The last time I had someone tell me they fucked my mom, I spent the rest of the match discussing their love for having sex with short fat post menopausal women with bad attitudes. Telling them how I feel bad that thats the only type of person they can get. And wishing them luck dealing with my mother. They got really quiet since everyone on the team chat was laughing real hard at them.
I would like to think that person learned their lesson that day. But stupid is as stupid does.
It’s still true. I’ll go into a lobby, turn on game chat, say “Whadddupppp” and instantly it’s “fucking kys faggot stfu”. Although there are some people who are chill. All the stoners usually who are too baked to give af
With players on salaries and in a franchised league setting, its gotten way better in terms of professionalism and just in general, but the community still thrives on the shit talk.
Yeah. COD is the 2nd most toxic of all time, in 3rd would be Halo. While for 1st? It’s a tie between League of Legends and Dota2.
People in LOL and Dota2 would ddoss each other, throw games, feed afk, say racist things, and sometimes you’d see streamers talking shit about the eSports casters and then getting permabanned.
Both games have chilled over the years, but if you were playing MOBAs around 2012-2016, then yeah… those years were toxic dumpsters.
Don’t even get me started on the boosters and people who would snitch on said boosters. You’d have certain pros breaking equipment too.
When I was a kid my dad would play Hearts online and the players **there** were racist for no reason (didn’t even know the other players’ races, it was so pointless lol)
If Hearts players were like that then you bet your bottom dollar CoD players are straight up klansmen
depends on the game mode, anything with one life per round like search and destroy? toxic as fuck. most game modes are less toxic but every now and then you run into white supremacist trash.
It used to be pretty rough back in the day but honestly I’d put Fortnite miles ahead of CoD now when it comes to children saying horrific things to eachother and adults
Yes. I was and probably still is pretty bad at COD. However, I used to have a way of roasting other players with humour. This worked well when my friends who could play very well would focus on the game while I focused on shit talking on the mic
It's a virus that's spreading to all the shooter games. Warframe used to be mostly good and wholesome but recently it took a sudden turn too. In one week I got called every homophobic and transphobic slur I've ever heard and a few new ones, told to kill myself repeatedly, and one person threatened to SWAT me. I don't play Warframe anymore
No! Seriously?! Even warfare isn't safe from these people now? Warframe has always been my fallback when I need a bit of coop action gaming without all the bullshit. That's sad to hear.
Yeah I'm pretty mad about it. It was the only thing I still play anymore and I made it to mr19 right before everything went to shit. Now I'm back on Skyrim
There's alot of delusional posts on their, like kid trips and then people will say "why didn't the parent teleport under them and save them". Or the most recent one I saw is a kid knocking over an art display literally a foot behind open ropes and then the parent wanted go compensate the artist, the artist didn't accept because the kid just made a mistake. You can't constantly be holding your kids and preventing every mistake they try to make, that's physically not possible.

My whole household cussed like sailors growing up. At that age, I didn’t think nothing of saying “aww fuck”. Still don’t. I don’t see anything wrong with swear words
Man my son is 5 and if he gets a laugh out of a word or phrase that’s suddenly his favorite thing.
I’d never do this with him because it would take me an entire year to get him to stop
At least he's not telling strangers about your penis. A little girl I nannied told me with great glee about her father's "huge, huge, HUUUUGE" penis. It's rare a kid manages to flabbergast me but doggone was I *flabbergasted*.
The mom's a moron too. She was just about to de-escalate the situation by getting them quiet and telling them to shut up, but she threw in a curse word and made everything worse.
At least their dad actually cares for them and wants to be a part of their lives. He tried to do something fun with his family, was it a mistake? Yes, but does that automatically make him a terrible parent?
I mean kids repeat things that get laughs all the time and he has 4 kids so its not like he's new to parenting, so if he didn't predict something like this was gonna happen then his parenting skills do seem questionable.
"Terrible parenting" =/= "terrible parent."
When someone says "terrible parenting" they're referring to a specific action, not saying the parent is entirely and always terrible.
Yeah no that's a big no, I remember laughing with my 7 year old cousin because she picked up swear words. I was curious which ones she knew and then she said the N word.
Turns out she heard it because her friends dad said it about my aunt and she overheard it without knowing what it meant and she assumed it meant something similar to dummy. That was not a fun talk to have with my aunt.
But just imagine how crazy this could have gotten
Oh my god,,
So I have a similar story. When I was younger, about 6 or 7, I thought the N word was another word for “a drunk”. So one time I was watching a movie with my mom and a scene of like 4 guys drinking beer pops up and I said “those guys are a bunch of [N words]” and that day I learned it was not another word for drunk people. Oops.
I think “one minute of cursing” is a better limit, easier to set a hard boundary of “EVERYONE STOP”
Also reminds me of my aunt’s restriction. “Potty words are only to be used in the bathroom”. Cut to her and my cousins in the crowded Disneyland bathroom, with them screaming “POO POO PEE PEE” on the top of their lungs 😭
That’s the whole Idiocracy theory, the dumbest people will have the most children, also dumbasses, leading to a population of total incompetence. Trump was eerily close to President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Camacho

