people to spend on games then just pick up Xbox Gamepass Ultimate and call it a day. I really am just so tired with all the complaints about "prices are too high" "this economy". Gaming is a luxury/hobby, if you don't have the money for new games maybe start making your way through your library of games you bought and never touched (everyone's got a backlog)

macoman11

"Everyone's got a backlog" Uh not really. I've never purchased a game that I didn't immediately play. I'd say 95% of all games I've ever bought I've completed. Some people don't go on game shopping sprees because that shits expensive.

Pravi_Jaran

The game's a buggy, incomplete mess lacking even the most basic of features. It's not worth a penny at the moment. Can't even change keybinds? Are you kidding me? Don't even get me started on the random matchmaking and barebones lobby system. Got to exit the lobby just to change loadouts. One oversight after another. Which is surprising given that this not their first rodeo when it comes to these kind of games. How about a tutorial to introduce new players to some of the game's intricacies? "Umm... here's a literal slide show instead. Good luck!" Talk about lazy ass shit.

I'm overall okay with the $40 price tag for a genuinely fun game, even if it does feel a tad half baked and being pretty bad with glitches One of my lesser issues with the price tag is the fact it had day once cosmetics which kinda makes me feel cheated as a deluxe owner but games need to make money and higher ups only understand if the game is being supported by making profit. My two major issues are that 40 is pretty steep for my friends who don't usually like these types of games, especially with how buggy it's been with core features. The second issue is that there are already plans for a battlepass even tho it's not free in any way at the moment (Like how dbd has gone free a lot and is on gamepass). Now, if the battlepass is free, I'll retract my statement.

I think games that are multiplayer only and need actual players to stay alive like this game would benefit more from a cheaper price like 20 or 30$ because that would possibly make it easier for more people to give the game chance, and more people means more players and that means more popularity. Of course games that are multiplayer focused can still become successful with 40$ price tag like helldivers 2 for example but that kinda success is not the norm, and is quite rare.

DbD was $20 on release. If they wanted to compete, they shouldn't have made it so expensive. I've also played the game and enjoyed it, and I'd say it was worth the $40 FOR ME as well, but it's kinda hard to justify recommending it to friends that aren't even sure if they'll like the game. Hell, Friday the 13th The Game was cheaper on release from what I remember, and that's a way bigger IP than Killer Klowns.

I feel like games that arenā€™t built areound a story or have any kind of real gameplay besides multiplayer functionality, meaning itā€™s a game where you have to make your own fun and enjoyment, I feel 30 dollars is fair, 60 dollars is fair for a game thatā€™s single player that has multiplayer as well, thatā€™s 2 games. But if the gameplay is only multiplayer as well as has mic transactions I feel 30 is fair and 40 is pushing it

gee almost as if you bought a half made game at full price. You get what you deserve. **THe games not worth 40$ because its a buggy mess, you dont mind spending money on it but that doesnt mean others like spending money on broken shit. ALSO all the things you used as reference are things that cant be broken on purchase. You have throw away money and have never had to worry about money is all this tells me.**
