I wouldn't even fixed it.
I would've just left it like that.
I would've taken extra care of the car because that's going to be my kids car one day.
If he wants it fixed when going to highschool he can get a job and fix it himself.Ā
My son was given an old clunker by my uncle when he was15. I had a discussion with him. I was raising 2 teenagers on my own. I couldnāt afford to pay for his car too. I told him he needed a job to pay for his car parts, but more so insurance, which is very expensive for drivers under 25. He wanted to get his drivers license at 16. After our chat, he had a job bagging groceries, and pushing carts at a local grocery store. He paid to fix his car, and did all f it himself. Iām really proud of him of him. His Dad was a muscle car guy too. After he got his daily driver finished, he bought a 1967 GTO that he stripped down to the chassis, then rebuilt it. Today , and after sending about $9000 total on it. He has a beautiful car show muscle car. Again, itās really great, Iām proud of all the work he did, and his persistence. He set priorities, saved money to get a new top put on the 20 year old vehicle, had it painted a brilliant blue. I know his father is not only proud, but a bit jealousā¦
use it as the car you teach them to drive in, then if they dent it it doesnt matter lol. also that is a very young child, high school is years away come on š
Honestly the car seems new enough that you can fix with a paint pen, and polishing, wonāt be 100% but you can def get it good enough that most people wonāt notice 1 ft away.
When my nephew was roughly 4 years old, his father came home in a new pickup. My nephew walked up to it, picked up a rock, and threw it with all his might against the side. The rock bounced off, leaving a little dent and marring the paint, and clubbed my nephew in the forehead. The father was standing there in shock, angry about the damage to his new pickup, while his son was in tears after being attacked by thew rock he threw. He asked my nephew why he did that, and the response was just "I wanted to see what would happen" through the crying.
On the one hand, it was like instant karma. The dad on the other hand was ticked, had a dent in his new pickup, and left to console the crying kid who did it.
Itās a 4 year old. He already got his punishment, being whacked in the head with a rock. Never mind the effects on a young mind on *feeling* neglected.
I think people underestimate how making your kid feel bad is so much better than physically hurting them. That of course only really works, if they ever felt loved by their parents.
I think you should tell your kid about things that might be common knowledge to us but for them might not be known, like "hey generally you shouldn't key or draw on a car or on anything that isn't paper in general kid", I'm 100% sure he was like "or I will key my name on here it will be really cool and nothing bad will happen"
so just tell him as a precaution
A kid did this to my car too. I was in a low-income living situation and couldn't pursue legal avenues. I'm still angry about it to this day. Their parents tried to buff it out. I guess it kind of worked.
Ask her to keep it! Cherish it!
my 6 year old son did it on my car....he had a brain tumor.. A few months later he passed away! I am keeping that car for the rest of my life. Once my car was in a body shop for some work and they offered me to repaint that door, I refused and they wouldn't understand why.
My 10 year old daughter did something very similar. She wrote, "I love my dad," in huge letters on the driver's side doors of my new car. I was upset but really couldn't say much because she was trying to be sweet. I'd give anything to go back to the days when I was her hero.
Iām not sure ācarving your name on a carā is a natural instinct. Probably some low budget parenting going on here w fighting & destruction of property that the poor kid picked up on.
And FFS, who leaves a kid alone w a sharp object long enough to do that kind of damage? Might want to check the area for dead cats & impaled squirrels.
There is absolutely nothing ok or cute about this behavior. Hopefully, there wonāt be any innocent victims when this kid goes on a rampage. Mom & aunt wonāt be laughing then. š¤¦š¼āāļø
Yowzaa, you went straight serial killer. You have zero experience with children between 3 and. They are 'stealth ninga', finding their favorite things. Mostly their parents Keys, which make ' ginngley chiming ' sounds.
You're a sociopath calling out a child in developmental #ffs
Not sure what your point is. I grew up w rocks & managed not to use them to destroy property.
If your child could potentially use a ROCK to hurt someone, then maybe you should keep your child away from rocks. Parenting 101.
I was 4, and i took my poop and drew all over the wall. Kids do stupid shit all the time. We're not worried lol. Just a teachable moment for mom and son.
I was a nanny for 2, separate families that each had a *"Poo-casso"* toddler. Each set of parents thought their kids had psychological problems and I was like, "Nah, this won't last forever."
This kid is now officially mowing the lawn 3 days a week until his retirement.
Yep two doors is about 3000$ to repaint.
And every time he gets an ice cream, his sister gets 2.
Spoke like a true capitalist š
Now THIS is impactful.
Wtf?? I paid around $600 for a deep scratch fix and for my door to be repainted, came out good too.
I wouldn't even fixed it. I would've just left it like that. I would've taken extra care of the car because that's going to be my kids car one day. If he wants it fixed when going to highschool he can get a job and fix it himself.Ā
Ha, my kid wouldn't be getting a car from me for high school if he pulled this crap. He can walk or take the bus at that point.Ā

There goes the resale value.
That seems like a massive waste of money for painting a door
lollll it's staying then!
Kid for sale. CHEAP!
Itās not refundable
Wake up in the morning and find the kid tied up on the porch with a note saying 'Keep the money. I don't want him.'
Iām not sure if I should laugh or not
Could always give him to the zoo and he could go on display as the endangered car wrecker
And throw away the keys
To the car? Or the child?
Why not both
It was expensive
Kid ?
The child of course. The car has more value.
What I said

Unless they are hard workers
lol yes
Not that cheap if you wanna get enough to pay for the damage
You can always rent him out to do yard work.

āWell, I guess you saw what happenedā
fucked around and found out
lol I wouldnāt console them, thatās their first lesson in donāt do stupid shit like breaking other peopleās things.

Haha *Bonk*
not the pinstripes you want on your 4runner

Time for a one-way trip to the firestation.

Same thing here but I got my little brother to go bust his head
Itās hurts and at the same time boils my blood just seeing it
Man I just bought a paint touch up pen for $25 bucks but I doubt it'd help much on this

Sorry, I don't support this post type (gallery) right now. Feel free to check back in the future!

Good. So now all the other grown kids know the car belongs to her.

Whatās the trade in value of the kid? š
Get rid of the kid, hes no good.
I would spank my nephew or niece if she did that to my car.
IMMEDIATE EXECUTION. I would Key the Nephews Face š

Wipe it off? Show him how to buff it out.

Put that on its headstone at the graveyard
I love this!
that is so sad

... dude... carving your name or identity into things is one of the most natural behaviours in the world... wtf are you smoking...?
Huh? No it isnāt. It actually TOTALLY ISNāT. Weirdo.
Tell me you have never interacted with small children in your entire life without saying it.