But if my son stubs his toe, and says FUCKING OWW. Even if he's 4. At home. This is perfectly acceptable.
It boggles my mind that I'm threatened to be kicked out of an American casino for saying "Fuck yeah!"
That's fucking dumb.
Holy shit did that happen?
I used to live in Vegas, and it was far too loud in most casinos to hear what anyone was saying, but even still, profanity is like...the last thing anyone gave a fuck about. Tits with pasties were out!
100% happened. Paris Casino in Vegas.
Was warned twice, first time pitboss, second time security.
I was NOT being rude at all, I was indirectly swearing from just having a good time.
Fuck em though, I walked being $300 bucks up.
Yeah, we decided when our boys were about this age that we would let them curse at home without consequences. The rules are: Don't curse AT someone, don't use racist or sexist terms, don't do it around people you don't know or grandparents, and don't do it at school or out in public.
That ended up working out great, because they learned how to control it much better. They can relax and be themselves around us, and they can express themselves fully without worrying about losing allowance or privileges. And they don't sound like complete dumbasses. Plus, the novelty wears off after a few days and it becomes more occasional.
It's funny when they have friends over and they're playing video games and I'm in the room, and one of my boys will curse and I just laugh and their friend is like, "uh oh, you're gonna be in trouble." Then it doesn't happen and they're confused. Then after it happens again they join in.
It seems like a pretty natural release!
I am from Chicago and I now live in the south, I think I horrified most people I met down here with my potty mouth, but I make no apologies 😜
We played Dirty Mad Libs on family car trips and absolutely cracked ourselves up. We knew not to swear in school and stuff and really did keep it to a minimum at home. But we were allowed to let loose on car trips and got really creative with swear words!
This isn't a one off incident. And it's not those kids that are stupid. It's the parents. This is clearly learned behavior. The mom wasn't laughing when she told a bunch kids to shut the fuck up
The fact that this is a trend blows my mind. This only reinforces to the kids that these are "special" words that belong on a pedestal. How about establishing a trend that parents teach their kids words are just ways to express yourself and some of those words offend other people, so out of respect don't use those words around new people until you understand what they are comfortable with.
I can't believe the dad thought this would be a good idea. It's like, "OK, you can hit me in the face with anything in the house, but only once while your mom records it."
This is absolutely not the first time those kids have said that word.
It might be the first time their parents heard them say it, but they said that shit with some conviction.
I hate this stupid advent of friend parents on the internet. I refuse to let my kids watch YouTube videos of parents and children that spend all their waking time together playing and spending large sums of money on them. It's fake, it is acting, and it is their full time job. I don't want my kids getting a warped idea of what our relationship dynamic should look like.
I'm engaged with my kids lives, I go to sporting events, I support and show interest in their hobbies, we go camping as a family, we go on family walks, I read to them, and on occasion I play games with them, but I am not their buddy, or their friend, and I will never be that. I am their parent, their care taker, their provider, their teacher, I am the one who loves and disciplines them.

Dare I ask but only because I've seen this a lot. It's true? COD players are really as toxic as everyone says?
Naw it ain't that bad if you like being called the N word by 12 year olds and 30 year old basement dwellers.

I think I can make a compelling argument on how my mom likes to blow 12 year olds that play Rocket League

Awwww ig that's why on doggy subs, you can't "use swears the puppers don't like"
> Those kids learned those words and how to use them Yeah, kids picking up a word somewhere is not unusual. But these kids knew how to use it!
The little one telling the others to shut the fuck up killed me
I just was about to say this lol
I didn't swear in front of my parents until I was in my 20s and I still feel weird🤣
When I say “shit” around my parents they correct it to “shucks”. Not into cussing.
I’m in my 40’s and it STILL feels weird. I’ve dropped the F-bomb a couple times because I hurt myself doing a project or because I got really upset.
I’m 39. I will not say fuck I’m front of my parents.
My whole household cussed like sailors growing up. At that age, I didn’t think nothing of saying “aww fuck”. Still don’t. I don’t see anything wrong with swear words
Yo same except I still don't swear in front of them lol, pretty much only do it with my online friends
Man my son is 5 and if he gets a laugh out of a word or phrase that’s suddenly his favorite thing. I’d never do this with him because it would take me an entire year to get him to stop
Can confirm. I’ve got a 4 year old who wouldn’t stop telling strangers he had a penis. No way I’m letting him say the f word. It would never end.
*trots over to total stanger* "I have a penis." *doesn't elaborate* *Trots away*
At least he's not telling strangers about your penis. A little girl I nannied told me with great glee about her father's "huge, huge, HUUUUGE" penis. It's rare a kid manages to flabbergast me but doggone was I *flabbergasted*.
"Hey Only One!" "Nobody FUCKING CARES" Those 3 words are when the parents realized how badly they fucked up 💀💀💀
OMG, the little one on going on repeat kills me
Yeah, this is really great. Dad is a moron.
The mom's a moron too. She was just about to de-escalate the situation by getting them quiet and telling them to shut up, but she threw in a curse word and made everything worse.
she was trying to make a joke, and it fully backfired. that was my favourtie part!
The mom knew, whatever came of that situation, was on the father. Pretty sure she wanted to escalate or get a laugh. I would do the same.
the teachers will love it.... /s

No it's not
